I SUGGEST you to hold the update
Ics update will be available worldwide in few weeks
So just update directly to ICS
[Edit] and please don't create new threads for such topics
Use Q/A thread
try search, but it can't work, so i found no other questions like this.
Sorry if i'm not clever as you.
Try with update service: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/

Did this really warrant a new thread? Ask your questions on which ever thread you've tried.
ya bro your right iv shouldnt open a thread for that.
i just didnt ask simple question in an opened thread cuz i had to many different questions -part of them are words ,like shortcuts that i didnt understand.
and the other reason is that i had no time i gtg soon..
nvm sorry for doing this

ok ill just ask my questions here.. first general info.
my phone is from france- and im from israel
some 1 unlocked it for me (paid for it) to work in israel.
and now- i want to update to 2.1
i dont want to wait for france update (anyways i get no benefit of that) so i undarstand that i should flash, and than somehow use 2.1 rom.
1.what is seus? is it same as pcc? how should i update my phone before flashing? *because i downloaded pcc and checked there for updates via support zone and was told that i have the lattest version (phone was mounted ) but i read that the phone should be in flash mode when u do the drivers thing(with pcc or seus idk).
2.to what version should i rebrand?
*i was reading in this forum since the nordic generic was out but now i see "Global World Firmware 2.1" etc..
3.if i flash, upgrade version or anything else..can i loose the unlock for my country? is there an easy way to do it anyway?(unlock divice to work in country X)
4. when i tried to flash i got an error, but i tried few ways (including from other forums) so now i download the file from Bin4ry and will ask about the error after i got it- for now answer me about my 3 first questions please

No, SEUS is just a program to update your phone, where as PCC can do it, but also allows you to manage your phone, to a degree, but I prefer to use SEUS.

Flashing will wipe your phone if you choose, so it's irrelevant.

No, if you unlock a phone to use any sim card it doesn't matter which country you're in.

ye bro i get u but i didnt mean that
1.i read that i need to check for avialable updates in SEUS before flash or use rom - so i dont know how to get that done (where i get SEUS?)
2. i know that ill decide - i just know nothing about that, and thats why i ask for your advice (if it doesnt matter ill just do nordic, but u get my question..)
3.it wasnt reguilar sim-free , it was unlocked to work in my country
4.yep thats what i said i will do but i just didnt understand some explanations, first i got to do the SEUS thing as was writen in the guides, so i waited till i get to that point of error (or see if i will get) and then ask..

Hello everyone, i own a MT11i Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V.
Yesterday i received a notification to update from 4.0.A.0.42 to 4.0.A.0.46. I downloaded the update and i started the 4-step installation process. The 3 first steps proceeded fine but at the 4th step, the update stopped and the phone restarted.
I should mention that i had rooted my phone with UnlockRoot utility. After the unsuccessful update, i removed root with UnlockRoot again but the exact same thing happened.
If you need any more info please let me know. Thanks in advance!
Wrong Section,
did you try to install it using Sony Pc Companion ?
if so try Update using SEUS utility ..

Oh, I am sorry i guess this should go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1277
Ill keep that in mind next time. Anyway, this actually worked my friend thank you so much! Can you think of an explanation for the issue? In any case your help is much appreciated.
you're welcome
I don't know, what's wrong with PC Companion, so many peoples are complaining the same issue about update, and its already forward to Sony complain centre, maybe they'll look at it in the next release,

Hmm I see how it is. Thanks for letting me know about these tools, I am new to Android.
Hello, folks.
At first, sorry for my bad English.
I have an Xperia Neo V (MT11a), and I figured out that changing the build.prop file to make my phone "pretend" to be a MT11i would make my phone able to play some HD games. And yeah, it works. But I am having some issues on some games (specially Modern Combat 3) that I suspect that should end by upgrading my firmware.
So, as I am seeing now by reading the forum threads, it seems that my firmware version is quite old (4.0.1.A.0.283, running Android 2.3.4).
I really searched the forum about how to upgrade my firmware, but all threads I faced stated that having the 4.0.2.A.0.42 is a primary requirement; I didn't find a thread about upgrading from 4.0.1.A.0.283 to a newer one.
So, how can I upgrade my firmware? Because, here in Brazil, PC Companion always reports that my phone is up to date (but we know that it is not!).
Waiting for an answer, and thanks in advance.
Sir search for sony ericsson update service application for your pc..
(can't post URL cause i'm using only my phone)
Use it if pc companion are not working..
If i helped tou!! Pls press thanks button..)))

Why don't you install pc companion, connect phone to pc and press check for updates
@OP: ether go to wotan server which I advise since it's simple for new guys. or you can flash .ftf file with flashtool
ftf file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445974
flashtool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351317

Then you gotta use flashtool, read flash tool guide on the link down
[FLASHTOOL GUIDE] HOW TO for n00bies - G-FACE GUIDE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10879507#post10879507
Then use the link down to download 0.42 ftf file and flash with flashtool, backup everything like contacts, apps, sms etc... before flashing as you will loose everything in the phone and after the flash it will be like brand new from the factory.

I agree, it's the same situation in Croatia, the updates come a bit later so you will have to flash it manually. I tried both and got no updates for .62 i think.
Actually...the newbies(i wont use noobies...it sounds kinda offensive) are a bit scared to tinker upon their new phones...they do search...but rely upon the seniors for assurance...but it is a boring task to answer again and again same type of queries.

I had the same problem with my MT15i but one day crossed my fingers and used Wotan. If you are afraid about command lines and other stuff like I was before I suggest you try wotan, it's very intuitive and simple.

First of all dont create new threads without searching. 99.9% times the solution is already there.
Secondly follow these steps in the thread below and you'll have stock unrooted ICS back.

If PCC or SEUS still say that you are on latest fw, only thing you can do is flash .ftf file with flash tool.
For more info read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678690
Before update, you can save your original CDF number if you ever wanna go back to original fw, which you have now on your phone. If yes, then read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604559

Some days ago rolled out the 2.0.3 version and I wanted to try it!!!!
I followed this step in order to get my Neo upgraded, as stated in this post:

My phone is rooted and bootloader locked.
I take a tour on this site ad google in order to find some solutions.
I tried these:
via SUSE, I tried to reapply the original ROM, but the SUSE program says there is no update for my phone because is already up to date!
via PC Companion, trying to repair but I got the same answer: there is no update for my phone because is already up to date!
via flashtool, I tried to flash the original ROM .587
I didn't manage to repair my phone... I always get the logo SONY during boot.... and nothing more.
I'm really sad... Any help is very appreciate.

Just force reinstallation via SEUS. It should give you that option (wipe data + factory reset)
