I posted some comments about the organisation of the 2011 Xperia forums at the end of my long post here (including the weird categorisation of the Ray):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24907617#post24907617
It would be interesting to get some more opinions over there as this would affect all 2011 Xperia model owners.
PS: Please also help us Xperia Pro owners out by voting too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416406
Hi,
I agree with many of the things you said and the ideas you put forward. It's a shame that it was previously difficult to get heard on this matter, but I see a number of people are now paying attention.
I've long supported some changed like this. Most recently it's for my newest device, the Xperia Mini 2011. I think oddly enough, the 2010 devices were organised much better.
For Mini users, take a look at the Sony Ericsson devices listed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/filter.php?cat=sonyericsson-android
See how the 2010 X10 Mini is laid out? It's so smooth and clear, you don't have to hunt down various ROMS. There is even a special Questions & Answers thread which clears up questions from the other threads.
I hugely appreciate the volunteer work that XDA and members commit which we all benefit. I support a few changes here and there to keep the place running smoothly.
I've already mentioned changing the Xperias' forums' structure here: LINK.
This thread is now closed, you already made a thread like this in another XDA forum.

I am at bit confused as to why the forums including the dev section is strating to fill up with posts and system folders for other devices?
do these device share such similar specs that the builds are cross device compatible?
if not, why are they posted here and not in the android general section where people normally post regarding non listed devices. I have never seen a forum fill up with posts about other devices so much and it definitely takes attention away from the xperia S posts.
cheers
Because until U and P don't get dev attention, they will not have they own page. And here it's better because it don't get lost between many other posts, as those are devices are close to XS.
so is that how every new device gets its own subtree forum?

More or less. As I said, there are two ways of a device to have it's own forum: developement is getting bigger fast and users asking. There is a topic somewhere in About XDA section that have the devices that users were requesting. Devices like Neo have it's own forum, but Neo V only had it's sub forum under Neo because the differences between them is small (just some camera files).
i think this sub forum needs to be changed to Sony Xperia NXT seeing as how the threads here revolve around the Xperia S, P, U... and so on.
just a suggestion. use it dont use it!
Common Let's not get so harsh now. Most of the threads are about our XS. Yes there are a few threads related to rest of the 2012 Xperia range but only because they have no dedicated forum yet.

Oops, I'm sorry Well I have some threads about 2012 line, but please understand this
We devs and a lot of users are waiting for a seperate forum for the new devices but until then we will post everything in XS forums. Only then we can improve the chance for a dedicated forum for the other devices
i suppose. cant wait for the xperia P to be launched here in south africa. will be frequenting that sub forum alot then.
Ok just going to ask the questions here in the hope that someone can point me in the right direction.
Firstly I have this major issue with the signal bars going up and down, I've seen it drop from 4 bars to 0 in the blink of an eye. This is happening all the time an just seems like the phone has a real issue in this regard (seen some videos on youtube etc). Anyone know of a solution to this?
I spoke with Sony support today who fail to recognise the problem even exists. I also asked about ics update and was told it was rolling out as we speak however I've read nothing about this anywhere, usually when its out the guys on here are quick to get it. I am desperately hoping this might solve my problems.
The software on this phone seems particularly full of bugs, more so than any other xperia phone I have owned.
I love the design etc but really need a phone that does the basics and gives some reliability. Might have to go back to my iPhone if I can't sort this quickly.

Sony Xperia S General forum
Please be aware there are multiple forums for the Xperia s, so make sure you post to the correct forum to ensure your post gets the best visibility and so that the forums stay organized.
The "Sony Xperia S" General forum is for tips, tricks, news, etc. about the Xperia S, NOT for questions.
For all questions about your Xperia S, please go to the Q & A section.
If you feel that the most appropriate forum for your post is not 100% clear, then use your best judgement.
Any non-related threads will be moved to the appropriate forum or closed.
Repeat offenders will be infracted/banned.
Duplicate Threads.
In addition, please do a search before starting a brand new thread. Duplicate threads make it harder for other users to find the information they need efficiently. If your thread is a duplicate, it may be closed but an explanation will be given. No offense is intended, so don't take it personally, but please understand that it's all for the benefit of yourself and others. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask the mods.
Thanks!

I know requests don't belong here, but I usually go to the development threads for tutorials and repositories on all things root and we don't have one.
Hopefully that can be done by some generous Ultra Soul!

I made one at the swedish forum but idk I don't have much free time nowadays. And coming from HTC, I noticed there isn't much talk in the SONY part of Swedroid.
Before I made one for HTC One X
http://www.swedroid.se/forum/showthread.php?t=77783
I started a bit on the Z U but..as I said. SONY users on Swedroid are either shy or not that willing to discuss. Not just in the Z U part but in the SONY part of the forum in general. It's one reason I came to XDA.
http://www.swedroid.se/forum/showthread.php?t=100254
I'll give it a thought if there's not anyone else out there who perhaps is already working on a guide
edit: a user started one right now :good:
Awesomely appreciated
I would like to clarify first that I am in no way a developer, but rather just an Android tester like many of you. The person to receive credit for this is @zachariahpope for doing this.
He was just gone for a while and I was willing to share for many of your anxious, yet bored users of one of the greatest phones Verizon has had.
