Volume button - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Volume up just dosen't feel right to me, when I push the volume down I can feel it working, when I push the volume up I cant feel anything, but volume go's up. I thought that when I first got my Note both buttons felt the same. Anyone else having an issue with the volume button?

Is it like your not feeling the click when you hit the up volume or just feels like mushi? Lol maybe you got something wet inside and it was sticky?

Yes it feels like it dosen't push in at all, i have to push it harder than normal to get it to work.

[Q] Clicky Home button - Faulty?

Hi guys,
I have Clicky Home button - is it faulty?
By clickly I mean, it makes a unnatural sound when pressed, almost as if it sticking. The noise is noisy and not silent
The reason I have noticed this is because my brother has just had his delivered and its perfect on his. Do I have a faulty phone?
Your click is faulty. Nothing more I think it'd go away after pressing the button frequently.

I've had the phone for around 3 months, I doubt it will go away
Did you find solution? Could you replace your phone?
Hope you did!
Had my phone since they 1st came out and dont have any issues with the home button.
Has not changed at all. No loosening or strange clicking. I rarely use the power button but instead use the home button to turn on so it gets a good workout.

Mine is not like is loose, but is not as "firm" as the volumen rocker and the power buttom.
How about yours? Can you "shake" you finger over the Home and the button moves?
I'd say my home button is as snug a fit as the power and volume buttons but more sensitive to being pressed.

Build quality of Power and Back Button

Hi,
I have 2 questions:
First
Is the power Button on your devices jiggling to? Mine seems to have one contact point in the middle but both ends (top & bottom) can be pressed down a little bit without actually pressing the button. You can feel this very good with going up and down over the key with a little preassure...
Second
There are two capacitive buttons on the device as you know: the options and the back button. I dont know if its made by design but my back button isnt as responsive as the option one. Sometimes it misses presses. Especially if i press really soft. The option button is catching all actions no matter if hard or soft. This happens mostly when backlight of the back button is off.
Could you please check this on your units.
I love this phone but these both little things drive me crazy.

Yeah my power button's the same so only time will tell if it's badly designed, and both capacitive buttons feel about the same, and if anything I find the screen a bit too sensitive.
Do you mean the home button or the power button on the top right side of the unit?

I mean the Power Button on the side of the unit.

Galaxy S3 Home button clicking sound

Hello Guys,
I am having the weird issue of the home button making a clicking noise whenever its pressed at the middle of the button, if pressed at the edges it does not make any sound. The button as such look and feel sturdy.
Is this normal or is it a defect and can be replaced in warranty?
Also the sound can only be heard in a relatively quite room..
Kindly move it if it is not the appropriate thread in this section
Home button does clicking sound on every s3 i quess, so i think it's normal.
Thanks for that jnr21, However i was asking this because, some of my friends reported they do not have any sound coming while pressing the home button though i have not verified it first hand from their device.
I have a clicking sound when pressing the middle hard enough. If i press it on the side and dont use very much force, it still registers as a press, but the button itself doesn't make the click sound. I think its pretty normal considering the construction of the button
Exactly the same thing i am also facing However i have also read elsewhere that for some people it does not make any clicking sound and the device can be replaced in such a case. Any idea about this?
I get this as well always thought utilities was normal, not causing any problems so there's no problems for me

This clicking is news to me. I don't hear any clicking from my S3.
There are reports of rattling too from near the top of the phone. I don't hear any rattles either though.
I think I prefer a non-clicking and non-rattling S3, although some other peeps prefer some clicks and rattles.
I dont have a clicking sound, but a do get a click feel when pushing the button.
The first to days I didnt get any click at all and I wasnt sure when the button was actually pressed.
Evey time I would push the button it would squish down. I was sure that the reason was that the button was too "new" and that it needed to be "broken in". I gave it a few days of use and now the button works perfectly. I get the clicking feeling but no sound.

My first S2 had that issue. Well wouldn't call it an issue, more of an irritant.
The following S2s I've owned after that didn't have the clicking sound. As long as the button works and doesn't get stuck I wouldn't call it a defect.
Well did ur first s2's button went bad after some use?
It's just that I wud have more peace of mind if it dint make any sound....

My home button works wonderfully. Its flush with the phone. Like someone else said, if pressed soft it doesn't make a clicking sound, but if pressed quickly, it will. I don't think every GSIII has exactly the same home button. I also don't think its worth it to return one because it clicks. I mean if its not working thats another story. When mine does make a clicking sound, its noticeable, yet 100% in working order as it should.

Power and Volume buttons

Just want to make sure it's not just mine...
Does the volume rocker buttons have more of a "click" to them than the power button for anyone else?
I notice a slight difference, but nothing that major.
Mine feel the same

I never noticed it before but ya, mines the same. My power button doesn't click at all but the volume buttons both do. I don't really care either was about the clicking etc, so I'll assume its gonna last forever

It takes getting used to, but I've come to like it. If you have your phone on your desk for instance, you can just press the home button to see your notifications or the time, instead of having to hold the phone while pressing the power button. It also makes it easier to not accidentally press it when using the phone.
For me it's the opposite. My power button makes more of a click sound than my volume buttons.
I have a galaxy nexus but my volume button is way more clicky than my power button. This never really bothered me and makes sense in a way considering one is a two part button and the other is a one part button. A volume rocker should be clicky anyways so you know you pushed it.
