If not, use GameKiller. It works on my Ace S5830 custom ROM 4.04.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy SII lag/stutter

Hello,
Since I have updated my phone to 2.3.4(KI2), my phone is lagging. Swyping from left to right on home screen isnt smooth anymore. When I'm watching a video on youtube, my phone is stuttering every 3 seconds. It freeze for about 1 sec. but the audio is still going. It's really annoying. I haven't had any trouble when I was running 2.3.3(KE2).
What I've already tried:
-Factory reset
-I have rooted my phone and installed miui and later cynagomod. I haven't had any lag on these custom roms, but I want a stock rom.
-Custom kernel with stock rom.
-I flashed back to KE2 and I haven't had any lag on there but I want to run the latest version because of the battery on 2.3.3.
Can someone help me?
Are you using any power save apps and/or internal power saving? That could have something to do with it.

2.3.3 or 2.3.4?
Can someone help me?
hmmm... still have the problem no solution found yet.
It could be the google widgets. Youtube and gallery do it for me. So far I am thinking that 2.3.3 is the least buggy...
Why not try a custom rom with stock looks + custom kernel, if not, try setcpu and check ondemandx or higher scaling, or you can also try watchdog app from market to if there any app or service eating the processor.
Cognition X2 is the custom "stock" ROM. You might try that.
I see a similar issue if I use certain governors in setcpu. Using the performance governor however seems to resolve it immediately. If you need a kernel recommendation try Siyahs latest.

That theme is for 2.3.3, you are no 2.3.4 and hence the error.
You need to boot to download mode and flash an appropriate firmware.
ok could you please show me how like step1,step2 etc because i really need my phone but now its useless to me unless i can get it to work.

Right here man don't panic. Unless you try unlocking your phone no brick is has no solutions
thank you so f***ing much man i was s***ing bricks at that moment(i value and care about my things a lot) but what i did is use ODIN to put Gingerbread 2.3.4 back into my phone and now its ok........so where can i find themes that will work on my gingerbread 2.3.4???

Be sure to check the theme for descriptions as to what firmware it is for. For example KPH will be 2.3.4 and you'll be safe to flash the theme for it. CODEROM too is 2.3.4, so themes compatible/made for it will be compatible with yours.
DO REMEMBER TO DEODEX. I don't know if odexed firmware can be themed, but I have a feeling it will. But just in case the opposite is true, deodex just in case.
so if i see [KPH][THEME] it should work on my gingerbread 2.3.4??? but i must deodex just to be sure it properly works??

- Do a factory reset, it is recommended after software upgrade or downgrade
- switch to custom kernel if the problem persists
Good luck
Swyped from my Galaxy SII
yes
Yes, on ICS the battery drain was very fast while using wifi or screen on sometimes it drained 1% in 1 sec so in 10 mins 10%.
I am currently on stock gingerbread rom (rooted)
I few minutes back installed one live wall paper and noticed that screen use to come up after few seconds. After uninstall the same screen has not come up.
But still i can see awake 3m (188 secs) 16.1%.
thanks

Speedmod kernel, make sure you are flashing the gingerbread version.
Flashing an ICS kernel will result into bootloops
Swyped from my Galaxy SII
i would like to recommend u to use stock kernel
and make sure to do a full wipe also format / system before flashing
a stock rom (untouched) and check ur battery if drain fast... then u should replace it ...
Too bad you are running GB. I am on JB with Siyah Kernel 4.0.1 and it works fine running around 16to 26hours using as a normal phone

this is due to the fact that your battery reading is still inaccurate, the fuel gauge is trying to settle down/calibrate your battery.
Ps: if you can reupgrade back to ICS, I'm sure I'll be able to narrow down and fix your battery drain issue

since you presently have root access, you can just flash a custom stock based Rom, with less bugs all the way.
It's faster and safer than using kies or whatever they call it

Not bricked but.. need help

looked at similar threads but not found what im looking for
i tried a new rom last night whih made my phone freeze and trying i could reboot as after 2 seconds it would hang. ended up flashing firmwre via odi which was fine.
tonight tried to reroot my phone using the S3 toolkit which i used fist time round. everything seemed to go as planned but then when it came to reboot.. s3 toolkit aid all successful but i was getting a black screen.
i can hear the samsung logo load up but cant see it.
I can boot into recovery and download mode. what do I do??.. reflash latest 4.1.1 firmware via Odin?
If this works how best to go about rooting as i dont know if i want to try the s3 toolkit again if it clearly didnt work (although all messages pointed to that it did)
Thanks in advance

[Q] Bootloop on pure Stock

Hey guys,
I know you guys probably think oh god not another boot loop thread, but i couldn't find someone with the same problem as this one. I don't own a s2 myself but my friend does and he doesnt understand a thing about android. He has never updated his phone, it's not rooted or unlocked or anything. But a few days ago the phone randomly shut down and went into a bootloop. I tried to wipe his cache via the recovery menu but that didn't work. Then i did a factory reset and that sort of worked, the phone worked again but yesterday it did the same thing. he likes the phone the way it is so he'd rather not update it.
Does anybody know what could cause this bootloop and what he can do to fix it? If he has to update is there a safe way to update but stay on gingerbread? I myself own a Xperia Arc, i know that flashing roms through flashtool is pretty safe, is there anything like that for the S2?
thx in advance
(system information)
You would use Odin instead of flashtool. You can get the rom from sammobile.
First check he can get into download mode.....

ah oke thx, waht thread would you refer me to for a quick odin guide? and doesn't gingerbread have better battery life on the S2? Some of my other friends are running ics on the s2 but they are having a horrible batterylife compared to my phone while the arc has a smaller battery.
