(Q) Desktop Visualizer - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am currently running the stock sense 2.1 Rom rooted, but I would like to edit the icons through Desktop Visualizer. I have figured out have to accomplish this, but I have run into another problem at the end. I change the icons for "messages" and "mail" on my desktop, but when a new message or new mail comes in, the new icons do not show that there are new items (Like the stock ones do by using a superscript "1") Is there any way to make this work without installing a home launcher?

[Q] [Gingerblur] Change number of icons per row/column

Hello everyone. I just did the whole shabang tonight (Pushed SBF 1.2.6 to revert from OTA in order to root, then ran root retainer, OTA update, and installed CWM and finally Gingerblur 1.1) and I am loving it so far however I miss one thing from my old set up using Launcher Pro. I want to be able to fit the Power widget, Fancy Widget (for clock and weather) and two rows of icons on my main home screen. In order to do this, I need to change the number of icon rows to 5 from the default 4. This is very simple using Launcher Pro however I see no option to do so using Gingerblur's gingerbread launcher. Any way of doing this without installing Launcher Pro? I will if I have to however I kind of like the stock look of the Gingerbread launcher. Thanks in advance!

[Q] asking about flyer desktop icon

if use buildin sense launcher it got only 6 icons deducted clock space
Im wondering if there are any application or any method can make desktop icon smaller while using sense UI as launcher, currently i can only use other custom launcher to make it smaller, cause i want to put more app on desktop, but the problem is so many wiget are combined with sense UI, so if i use other launcher instead of genuine stock launcher those wiget will be extincted
Hi,
you can add app icons to other homescreens, or you can add a folder to youz homescreen and add apps to the folder.
Hi,
i just stumbled upon multicon, which lets you place 4 icons in the place of which now is 1 icon. Have a look at it:

Too Many Widgets, or too little RAM?

Is it possible to have too many widgets on a screen? I have no clue what I'm talking about here, but this is what is wrong. I've got my homescreen set up with Desktop Visualizer 1x1 widgets for my Semi Sense icons. There's nine of them, then my Battery Monitor Pro Widget, my aTAKEphONE widget, and then four regular icons to various programs. Every once in awhile one of my icons (not the Desktop Visualizer widget icons), namely the XDA icon, becomes a normal XDA icon, no longer one of my Semi Sense icons. I have to restart LauncherPro to get it to show the normal Semi Sense icon. Now, my aTAKEphONE widget is going blank. This is since the latest update of the program. It's there, but nonfunctional, the only way I can get it back is to go into the widget settings and back out, it shows up again. Probably two different issues, andI'm working with the aTAKEphONE developer, but I'm kinda wondering.....
If you've got this far, this is what I was thinking, that somehow I'm running out of memory on my Samsung Captivate, and things are getting bumped out of display memory - is that at all possible? I'm pretty sure these are two separate issues, the program was updated and something was changed, but the XDA icon changing is an ongoing problem. I appreciate any thoughts, I'm trying to learn here as I futz around.
Of course now that I've called the doctor it's fine but if I can get a screen shot I'll post it here.

Might want to give a diff launcher a shot as it is not unheard of for LP to have issues when one page is loaded with widgets.

[Q] Change Ring toggle icons

Hey guys~
So, I personally don't like the slide toggle in Widgetlocker, so I decided to just get a separate widget that is a button toggle (Silent Toggle) and put it on my lockscreen. Problem is, I don't like the icons >_<
Any way to change the icons? I can't seem to find where the widget was downloaded onto my A2
Also if you have any nice toggle icons, that would be great too
I'm going with a mainly black and white transparent theme and the only icons I could find right now are the ones used it this theme
Thanks^^
If you could also help me with this problem, it would be nice~
Whenever I try to make a shortcut in Launcher Pro for a specific email account that uses the stock email app, the shortcut goes on the homescreen and not the dock. Sometimes it even says that the homescreen has to force close! Any reason for this?
bumpidy bump
Any help appreciated^^

[Q] How to change menu bar shortcuts?

Hi,
I don't know if I am to stupid or it is not possible. How do I change the shortcuts in the bottom menubar (Taskmanager, Calendar, etc)?
And yes, I tried to google it and searched the forum.
you might want to look at a new launcher which replaces the UI.
ADW EX is a popular one. this lets you change much more of your menus and shotcuts etc.
im pretty sure some of the ones you are wanting to change cannot be done in the stock samsung UI but im new too so sorry if im wrong on that.
Iam already using ADW EX. But I dont mean the app-dock. Iam talking about the HC bottom bar, there is a small "arrow up" in the center which shows some apps (like taskmanager, calendar, etc)
I would love to be able to change those apps on that bar as well...is there anyone who can help?
