Ok this is driving me nuts please help, this is what I have
Sony Ericsson arc s
Sony ps3 bluetooth keyboard CECH ZKB1GB
Sony Ericsson livedock
Sony bravia tv connect phone to it via livedock and hdmi
All I wanna do it pair the keyboard up with the phone but all I keep getting is
Paired but not connected what am I doing wrong
Anyone know?
I think the reason why no one replied, is because you are in the wrong section. This is the Xperia S section, and your question is regarding the Arc S, which is a different phone.

Same bloody thing will happen even with the XPS, for some reason these phones do not connect to wireless keyboard or mouse and will get the message paired but not connected all the time. Apparently they will only work via USB/GO system docked via live dock cradle.
I asked Sony support about this and the above was their reply. When I then enquired if Sony Live Dock was compatible with the S, was informed that there was no live dock available for Xperia S, confused or what.

So this was bugging me cause i really wanted to do this. And finally found a way. The only thing is you need an HDMI kinda tv. I have a Sony Bravia. So here is how you do it.
Enable HDMI control on the TV. Turn on your PS3 and check that you can use the TV remote to control the PS3.
Then go to your tablet. Download (if you dont already have) the HD Remote app. Connect it to your TV.
THATS ALL!!
Now you can control your PS3 with your Sony Tablet S.
Enjoy
Thanks for letting us know. I plan on getting the Tablet S soon, and I have a ps3, so this would be nice to use. Excited. Just out of curiosity, how do you like your Tablet S?

What can you control on the ps3?
Thanks for the find
It should be mentioned that this is only possible with the PS3 slim. There is no "CEC HDMI Control" option in my old 60GB fat version. At least I couldnt find anything. Will be glad to be proven wrong tho.
Agreed. My old ps3 gets no love...
Also not that this only works when the PS3 is connected directly through the TV.
I have my PS3 connected to through an 4x2 HDMI matrix, and the Bravia (I have an XBR9) sync does not work. I hoped it would, as I have a Sony GoogleTV bluray box connected via a denon reciever and bravia sync works with that. Go figure.
My slim works with my sony 2.1 soundbar reciever.
Hi guys. One simple question, is there a smart dock for the xperia s. Only heard of the ones for the P and Ion.

Sorry there isn't one.
Expansys sells a Kidigi Cover-Mate cradle. Not so much a smart dock but it will let you charge phone and be able to connect HDMI cable from phone to TV etc at the same time. Have not used it myself thinking about getting it though.
i am still on the one for arc

With a smart dock can you connect a PS3 controller to it and navigate the menus?
I believe I saw it somewhere but I dont remember where !!

I remembered where I had seen it. This guy plays Driver using a PS3 controller connected to the livedock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J92oirwd9BQ&feature=g-vrec&context=G281070fRVAAAAAAAABg
I wonder why there's none for the xperia s. Is the P more of a multi media device than the S.
I don't understand the reasoning behind this at all.

there is a difference between a LIVEDOCK and a SMARTDOCK ...
LIVEDOCK:
it is an universal cradle for all sony devices with an USB- and HDMI-OUT connection ... no matter where they are to find on your handset. (XPERIA S left-side USB and right-side HDMI)
SMARTDOCK:
is an accessory for the XPERIA P ... the reason why it is only for an XPERIA P is, because a XPERIA P have the USB- and HDMI-OUT on one side (left-side)... so you can easy plug it
can I use smart dock for ion (dk 20) with xperia p? Sony just ''erased'' xperia p on his page (I can't put link, just google it)
wy ask it here??!!, this is no Xperia S forum :s
FIRSTLY SORRY IF THAT WAS ALREADY VIEW IT
But my keyboard is dead i thinking about buying a new one
so "logitech k400" will full work with Xperia s via OTG
Thanks
i read on amazon that it works with a sony tablet so it should work also with our xperia s usb otg FTW

I dont know if it should be in General but its a question too mods do move it to right forum if needed.
So here is the thing. I tried to use headset that came with my gf's Xperia X8, immediately it came a message that headset aint supported use another or go to sony mobile's website.
Tried the headset that came with my old Xperia X10.. what do you know... I got the same message... I've MW600 bluetooth headset but skype doesnt working with bluetooth so i just wanted to try with headset.
Now here is the irony part... I tried the headset that came with my Galaxy SII... it worked like a charm. I then tried with one that I bought from china some no brand headset... and it still works... so whats with sony's attitude.... is it coz it was Xperia before they named it just "Sony" ? Is it firmware bug/limitation? or is it just my tablet... the headset are fine it works with both xperias and SG 2. my tab is SGP321.

Since 2012, Sony phones uses a different headphone hack. It is similar to iPhone one, where two pins are inverted. That's the reason.
From Sony's Xperia Tablet Z Troubleshooting Knowledgebase.
"There are different standards for wired portable headsets. Your Xperia™ device supports the newer CTIA standard. Your headset may have a connector type of a different standard, for example OMTP. If your new device came with a headset, try using that. Alternatively, you can buy an adapter to be able to use your headset with your new device."
Amazon.com sells Sony's CTIA to OMTP adapter.
Does anyone know if this Vaio accessory would work with my Z2 phone/Tablet? I need to connect my tablet or phone to a Vga projector for my presentations but just can't figure out how to. Would welcome any other ideas. Thanks :good:
