It has to be flashed twice....even if it's being flashed over an existing MIUI build

Do install the ROM twice and also go into CWM and wipe data cache everything again and give a try

yeah i flashed it twice went with qbking video and to no success .. maybe if i download jokers recovery v2 but how do you flash a zip recovery ?? Thank you all!!

You can flash it in cwm like you would any other zip.
Edit: the recovery shouldn't be the problem tho; it's the same one I'm using with no problems.

Your phone might not like going to 1.3 have you ever been able to flash a cm9 or cm9 based ROM? When you say you already unrooted what exactly do you mean...... This is my suggestion if your willing.....
Relock/Flash 1986 or 1987 your choice....
Unlock/root/rom racer cwm using the pack Loki provides in the compendium..... Then once you are confirmed rooted, unlocked, rr cwm..... Flash jokers newest recovery (I'm only suggesting this recovery because its what I use) after flashing the recovery reboot recovery, format system, data, cache..... Flash miui 2.4.13 two times one after the other.... Reboot phone this should get you running.....
If its a kernel issue as in the above statements don't work try flashing a cm9 kernel joker has Oleg/petr has gl bud hope some of that helps ill keep checking back..... Will keep trying to get you booted
MIUI/ICS for the Photon
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1536161

can i get the threads for the other ones?? thanks will try!! sorry im also rooted unlocked and have cmw..
update: tried to flash miui rom again but had motorola boot screen for like 25 seconds then went black lit then powered off then back to motorola boot screen again... PLZ help if you can!! also fix my permissions and still nothing this is my first rom that im trying to flash to my photon and its frustrating!how long should it take to boot up?

so i tried that method still no success any more ideas??

Need help with evo 3d stuck at boot screen

Hey guys maybe some budy can help, I can go into recovery and wipe data, cache etc.. but for some reason I can't run any rom that runs with sence they all get stuck at boot screen, the phone freezes,.. but I can intall miui through fastboot and everything runs ok, rom boots it doesn't get stuch what's happening, by the way I unrooted the phone the HTC way so I'm on 1.5..
You need to reinstall a different kernel through fastboot usb. If miui works then a sense rom won't until you flash compatible kernel.

Similar problem being stuck in boot screen
I am on twrp shooter 2.0 with hboot 1.5 and I was running syncombelite when I tried to in stall the CM9 Alpha build and I was not having luck with loading the rom through recovery so I tried to use Flash image GUI. It loaded the image but after it was done it would not boot. I was stuck on the HTC boot screen. I tried to do a nandroid recovery and the same thing over and over. I figured maybe try a different rom so I tried a couple.. I used one and it actually made it past the boot screen and loaded the Beats audio logo then was stuck there for maybe 30 minutes before I tried a reboot and the same thing. Then I though I wll do a superwipe so I downloaded the synergy superwipe along with the
fresh-evo-3d-4.2.0 then it made it past the HTC boot and just went black for another 30 minutes. Now I am at a loss. Please help me...

The recovery you use shouldn't matter. I have used CWM touch and non and TWRP all the same as long as it works for you. The easy way to flash CM9 is to use FlashImageGUI.apk before you wipe your current rom. Do not wipe ROM before using FlashGUI as it needs a OS to run on.
First flash recovery, whichever you want. If you don't already have one.
Put CM9 on sd
Flash boot.img from CM9.zip with Flash...GUI.apk (browse to CW9 on sd card)
Boot recovery, Flash rom from there.
(Flash..GUI should ask if you want to boot recovery after flash)
I used TWRP to flash CM9 tonight so I know it works 100%
I have tried that and I get stuck at HTC boot screen. I'm at a loss. I finally got virus eternity to flash using fastboot on my pc. I then tried ics (yes I know that's not what we were talking about) but I can't flash many different Roms lately. It's just weird. I have been rooting and flashing for a couple years now but I'm feeling more noobish lately than ever.

[SOLVED] CM7 Not booting

Alright, I hate to be THAT GUY who posts a CM7 question, but I can not find it in the CM7 question post.
Heres my problem.
I have an unlocked bootloader, Tenfar's recovery, and I've flashed other ROMs, and I was pretty good at this stuff on the Motorola Bravo. When I flash it, everything goes fine, then ill reboot, and it wont get past the boot screen. The Motorola Dual Core Technology one, it doesnt even get to the boot screen. I thought it was a kernel problem, but Im using Home Base with Faux, and that works fine. Any ideas?
Im using 4.5.91. Thanks guys
Did you perform a factory reset after you flashed CM7?? If not - thats why it wont boot. you MUST factory reset to get CM7 to boot.
I did indeed. But I also wiped Cache and Dalvik, should I skip those and just do Factory reset?

Ohh ok, I didnt realize the recovery I used mattered. Now, to install that recovery, I would just install like normal off the market, right? Even though Ive already got tenfars installed?
Get rid of tenfars - its useless with CM7 - use Rom Manager's CWM or RomRacer's CWM from here on XDA - Both work just fine with CM7

[Q] Bricked Phone??? Stuck at HTC Splash Screen

This is embarrassing but I think I might have just bricked my phone. I'm hoping that there is a work around. Please let me know if you need more info to possibly help me.
I was running:
1. SIM Unlocked/Rooted T-Mobile Amaze 4G with 1.43.531.3 Radio
2. BulletProof 2.41 Rom
3. Faux123 Kernal v.0.0.8 [Jan 22]
4. Have Clockwork Recovery Installed
I've been dealing with constant reboots since I bought the phone new. I saw that someone posted in the Energy Rom thread that when they installed his Rom that the reboots went away. So I decided to try his.
I then:
1. Grabbed the Stock Kernal Flasher and tried to flash back to the stock kernal using Xboarders Easy Flasher. Everything seemed to go fine.
2. Phone rebooted and Its just stuck at the HTC Logo.
Any options for me? I did try to restore from my last ROM backup using CWM (which I figured was futile) but that didn't change anything.
Thanks for your help on this. I love this phone but I just couldn't keep dealing with the constant reboots. Now I'm really hosed
Reflash the kernel again...maybe it didn't write everything.

Thanks for the reply,
I used Windows to flash the phone's kernal. It won't recognize the device since its stuck at the logo.
If there is a way to flash the kernal in Recovery (I'm still S-On with unlocked bootloader) please let me know and I'll try it that way..

i think the problem is using the stock kernel.
take out the battery, use the vol down+power buttons to boot into hboot, then boot into fastboot, flash the kernel appropriate to the rom your using, dont just use stock, and then reflash your rom. always remember to do a full wipe

Thanks for your suggestion. Before I saw your reply, I decided to flash the Energy Rom since it had the Stock kernal built into it. I fortunately already had the rom on my SD card so I went into Recovery and flash that rom.
FORTUNATELY, the phone rebooted successfully after rom flash to the new rom. My phone is still using Faux123's kernal so the Energy rom didn't flash the stock kernal after all. But my phone is working again!!!
Thanks for everyone's help. I guess I'll just leave the Faux123 kernal on it and be satisfied with that with the Energy rom. Hopefully the constant reboots will go away.

Thanks to S-ON the kernel will not flash when you flash a rom. You have to flash the kernel separately using the kernel flash utility.
I'm running the Energy rom using the stock kernel from his thread and am loving it. Battery life is great. I've heard that battery life is not so good with faux.
No worries needed... glad you figured it out. The good news though about having S=on is that it's virtually impossible to brick. I'm pretty sure I've read posts from members saying good luck trying to brick it.
I'm sure if you edit the right code in the build.prop, you might be able to brick it, but even then you should still be able to boot into recovery.

bootlooping hard resets all the fun stuff my phone is doing

so i try to turn on wifi and ses error and hard resets and then just randomly does it so i tried flashing a different rom well 4 of them actually and none of them fixed it then i tried to sbf with 183 with pudding then it wouldnt even loadn up it would get to the att logo then reboot and go off with the red light flashing finally i had to fast boot to get clockwork mod then flashed another rom and its still doing it any one got an answer to this crap
Engrish Prease?
If I'm getting that right, you bootlooped, tried flashing 4 roms without wiping, then decided to sbf?
Well... Fastboot wipe, try flashing any rom using the latest romracer recovery, and hope that you didn't HARD BRICK YOUR PHONE BECAUSE YOU USED AN SBF.

Still don't know whether you're on the latest recovery (romracer's or CWM touch). That could be an issue. If you aren't getting failed to boot message, then it's almost certainly a software issue. Were it my atrix, I would ask myself:
Am I still getting the white unlocked text after that SBF?
1. If not, then unlock, wipe, and flash a rom using the latest recovery, and NEVER touch another SBF
2. If so, try a more thorough wipe if possible. Use every fastboot erase and make sure that your downloaded ROM isn't corrupted. Then do the rest of 1. minus unlocking, of course.
I have the latest rom racer recovery and the sbf I flashed was 1.83 with pudding I got it mostly functional again by restoring a backup I had. but still if I try to turn on wifi it will say error and the bootlooping starts all over again . That seems to be what is causing it. And yes the unlocked is still at the top of the moto logo.

I am s-off and using the latest 4ext recovery. I upgraded from revolutionary CMW to 4ext so i could try CM9. It was alright but nothing special. Afterwards i tried to update to the latest vitrous sense 4.0 rom and i couldn't get past with the boot animation. Every single ROM i tried has been like this. Im wiping the data before I flash and using supewipe.zip. I never faced issue with CMW is it the recovery or am i doing something wrong?

how long are you waitng at this boot screen... i know when i installed CM9 it took over 5 minutes at the boot screen to set it all up ... flash GUI is an app to flash roms from the phones ROM but you wont use that ...which part of the boot are you getting stuck at... the one with the CM9 logo and the rotating electric ? or at the first splash screen showing the htc logo?

have you tried extracting the boot.img file from your ROM and then manually flashing it? try MeanROM 2.3 as well its a new one that is ICS based and loads fairly fast ... atleast i had no issues with it...also on your first time boot make sure the phone is NOT plugged up to the data cable
i dont know if you know this but if you download the PG86IMG from Goo im you can put that on the root of your sd card which is the first thing you see when you click sd card you can run that from bootloader and reset the phone

4ext works great, under wipe, select wipe dalvich + cache, then the format all partitions(besides sd card) option near the bottom.
Then flash your Rom, by chance is 4extsmartflash on? That's for s on devices so turn it off if enabled, as you are s off.

just to make it simple download the file ad rename it to recovery.img and move it to the same place the fastboot.exe is located... take your phone and boot into your hboot by holding volume down and then the power button.. scroll down to the fastboot option and press the power button... youll see the screen change and then plug your phone up to your computer you should see on your phone screen now the phrase "fastboot usb"... from there open up a ms-dos window and direct yourself to the directory with the fastboot.exe and recovery.img files.. then type in
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
it should send and then write , when completed power your phone and then reboot into recovery and it should be then revclockmod version...and probs feel free to PM me
Happen before
This is something that happened me to me before, my problem was I erased a bunch of important stuff and tried to install a kernel using recovery. I'm on hboot 1.50 so yeah **** turn messy. But I unrooted, then re-rooted and used GUI to flash my kernel of any choice but ext to flash my rom. Revolutionary recovery doesn't work too good on my phone, so it also varies depending on recovery:fingers-crossed:, just word of advice do a factory reset+wipe dalvich cache(do it at least 2 times) and it has worked for me whenever I flash a new rom. Whenever you reboot give it some time and don't rush or press anything. Once your rom kicks in let it sit for at least a couple mins and then proceed with whatever you need to do. Hope this helps!
