Gameboy Advance Emulator - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Just downloaded Gameboid emulator and am loving playing Mario etc again after all this time. Saw however that the 'Gameboid' emulator i had used a lot of battery, 20% in an hour and this was confirmed by Settings>Battery Usage. Anyone know of an emulator than uses a lot less battery life?
Thanks

None that I know of; also used gameboid btw *also tried others but i found the dev of gameboid more active before*. However my suggestion is to disable vibration, reduce brightness and other settings (which i forgot since i used that long ago) so that it will consume less power/hr.

you may do not want to use other gameboy emulator because gameboid is the best emulator for android!

[Q] PSX4droid for wildfire

Hi, I'm new here, and I just wanted to ask if anyone has tried running PSX4droid on a stock or rooted wildfire.
Sorry if this was a question that was already asked before
thanks for any future response
i remember reading this thread a while back but never got round to trying it -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=963395
not sure how good it would be with on screen controls on such a small screen.
If you have luck with it let me know.
ps. you dont say whether your rooted and rom'd but it looks like for best performance you
wanna be on cm7 or similar.not sure how well stock would fair?
EDIT: NVM, Already linked above.
Thanks for the quick response
I'll check it out right now and probably post later.
I did try the Nesoid on my rooted wildfire running at 691 mhz and it works great without any problems. And I just wanted to see if it could run something much better than NES games.
I tried it yesterday and loaded Final Fantasy 5. After choosing the ROM, it just showed a black screen and kicked me back to the selection screen.
More info on this would be nice
Trying the fPSe right now.. but whenever I choose the app, It just shows a black screen, doesn't even let me choose the BIOS or anything..
might try again a while later, but no progress for now. Guess I'm stuck with NES games for a while
By the way I'm using CM7 RC2 and running at 691mhz, if that helps...

Follow below link for FPse PS1 emulator:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=963395
In FPSE, you can directly run the PS1 game (either ISO or BIN), but all games does not play. You need to try multiple games. Anyway, in the link, I have already mentioned some games which I tried.
yeah.. I guess I have to try a couple more games..I tried to play Final Fantasy 5 on it and thought "hey, If Final Fantasy 7 worked on it, I bet 5 would work"
Guess I'd better try more ROMS.. Thanks for the help guys..

How did you get it working?
installed Chainfire3D 1.9 on Uruk 1.1b3 today without any issue. Just install like any app, set some setting and played with Contract Killer. No much diff though.

You can install it on UD1.0 too
Since the Version 1.8 (of chainfire) the app works on our gen8
+1 Install works fine since 1.8.
And what's the difference with or without it?

There doesn't seem to be much difference, maybe more stability, but if you install the Tegra plugin, you can play Tegra 2 games such as Samurai 2 Vengeance, though the performance is a bit laggy. There's two other plugins as well, but I haven't researched which games they enable.
Also, I love Night Mode when I'm out late bow-fishing. I can turn the screen on to change songs without killing my night vision.

Somebody say that they have a better game experience with it
i can say: Gun Bros works better
and you can set a few options for games about graphics details and quality
from my opinion its very good
OK, it seems it's worth to install I'll try it. I'm not a hardcore gamer, all I need is Filler and HexDefence and Need for Speed sometimes but if Starcraft will be ported to Android this could help, I think.

[Q] Inotia 3 problem

I have searched the forums and can't find someone with the same problems i am experiencing i hope someone can help me with a solution.
Problem:
If i play it for too long the game starts lagging horribly, i found this to happen a lot when playing trough some of the cut scenes.
And i think this one is only on our phone so....
When i press the menu key, which should take me to the home screen, it should save the game at it's current state, but it just closes it and i have to start from my last saved game or checkpoint.
Also i played the game on Froyobread V21 and now on V22 and had to start over because for some reason my apps weren't backed up and i had to download it again.
If you have any of the problems or know solutions write below.

I tried a lot of fixes but nothing works i tried:
Full wipe
Uninstalling the app
Moving it to SD Card (no change in loading speed)
Changing ROMs (Froyobread only!)
But still no solution.
P.S. And i see that Inotia 3 is one of the most downloaded free apps in the market so can someone with Froyobread confirm that it's working without any problem on the rom.
Me too. Even i used OC, mddi, and make it to lower quality using chainfire3d. but it still very laggy for playing it long.
Maybe it is inotia3's bug, or our phone isn't strong enough.
But i still waiting the next version of this game, hope this can be better.
I used Elelinux v.3 and FroyoBread 23b.
Better phone needed for it
Just get used to the fact that X8 is far not the powerful phone. For this type of games you just need a better phone.
As long as I keep having X8 I'm using it only for working/apps purposes. I'll play games when I buy a new phone, since on X8 they load so long, that there is no pleasure from playing them ...

That is usefull information. That means it's not the device that causes the problem, it's the app itself. Thank you for the reply.
my brother sent me a addfree version and the problem was over, at least for me...
1.1.5
Yep addfree version fixes the problem.. at least on gingerdx v004
I have tested Flight mode activated, only one crash, and no lag. Don t have a adfree version...
Sent from my X8 using XDA Premium App
when i used GingerDX 5, i found no more laggy.

Well.....
Im sorry to say this but i have given up on Inotia 3 because of the bugs and lag.
Good news is i have found a replacement game with the same controls, so no multi-touch needed and the graphics are better also it doesn't have any lag at all.
The game i am talking about is Destinia it's just a great replacement for Inotia and i know that all of you who like Inotia will like it.
Helo people, I am also user who had same problem with Inotia3, lots of lags and reboots.
I am using gingerdx 018, where to find addfree version ?
For me beter replacment is zenonia 3.
I must say thats great game
stock rom - not rooted , cuz i brick it and need to do everything again..

Make a backup before trying this!
You have to dowload supercharger.sh.txt, after, rename it to superchager.sh and place it to the root of your sdcard.
disable "lock home in memory" in your cyanogenmod settings.
Now open terminal emulator in your x8 and write this:
su
sh sdcard/supercharger.sh
in please select scrolling speed, enter 0
in please enter option, enter 1
is home is locked in memory, enter no
and now, you have some settings (2 to 6) just enter a number, I use the aggressive 2 settings (option 3), but some people like the balanced settings 1.
after choosing your option reboot (option 16) and enjoy...
For me it's work great, and sorry for my bad english

[Q] Lag on a brand new S III

I bought my S III less than a week ago. As of now, I have maybe 4 games, 1 launcher and 2 apps that I've downloaded that I did not get with the phone. I've done nothing else to it other than that and running CF-Root. My problem is that while the games and ther apps run without any lag whatsoever or almost unnoticable ones, when I try running a PSX emulator or an N64 emulator, the phone nearly hangs with almost absolutely no response to touches and I'm forced to go home and shut the emulator down. Apart from that, I've begun to notice a minor lag while pressing the back soft-key as well. Nothing major, but it's still noticeable. Anything that I've done wrong or is there something that I should've done when I got the phone and haven't till now?

The emu may have a compatibility issue with your phone.

Where? In an app, on launcher, ...?
Back as going to another menu in the same app or back for quitting the app?

Oh...Is there any other emulator that has a confirmed compatibility with the phone?
In the launcher. I've tried Go Launcher, Apex and TW. Going back into the launcher from any app has a lag. And the lag persists when in the dialer as well.
I _think_ you have found the much-discussed Redraw-issue.
The launcher takes up some memory and is removed from Ram when Apps and/or Linux need/want the memory, so it has to rebuild itself when you're going to it.
Several custom launchers have the configurable ability to remain in memory so they do not succumb to this effect.
I don't know if there are any that are proven to work with S3 but they should.
Does the _exact_ same game with _exactly_ the same emulator (version) work with other phones?

I use N64oid and Psx4droid as emulators. I saw their implementation on multiple phones on youtube and took in the emulator after recommendation from multiple users on different phones. The games I chose from the site based on the highest downloads for that version of that emulator.
As for the Redraw issue, I don't think I understand. Well, I get what your saying, but isn't the 1GB RAM and a quad core processor supposed to prevent that from happening- the running out of memory? My roommate has a Galaxy Wonder and it's faster at times. {I'm sorry, but I'm a real n00b at this. I'm interested in this stuff and I do try to learn, but I'm just a beginner}

[Q] Lag In Games?

Hello XDA,
For some reason, when I play games on my Asus TF300T, I get lag. It's still playable I guess (maybe around 15-20 fps) but I feel like it shouldn't be happening. Games look kind of like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kSWQDztgR8
I feel like it has something to do with used RAM/background processes. Here are my quadrant results: http://imgur.com/uuGQ7wA
Is there anyway to fix this? It happens in games like Heroes of Order and Chaos, Real Racing 3, etc.
Thanks in advance guys.
