Hii guys i recently got to know that lww got otg support
And i tried attaching usb pendrive with otg cable..it keeps saying unsupported usb device attached
I tried usb host controller..there its showing pendrive attached..but no option to open it.Does our lww support usb pendrive with otg cable????
Install custom kernel that support it or custom rom.
Stock LWW has full support for it. No custom stuff needed.
USB flash drives have to be FAT32 format. Also, do not use external hard drives which take power from USB or you might mess up the phone's hardware.

Then what is the use of saying otg support in specs?..if we need hacks to use it

Do u mean i have to format my pendrive in fat32 format from my pc..and then it will show up on my phone's file manager or usb host controller?
Dude reply???
I used OTG cable with LWW
I used custom kernal, but the unsupported USB device found message whenever i connect the pen drive,
Then i found Q5 application in XDA, but now i can't able to find now. Just google it.
Use of this app i connected any pendrive with rootexplorer.

Dude the someguyfromhell saying that pendrives work by making pendrive in fat32 format..so i am waiting for reply from him to confirm the procedure
Calm down, I am not 24/7 online on the forum.
From what I know, then Android only supports FAT32 USB sticks. Yes, you have to format it to FAT32 first on computer and then try again.
Also, you might need another file manager to explore the contents of the USB stick.
Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the app. Try searching on Google.
Dude are u talking about this app?

Just usbotg.apk will not work. Other libs and files are also needed.
Also, stock WT19 requires no modifications, except that app to explore usb sticks.

OTG does not work
I have just bought a xperia u (st25i)
I have tested different OTG cables but non of them works.
in the storage menu USB storage options are not active.
the phone is manufactured in April 2012. the OS is android 2.3.7
I do not want to loose the warranty so I have not tried to root it.
should it be necessarily be rooted? or I should just try to find the proper OTG cable?

Your cable is probably wrong. If you have another device and the same cable works there, apply for RMA.
I got cable today too, and at first I thought it didn't work. After reboot I connected 16GB MS with power consumption error, so I tried a 4GB MS and it worked. Looks like I need a new memory stick or a separate powered hub between OTG cable and ms

Hi, I want show you as connect external HDD to XPERIA mini pro (SK17i). This HDD is 500 GB, USB 2.0.

AL Mass Storage Manager - application for mounting partition: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=labs.antu.hw.storage&hl=sk
Sorry of my english...
re
Great Work!
i will try it
Does it show in the place where /sdcard/ and /system/ are shown?
nice but app will be use yo view SD/USB1/?
You can change name for mount, so for example you can see HDD/ USB flash disk in - mnt/sdcard/MEDIUM/sda1 .... but you can mounting only in mnt/sdcard folder.
Other connected media you see as sdb, sdc, ...
In application you can see - Base directory
WOW
Incredibly amazing, i wasnt thinking in purchasing the usb adapter cable, but now i think ill have my way with it
Thanks for sharing

You can use the device with the new updated version ICS 4.1.B.0.431? I already have the OTG cable identical to the video, but it only works the mouse or USB keyboard. When I connect a pen drive it does not recognize.
Nice
Where to get this adapter?. link please.. and external power source?. so 2 wires from the hard disk. one into phone for data transfer and one more for power?
I tried connecting USB memory stick, 8 GB 2.0 to my Active.
It connected and that's it. I could not access it thrue Root Browser (payed).

Did you mount partition with AL Mass Storage Manager? If yes, you try other browser manager.
Hello.... I need the OTG kernal module for the RAGE kernal.. Usb mouse and keyboard works fine but usb pendrive doesn't works... I tried few usb storage apps, but all failed.. One little hope is that when ever I plug in usb pendrive the usb storage app opens automatically but when I try to mount it, it says "Error loading kernal Module"... Please help me Friends..

You have otgg already, its just that many usb pendrives need too much power. Use a powered usb hub then. You might also need "usb helper" app from store to actually mount the drive.
Xperia mini (smultron), CM10 150, Xtended kernel + rom

Try installing Stickmount from the Play store and mounting it again, if it still fails, possibilities are that your OTG cable is faulty
(had the same problem once, turned out my cable was poor quality)
Actually it works in root explorer

The Z2 along with pretty much any Android device can mount FAT32. If you're using a USB drive you will need an OTG adaptor like the ones below.

you cant access hard drive because it uses a lot more power then a pen drive. which cant be provided by a phone. it needs an external power source.
You could try using a x4 port hub and OTG cables
Connect to mains power source
Connect handset
Connect drive
It may work but not on all devices.
