Sosche Car Charger - HTC EVO 3D

So this looks promising. Anyone used this for their phone? The only thing that worries me is the 2.1a output. Will the 3D throttle it down to the 1.5a (or 1.0a, I don't remember what the max is) or will I fry my phone/battery?

I'm thinking about coupling this with a car dock.

I use my HP Touchpad 2A charger to charge my Evo 3D and according to batter monitor widget my charge rate max out at 1100ma, usually in the 900s
there's also a VERY VERY similar charger by Griffin, Powerjolt Dual Micro that's been out forever, that one output 1A per port only, beware that majority of the Ebay one are counterfeit but it work just fine, Frankly i have a legit griffin (from best buy) and a fake ebay one, and I seem to think the ebay one give me a better charge!

Seems like an overpriced car phone charger.
I couldn't find it on their sites but what is the point of the app?

Sosche makes a good product and I like the LED on it. It's there but not overbearing and doesn't seem to be blinding for night driving like the yellow ring on my Sprint charger (before it burned out).

No idea on the app but I like the charger because of how discreet it is. Plus I need one with 2 ports and a 2 port one from Sprint is around 35 bucks last I checked, and they're chunky.

Anyone Found A Good Car Charger for Evo 3D?

I been having this problem since I had an EVO 4G I can't find a car charger powerful enough to Charge my EVO/EVO 3D. I've even bought the Sprint Oem which my phone died while using Gps. So any 100% confirmed powerful car charger? Not a charger where your battery only goes up 10% after 20-30 mins of doing nothing on the phone.
I bought a cheap Walmart Wireless one and it charges fine. Maybe I got lucky. You sure your 12 volt is working right?
I highly recommend the "Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate Charger" from amazon, its around $5
It has rapid charge, so it charges at the rate that a wall charger does. I own 2 and they're great!
This is the one I got: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000S5Q9CA
I've had zero problems at all with it, and have used it on up to 2 hour trips with no noticeable loss in battery. I'd say that it charged additionally, as I'm pretty sure it did, but honestly haven't looked that closely to say it without any doubt.
I too use motorola and they seem to charge everything. Even my Garmin Nuvii. Here is the one I bought.
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Ciga..._12?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1313709066&sr=1-12
I bought some cheap thing at Microcenter that can plug into a wall outlet or cigarette lighter and takes a USB cable. Works good and I can get a good jolt of juice in a 20 minutes car ride or keep the battery from draining while using GPS and playing a podcast.
For me the ATT chargers work great , I lost mine somehow so I order the HTC oem car charger I'll let you know if is good in a couple days when I get it

Palm official charger for pre or pixi. Full charge just as fast as the wall. Been great forever, you can get them online for 5 bucks.

Do not order the htc dual usb one from Amazon, it is a cheaply made copy of the htc oem one it failed after the first day and I ordered two, they both had the same serial number wtf? I ended up returning them and bought the car dock at bestbuy for $50 it also comes with the official dual usb charger that charges way fast and doesn't feel cheap.

I use the charger from the HTC Evo3D Car dock..works great.
I use a Duracell branded unit I got locally at Staples. I'm sure I overpaid ($22), but I needed it for a trip and couldn't wait. Anyway, it works fine for me.
Awesome thanks for the recommendations sound like I can find a lot of good chargers for way cheaper then the one that didn't rapid charge.

Same one I use (along with the car dock) and it charges the phone pretty quickly even while being used. I typically have music playing via bluetooth and navigation running and it still charges it to complete.

what you want to look for is the output of the charger, it's always in super small print though, usually found on the part that plugs into the wall/poweroutlet with like model number stuff on it lol...the home charger's output is 1.0Amps, i have seen a lot of car chargers that are only like .5 Amps. the motorola car charger mentioned previously is .950Amps so it is almost as powerful as the home one, hence why it charges really well. i found a rocketfish branded one at bestbuy that has a usb plug as well on the unit and it's output was 2.0Amps...it cost me like $26.
This is the one I got:
http://www.amazon.com/Retractable-C..._1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1313735695&sr=1-1
Works great. I bought it when I got my Evo 4G, and it works great on my Evo 3D
When looking at car chargers check the specs to make sure it outputs at 1 amp and not 500ma. I had a palm car charger from my pre its 1a and works great. A 500ma charger never charges if im actually using my phone in the car (nav, streaming, etc.)
Use a rocketfish i have never had a problem with it and had it for a bit over a year now works on most of the droid phones

I've been using my OG Evo charger since day one. It seems to charge it slower than what it did at the Sprint store yesterday when I took the phone in to get looked at because of the battery.
I have a Sanyo charger that charges at 800mah and the orange light comes on immediately and it does start charging but takes maybe 10-20 seconds for my phone to recognize that it is charging vs the stock charger. I have a battery widget that indicates it starts charging immediately though.
I would be curious what the car charger Sprint sells you charges at since those are generic as far as I know.
Edit - I tried unplugging and plugging the charger back in and this time all indications were immediate that it was charging so who knows...
ive used some old HTC touch diamond and TP2 a/c adapters with my OG Evo's micro usb cable, used a samsung charger, along with some kyocera charger. all have worked. car chargers ive used some cheap walmart 1 and the sprint branded 1 both worked fine.

you are going to want a 1A charger, most cheapo chargers are 500mA or less. Luckily my last 3 phones have all been HTC's (Touch Pro, OG Evo, EVO LTE), so I have 3 nice 1A chargers to use.
My car has a 500mA charger that works, it's just really slow.
I don't know if the store "Big Lots" is a national chain or just local in the chicago suburbs, but they are selling a nice duracell all in one (micro, mini and iphone adapters) that is a 1A charger for $10 if you are looking for one.
I have an old 0.8A charger from my old, old Razr that I used for my OG, 3D, and this EVO. Works fine with all of them.
when i use some chargers other then the on that came with the phone the light would light up as if it was charging but the battery symbol didn't show it was charging, if i unplug it from the phone then back in the battery symbol then would show charging

I bought a PointMobl car charger from Radio Shack when I bought my OG EVO and it's a 1A charger. Just check the specs on it before you buy.
This Motorola Rapid Car Charger (4.75-5.25V 950mA output) has been working or my EVO LTE.
It is just over $5 shipped from Amazon.

Finally found a good car charger

Couldn't find where anyone posted this, especially since search is broken right now.
I have been searching for a good car charger, and have tested several from Monoprice, which ALL eventually quit charging. Finally found this car charger that works perfectly. It is the only charger (that I have used) that can charge my phone faster than the Waze app can drain it. Excellent quality quick charger for $5. I believe it is rated at 950mA. The others were rated at 1A, but evidently that wasn't really the case.
In case the link doesn't work, it is the Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate Charger for $5.06 with free shipping at Amazon.

FYI - The charging cable is attached, so it is not a removable micro USB cable. Surely you can tell that from the picture. The clear plastic Motorola emblem glows blue when plugged in, which I thought looked cool (or, "looked chill" for you kiddos ).

That is a very widely used car charger and pretty well loved. Personally I use a http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10826&cs_id=1082603&p_id=8858&seq=1&format=2 with a USB cable. Have never had any issues with it dying or failing. It also barely sticks out of my cigarette lighter. Any all in one plug I've ever used has always had a lot of bulk.
I use the Zagg Sparq. In the car and work and such. Little pricey but it's got a lifetime warranty.

While we were on our way to key west last week also, we killed 2 count them 2 of the griffin 2 port stubby ones. They worked at first, then died. Heat probably an exascerbating issue in that case as we were in a miata with the top down and the sun on that all black interior for 8 hours. Also, had both my phone with nav and ambling books and bluetooth, and my gf's iphone 4 and her taking pics non stop haha.
Anyways I found at radio shack a stubby iGo 2 port 2.1 amp that worked without a problem the rest of the vacation doing the same heavy load in the same heat for untold hours from key west to ocala on the way back to my parents place at the end. It was more like $30 than $3 though!

It really doesn't matter which port, I don't believe the DNA uses more than an amp to charge, but you can't damage it by using the 2A port.
This is correct! The phone decides how much charge to pull preventing incorrect chargers from damaging

use the 1 amp. When using car chargers that have 1 and 2 amp choices, my phones have always charged @ 500mah on the 2 amp side but 1 amp on the 1 amp side. I think its to protect the phone. There are battery apps that will tell you how much charge the phone is getting.
http://www.amazon.com/5600mAh-Exter...d=1353451168&sr=8-2&keywords=external+battery
I use the 5600mA version (though only has a charge rate of 500mAh, but the biggest one can even charge a laptop and it goes for less than $45, the smallest one is about the size of two fingers put together and the largest one about the size of a 2nd phone (though probably a bit thicker) and has a 3Ah max charging speed
edit: i was looking at the 10000 mA version and it seems that the astro3E doesn't have the laptop charging, but i found the regular one (astro3) that does have the output for laptops, but is also selling for $60.
What about MintyBoost? I'm planning to make a few. The main feature is that it works with standard AA batteries (or AAA or whatever gives it from 1.5 to 4.5 volts or so, rechargeable or not it's not picky about source) and you can hot-swap them in the field with fresh or even cannibalized ones (you can easily "increase" the amount of power you carry with you without buying another expensive charger by just having a stash of cheap rechargeable AA).
Anyone tried? Any bad things about it?
I just got the EasyAcc 12000mAh one from Amazon for $40 and I highly recommend it. 12,000 mAh so roughly 5 full charges for the DNA. I'd post a link but I'm new.
I've got the Motorola P4000 from VZW. It's nearly perfect. The form factor is exactly what I want...very very thin. It also has a built in MicroUSB cable, which tucks nicely into the lip around the unit. Both of these are features I wanted. It also accepts a USB cable to use a separate cable if you prefer, but the integrated cable is huge to me. It's recognized as a 1A AC charger and charges fast.
There's just one fairly big problem though. If I'm in certain areas, presumably where signal is a bit iffy, it'll kill my signal when I plug it in with the integrated cable. Interestingly it seems not to do that if I use a separate cable -- even if the phone and the charger are in the exact same spot as when I used the integrated cable. So it seems like there may be some kind of interference that isn't being shielded with the built in cable. It's a big issue, but I haven't yet found another device with the form factor, integrated cable, and 1A charging. And in most places, it doesn't happen. I just have to keep an eye on it if I'm using it and expecting a call.

Charging?

Got the new K1 tab, obviously without a charger (thought mine would be good enough).
Can someone recommended a charger (wire and/or plug) that wont take 5 hours to charge my tablet.
Thanks

I had a problem with a 2.4a 5v charger making my screen unresponsive while charging so I just use the original and it works great. Charges pretty quick.

Problem is, I can't find any original chargers! I think I'm spoilt by how fast my phone charges but I'm sure 5hrs isn't a normal charge time
Basic math is if it's a 4000mah battery, at 1000mah, it should take 4hrs.

Yeah. I had one combo tell me 9hrs ?
Lol yeah.. There's an app called ampere that'll measure the actual charge rate. I don't know how accurate it is, but I did notice significant differences.. My bluetooth headset charger shoes as 150mah, and the Nvidia one shows 1900mah. My htc charger showed 1200. So there were differences even if not exact, they represent the higher rates of the advertised amps.

That's quite useful. I'll give it a go tomorrow thanks for the information
Any luck with the chargers? I have no idea which one to get.
I just picked up a Tronsmart three port quick charge charger for $10 during black Friday pricing on Amazon. Works great, charges from 20% to full in about 2 hours.

Can't wait to get mine. Couldn't pass up that $199 price. Just what I was looking for, a nice 8" tablet, perfect travel size, imho.
Bought a couple of accessories as well.
Case
http://amzn.com/B00MN98ATE (cheap, reviews seemed okay)
Screen Protector (I have one of these on my Note 5, not crazy about the haloing, but it does the job)

Charger (I already own one and have had good luck with it, and just wanted another one dedicated to the tablet)

You could pick up a quick charger from Motorola and flash the Bit-O kernel with QC support,

Hate to go off topic, but does that case have the stylus cutout? If it does, is it annoying?
Nexus 7 (2012) Charger works well. 5V, 2A.
I'm about 3h for a full charge.

I don't see anything that looks like a cutout for a stylus.
I've had my Shield K1 tablet for about a week now. Been charging with my S6 charger but wasn't charging properly, never got to 100%, it froze at 97% saying 4 minutes left to charge.. Just bought an Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 42W 3 Port wall charger and its been on charge for about 8 hours and it seems to be charging extremely slowly. I checked it a couple hours ago and it was on 60% now its only at 70%. Not good.
I am using an adaptive voltage wall charger 3-30V with my Shield 2017 USB cord. I am testing it currently, but ampere stats thus far are:
Min:1440mah
MAX:1640mah
over 20 minutes I'm working on developing a kernel but the k1 is a hell of a source considering I'm used to qualcomm. I'll keep ya posted. I'll also try quick charge 2.0 and 3.0 however Nvidia seems to restrict their temperature rather than the voltage? Any help with their stock source kernel would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
