Hello all,
I would like play videos using the Youtube app and to save the video (automaticity)in my phone (Galaxy s 9000),so in the next time I will play the video the file will load from temp (It's will save me bandwidth and time).
Thanks.
Search "Youtube Downloader" on Google Play.
I don't think you'll be able to play the downloaded videos through the youtube app though. Is there any specific reason why you want to view the video only within the youtube app?

Just got pushed the new Market Movie app. Took one of the $.05 offers, launched the new Google Movie player and get a Force Close error immediately. Uninstalled the player, re-installed. No joy.
Works fine on my Bionic !
Thoughts?
Thanks
Same here, bought a movie to watch on the plane but every time I try to mark it for offline viewing I get force close. Seems ok on mt gnex though

I haven't tried renting yet but when I try to play a video from my personal collection it says video cannot be played after about 3seconds of the video, I think that is an issue with the sony video player as that is what is used to launch it. Have u guys tried installing the stock Android video app, maybe that will work?
Google movies can only be played in the 'PLAY MOVIE' google app.

So when you click play it doesn't try and launch the video in the Sony Video player? It is strange that when you go to play a video from that app that is on the internal storage that it tries to launch a different app then if it has the video playing capabilities built in.
I haven't rented a Google movie yet to test that aspect myself, I was just commenting on the app not being able to launch internally stored video properly.
Correct. Google movies play within the Play Movie player only.
good to know
Good info to have. I have yet to rent a movie, but good to know ahead of time how to play it.
Its the google player that keeps force closing

Hello All,
I know you can play video files in a Pop Up Play screen while doing other tasks, but can you stream Youtube video or use the Youtube app in a Pop Up Play screen?
Thanks.
I'll let someone who actually has the device already give a more definitive answer, but I'll say that it's highly unlikely... the pop up play feature (AFAIK) is part of the native video player, which youtube does not use.

Hi there, i am a proud owner of an i9300, and im searching for a proper youtube downloader/converter to use. I've tested TubeMusic which is quite good ( it embeds into the official android youtube application, and whe u see a video, you press "share" icon and it adds the "Download" option. The only problem is that the files downloaded can only be played properly with the "Tube Music" player. They are still in .mp3 format and they are stored in the hidden fodler ".tubemusic" but the names are all messed up. I'd love if they could give us the setting to download wherever we want, and if it didnt mess with the mp3 names. Any ideas?
I've always used 'Tubemate' which isn't on Google play anymore but you can it from searching google.
You can specify what quality/resolution it downloads in or as an mp3. I would also be interested if anyone else has some other suggestions for YouTube downloaders.
Tubemate
Hm.. Im trying it right now, seems good but it doesnt embed in the official youtube application. Its an application on its own. Very good tho! Thanks!
If you use the proper youtube app, you can enable 'preload' (either on subscriptions or watch later).
I use Opera Mini to download YouTube vids. I navigate to the site, search for the video and when I click play or watch it automatically downloads the video in either mp4 or 3gp format depending on if I have his or low video setting enabled. Not sure if this is stock on the opera mini or if I downloaded something to enable it but it used to do the same on my Desire Z with the same app.

Google wants to leverage it's Youtube platform as a delivery network for commercial entities. That won't work if everyone can install an app to rip the video within seconds.
So they have to make it somewhat harder, since it's technically not possible to block such services/apps entirely.

By "embed" do you mean that this app is added as an intent from the Share option available on any YouTube video?
If so, TubeMate does this as well. Actually almost any app that is registered as a video filetype handler should be available from YouTube's Share menu.
I'm experiencing some strange but welcomed behavior of my nexus 10's YouTube app. I'm living in Germany so theoretically I shouldn't be able to watch official music videos on YouTube. at first I tried to search the videos via Google now and open the playing request via YouTube and it worked for some songs. but now I'm able to watch ANY music videos by vevo in the YouTube app. I can just search them via the app and it starts playing. now I want to flash the latest cm10 but I really want to preserve this YouTube/ music state...any advice what I could do to transfer this to the new ROM. I tried to backup the youtube app via titanium and transfer it to my galaxys and play the videos there but I'm not able to watch them on the galaxy s due to the copyrights. so the "mess up" has to be placed elsewhere. any ideas? if we can figure this out I can share these files/or whatever is needed to you guys
best regards dadebue
EDIT: no proxy app or something like that installed...the videos load as quick as my internet provider allows it

dude well i am living in germany too at the moment. And well this is kind of a gap hole from vevo haha well if you search for the vevo app directly in the play store, you will not find it. But i did this with several jelly bean roms, and it always worked for me on any device. Just go to google search and search for "vevo android app" and it will show you the app with a little button next to it saying "free". Tap on that button and it will ask you to open the play store and guide you to the app. And i also says download there and it all works fine :highfive:
I think it has more to do with restrictions people put on your videos as opposed to your tablet.
