i like the LWW bcoz its thinner
Wt19 vs sk17
ive used both phones before, for me WT19 is better
SK17 got keyboard n LED-backlit LCD,WT19 got dual dpeakers (i must say its speakers are PHENOMENAL!)
Pro VS Walkman
right now i have wt19i and both have their advantages and disadvantages
wt19i
dual speaker,with xLOUD enhancement
no bravia engine and qwerty keyboard
xperia mini pro
got qwerty keyboard
no dual speaker
and i am happy with my walkman

xmp - for heavy texters or social networking types.
lww - sound freaks
well if you really want sounds, then you can plug in a headset that has better sounds and voila!!
you wont have a plug in qwerty for the LWW right?
My take: if you want qwerty, go for the XMP, if it's not that important, go for XM or LWW. If having a portable boom box is important to you, by all means go LWW.
The two phones together would be legen.. wait for it.. ..dary!

Alternative solution is a external QWERTY keyboard for LWW, I have seen some over Bluetooth, although trying to find one via microUSB connectivity and so it could be "packed" together.

Man, can't imagine how weird my LWW will look with an "external" keyboard
Have both. Prefer XMP for the QWERTY keypad. The LWW does have better speakers but it's easy enough to add portable speakers to the XMP. There's no difference in sound quality between the XMP and LWW via the headphone jack, anyway. Using a bluetooth keyboard, however, can be quite awkward. The LWW does have a slightly bigger screen but it's barely noticeable.
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/mini-b...nce-nokia-symbian-s60-cellphones-silver-37864
well i dont think this will fullfill it, but in my view XMP comes in handy with a built in qwerty keyboard
The big advantage of LWW has over XMP is its battery life, LWW easily survives double time compared to XMP. and this is very normal because of keyboard lights and display bravia engine eats up a good % of battery charge on XMP.
so if u r quite outgoing and doesnt always carry charger/usb cable with laptop - LWW is the solution for u (yes, u might have to forget about the physical keyboard and amazing display)
LWW has another minor advantage, its stereo speaker. so if u always miss ur ringtone, or keep ur phone inside bag, or like to play loudspeaker music to ur friends - u can have LWW. this thing is really LOUD.
but i guess, using XMP will give u such magnificent experience that LWW wont be able to deliver, experiences in (1) bravia engine display, best in the market, (2) typing in physical keyboard, (3) tiny size making it usable with single hand.
compared to the 2nd para, if u r more into office, always carry ur laptop and usb charge cable, go for WMP. oh yes, although i havent checked, i heard XMP supports video call (i.e. skype) but LWW doesnt.
anyway.shuvro said:

According to me Xperia MDPI comparison
XMP(2 camera, hw keyboard) > LWW(2 cam, 2 speaker) > XM(one cam) > Active(same as XM, just a bit stronger )

After Installing it the phone works faster than before.
But now I noticed that the camera is too cloudy with less details than the gingerbread camera.
And also the speaker sound is also too low than the GB sound.

the low speaker sound is killing me
can anyone help with this plzz

Rooting................
Does all of you tried rooting your phones.......................... :silly::silly:if yes then search the forum you'll get lots of mods to suite your needs but first search.................................................:laugh:
camera and sound
Camera issued can be solved by using camera mods. there's a lot here in the forum. some is integrated in the ROM like what i'm using now, WALKMAN Style Rom.
one thing that i can't solve is when using panorama or 3d camera, it becomes dark.
about the sound, theres a walkman mod, it gives sound enhancement but not to make it "LOUD" just a better experience in listening in music.
Xperia mini speaker is really low. can't play music in speaker mode, its hard to hear. hehehe..
Im thinking about buying an xperia neo, because i want hdmi and front camera.I have had a few x10s and ended up using oodie prime miui for the last 6 months before getting my xperia ion. I loved miui and it was nice that the x10 had a lanyard hook and worked well with the rom. When I got the xperia ion almost a month ago I realized I missed my x10 with miui.. Im now looking to get a neo, if the miui is as good and stable as the one I had on x10. Heres what I want, relating to miui on neo.
1) Hold home key on lockscreen for torch flashlight
2) Hold volume up/down to change tracks while screen locked (mod)
3) call recording
4) Working blacklist and firewall.
5) hdmi
6) front camera
If all this works Im returning my Ion and getting the neo. It seems the neo is like an x10 with more function, just what I want.

I'm using Neo V(Unlocked bootloader) with MIUI 2.9.7 rom by ZduneX25 and i love it.It is based on stock Sony .587 firmware so far so good..for elegance stock rom is nothing infront of MIUI..:good:
I can confirm the following things
1) Hold home key on lockscreen for torch flashlight- Working
2) Hold volume up/down to change tracks while screen locked (mod)-Didn't checked that yet
3) call recording - Works with latest NightElf 1.5 Kernel
4) Working blacklist and firewall - Working
5) hdmi - Working
6) front camera - Working
Now the decision is yours

Thank you for the nice response! Now a few more questions if you will.
1) Do led notifications work?
2) Does night elf kernel come with the rom or can you provide a link please?
Either way I am ordering the phone, and I hope to contribute to this forum soon.
Why don't you get the Xperia S? It's about €350> now, if you wait a few month, it might be below €300. There's also official MIUI for the S.
But MIUI V4 is indeed very nice, no bugs, MaxWorks ports the update every week. Only downside is that it's very RAM hungry, you won't be able to use heavy apps smoothly (e.g. Maps, YouTube, Music player etc.), also games might close due to RAM shortage.

Led Notifications works and here is the link to NightElf kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566871
As sdk16420 said its little RAM hungry bcs we have only 512MB..Xperia S is a good option..
This is what i learned from ICS if u want to play with ICS and future android versions u need atleast 1GB RAM devices so best bet is to get Xperia S or anyother devices with 1GB RAM..:good:
Cheers..!
I had these files extracted from Xperia RAY latest ICS firmware with Unlocked BL. it worked on Xperia Neo, Ray, and Arc even I already unlocked the BL, but anyone who tried to use the Album app on any 2011 devices with unlocked BL, MBE is not working.
i managed to install this apps on my Acro S, it loads the Xperia Gallery but closes once it loads a pic.
Anyone in here who has the knowledge to make this files work on Xperia S and Acro, might help us experience BE on pics again.
Please cooperate.
Files...
here are the files..
I tried this earlier (with many more files); the gallery crashes (it's for GB ROMS). I also tried to use GB libraries from Xperia S past firmwares but even they don't work on ICS.
By the way, I was able to come to the point where the thumbnail loads before the full image in the GB gallery. In that momentary fraction, it appeared ordinary - i.e. the Bravia Engine probably wouldn't work even if the gallery app can be tweaked
The problem is perhaps in the libSwiqi.so (or similarly named file). That is present in ICS but was absent from GB. Replacing some of the other files associated with Bravia engine didn't break the video functionality in my tests, however alterations of this file made the engine stop working altogether (in videos as well ).
This issue is somewhat complex and the exact CAUSE and associated files are hard to determine
Screw Sony for not fixing this yet! It has been several months now...
-------
P.S. Can anyone with Xperia Arc / 2011 Xperia with working Bravia engine on unlocked bootloader upload that libSwiqi file?
ics files
this files are from xperia ray running ICS. not gingerbread mate.
got them from my xperia ray with unlocked bootloader yet be is working perfectly fine.
i could attach that file you want.. just a sec..
let us help each other in making this work.
others out there dont even care.
mate, i cant see any lib file that goes with the name libSwiqi
i saw someone who is claiming about successfully porting BE to other devices. can you help me analyze which file was used?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923630
lib file
got this one from acid sound mod files claiming to have BE ported properly.
saying that this file is from 2011 line up.
install the ones i have provided above, together with this mate. then tell me..
I wished I could use this gallery version instead of the Xperia s one.
Gesendet von meinem LT26i
Thanks for uploading the files mate. I'll test and report back.
So Xperia Ray still has this old gallery on ICS. We used to have a similar one (and with some different libraries) in GB. i.e. libSwiqiController wasn't present in the GB version of Xperia S as well. In ICS update, Sony added new libraries to control Bravia Engine and that must have messed up..
I'm convinced that the messed up files are the libraries and not the app itself. Would you also check something else: On your Xperia Ray, install QuickPic, turn HW rendering on from settings and check if Bravia Engine appears to work in that mode. (To get an idea about how closely the functioning of BE is related to the gallery app. I noticed that HW mode in 3rd party video players enables Bravia Engine ; maybe it's the same for photos as well)
quickpic
BE doesnt work on quickpic even with hardware acceleration.
and its a misconception with MX video mate. galaxy SII doesnt have MBE but it works the same way with GSII using MX video HW acceleration. i decided to put it under SW when i still have the GSII because it makes the colors less saturated.
MBE only works with sony apps.

Maybe u don't know that GS3 have a type of display rendering engine! There's are option like: dynamic, standard, or vivid, i forgot! That's y it's work the same way with GS3 or 2 or note! But i think that it's rendering engine isn't any better than Bravia engine!

Hmm.. so QuickPic doesn't work... :\
But as far as MX is concerned, it DEFINITELY uses Bravia on HW. (You can see that the colour saturation and contrast disappears when you turn Bravia off)
MX VIDEO
sorry mate but that is not the case from what i see.
mx video using hw+ also makes the sound louder and better. i think it does the same thing with hw for videos. it enhances something in the process but that is not BE.
then how can you explain it with my GALAXY SII? as you well know, the over rated super over saturated far from reality SUPERAMOLED PLUS will stress your eyes and will lead to head acheif you wont stop looking at it. much worst if you will watch a full length movie.
if you will turn off HW and put it under SW, it gives a more natural color look (taking off about 25%) of color saturation and contrast.
but if you turn it on, it will show something like the ones we experience on our 2012 xperia devices. bumping up colors and showing a less noisy output.
sony has made something magical yet a buggy software. no one managed to port MBE properly with other sony devices like xperia neo L, live with walkman and the good old xperia x10.
anyways, let us keep on searching till we get something to make it work.
any news about the xperia gallery from 2011 line up? i have sent an email to several talented devs, but no one seems to care. sorry if i am not a dev but i think you have a better understanding with programs, right?

oh and yes, GSII have those options as well. but you can only select those options under the display settings. and it also have 3 color tones available under the default video player.
but none of these color settings offers the same level of saturation and color accuracy compared to that of SW mode of MXVIDEO.

Hrm, if i compared the SW mode in Gs2 or 3 with xperia s, u'll see same effect! Now try to turn on Hardware acceleration and compare, they both enchance color due to the use of their hardware rendering engines while GS3 got those options, ours got bravia engine, but difcerent effect! If u try to turn off BE in Xperia S and switch between SW and HW there's NO difference! U can try!

How to bypass Xloud bug in any Xperia 2011 including hdpi devices running on GB&ICS
As we know that Xperia 2011 devices came with Stock Gb during the release... and had too many bugs when updated to ICS and one of them was Xloud which would enhance the internal speaker to double the music sound
i myself personally made a video for all of us to bypass the Xloud bug and enjoy the 100% music satisfaction in our devices
Things you need:
1. stock radio app from Sony
2. a wired headset
3. Sony's default music app or Walkman app mod(if rooted) [both are recommended]
little patience......
how to bypass the bug:
1. First play some music using your walkman or music app for about 20 to 25 seconds and pause the music
2. Now open the radio app and plug in the headset
3. Now press home button and open the walkman or music app and remove the headset(but don't play music now)
4.now play music once for 5 seconds if volume increased then fine have fun
5.if not pause the music after 5 seconds and play the song from beginning and for sure your music volume will increase
Tested thrice on the following devices:
Xperia Mini
Xperia Mini Pro
Xperia Live with Walkman
Xperia Neo
Xperia Neo V
Xperia Arc S
Xperia Arc
Tested only once on a strangers Xperia Active in a Public transport on 15/6/2013 3:25pm IST thanks to him
Credits to each and every person out on XDA!!:highfive: :highfive:

ROM is a matter of personal opinion. Whichever ROM a person chooses to use is because that ROM appeals to that individual. Therefore, it is not easy to suggest a ROM, as what a person likes is not necessarily what the other person would like.
Also it is not necessary to change a ROM to obtain good sound performance. There are enough sound mod in XDA to satisfy a person's need, without him or her changing a ROM. You can try Viper audio mod (which I would personally recommend, especially for the wide variety of opetions available) or the Acid audio mod or Beats audio mod etc. Sound performance would also depend on your music player. Players like PowerAmp, Player Pro etc, offer a lot of control over how the sound quality would be like.

Yeah ofc i know that, but on my secound phone i tryed alot of roms, with have good sound quality,or a little lower. Its a difference between dll's
Also i had Viper audio, its not bad but battery drain is just horrible. About 40% faster my phone is dead with this mod. Thats why i am asking with one ROM for live with walkman will have good sound mod's like Xperia Z walkman "pure performance"

u think wrong bro, its not rom
i would tell u choose A ROM. to ur liking 1st. bcuz this is the real deal. soundmods are a bit unversally so it dont matters.
just to list: (works on(above GB))
Viper's Audio --> CM, & STOCK up to 4.4
Sony Audio (WALKMAN) cm & stock up to 4.4
DSP manager - is only on CM (or DiY) probably this will have lowest effect on battery bcuz its very stripped down in sound ench.
acid audio is too buggy/not really for our devices
those ''beats'' audio mods are more like a joke.
i would say CM is allways best in battery even if u dont will use 4.2+ , switch to cm (even cm9) will give u huge improvement.
soundmod its up to u.

u think wrong bro, its not rom
i would tell u choose A ROM. to ur liking 1st. bcuz this is the real deal. soundmods are a bit unversally so it dont matters.
just to list: (works on(above GB))
Viper's Audio --> CM, & STOCK up to 4.4
Sony Audio (WALKMAN) cm & stock up to 4.4
DSP manager - is only on CM (or DiY) probably this will have lowest effect on battery bcuz its very stripped down in sound ench.
