Hi all...
I was reading about the usb otg support of our devices, like mini, minipro, active & live with walkman...
I flashed my phone to stock .69 fw with X kernel (a kernel that support usb otg)
But i have an issue... When i connect my usb mouse or whatever device, it doesn't power on!
It seems there is not energy supplied by my phone...
What I am doing wrong?

According to official white paper, Xperia Mini Pro(SK17i) doesn't have USB OTG support in stock ROM.
Easier words - Your phone doesn't have OTG support. Only kernel will not help. ROM has to support it also.
And I am not aware of any custom ROMs supporting that.
isnt sk17i/mini stock kernel and rom already support usb otg.
at least thats what i saw on youtube

Go read Official White Paper, you will see that there is no USB On-The-Go listed there.

Ok, so, i have the .ko modules, kernel that support usb otg, it can work on the stock rom, according to what users say...
Anyone with working USB OTG on the stock rom?

I'm on stock 4.0.2.A.0.62 ROM/kernel and I'm using mouse or keyboard without any problems. I use Nokia USB OTG cable that cost about $5 (16,40 PLN ) with shipping.
However to use pendrives you need tool to mount your external memory into system so you can use it and ROOT is required.
EDIT:
The cable 'name' is:
Nokia CA-157
I think whole Xperia 2011 line have support for USB OTG. All you need is right FW.

So just wondering that does USB OTG work on sgs2 after update?
in GB i plug adapter and put my memory stick in and it works.
does the same apply in ICS update or is it gone?
Also wanna say that HTC is lazy for not having USB OTG functions on their devices!
screw them! that woulda fix the no SD card slot thing! if there woulda be usb otg!
Can anybody confirm
Usb otg on ics LPQ
working or not

usb flashes work but mouse and keyboard not. someone said especial barnds of mouses works but most of them not. usb flash is most important for otg
Some body knows if there some solution to this problem, because for me would be really useful connect my ps3 dualshok or one usb keyboard.

Hi.
Same here. USB flash working ok, but mices not.
On GB my Logitech G500 was working fine, now it is not even powered up (led light doesn`t light up).
When I plug in apple mouse (just google MB112LL/B) it is powered up, but I don`t see the cursor and it is not responding to clicks.
Using stock samsung firmware
Any solutions?
OTG Works Just Fine
What do you mean by fine? Does any mouse works for you on stock ICS firmware?
Keyboard doesn't work, flash works.
ICS doesn't work with my keyboard and mouse but does work with usb flash drive. I hope this gets fixed soon. The same keyboard and mouse did work on gingerbread.
USB flashdrives works but keyboard, mouse and gamepad doesn't.
I think this is a kernel problem.
When I try to run USB Host controller I get: S3C USB Host driver NOT found!

Is it possible to flash only the kernel and keep the Stock ICS Rom from Samsung (ICS 4.0.3)?
Or do I have to flash an entire new rom?
Yes, you can keep stock firmware with custom kernel.
Just flash Siyah through Odin.
Hi Mates, is it possible to get Host drivers for JB Roms.? i am using Slim Bean for my S2 and need the drivers.. so can anyone suggest me some kernel for this rom.?
Thanks in advance.
Works pretty good on the unofficial Samsung Rom

No, not working for me...... I even tried to connect pen drives to ONE X, but no go.
Not currently. USB OTG needs support ROM and kernel side. AFAIK, ICS has support built in. but I'm not sure if it needs to be enabled via kernel, or what. I really hope it comes through after we get source though.
I am using ICS 4.0.4 AOKP, i tried CM9 by FXP and nothing...
The problem is: back in GB i could use my gamepad/mouse via USB OTG Host and detect ALL the buttons (with both mouse and gamepad) now in 4.0.4 (or in some GB custom roms) i can't do it..
from what i know (not too much) its set by the kernel modules, then how can i make or get a kernel with this things already inside?
i am thinking in go back to stock GB so i could use it, im freaking out
(my device recognize the mouse/gamepad, it works but all the buttons (not DPAD/Scroll) are find as <unknown> (found out at input settings in some emulators, then it means that my device is not recognizing the stuff i plug in)
i will thanks everyone who help, thx!!!!

you already know that its down to kernel & modules, so you could do well to find a kernel which supports the UST OTG module & is compatible with the ROM you are using
you could check in the neo themes & apps section, there's USB OTG app & modules by Shardul Seth
USB OTG helper
Oh thanks i will take a look, but every kernel i try it mess with my wifi

that ROM have some serious problems with wifi modules, then they provide the kernel+wifi modules...
i tried many ICS kernels but in that ROM nothing works, now my pendrive is working in OTG but still no chace in mouse/gamepad buttons... still <unknown>
i installed some modules from the guy of the USB OTG Helper (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1588940) that made pendrive works
@Edit
some ppl said that probably my ver. of ICS have no USB HOST API and thats why it does not "detect" my joystick as it was, someone know anything about it? or any way to "install" it? :/ i am losing hope...
Hey guys,
I have a galaxy S2 with a stock ROM GB 2.3.5 that came out of the box. What i want to know is how can i get USB on the go? I have the cable for converting micro USB to USB. Do i just need to plugin the cable and USB into the phone? Does it recognize pen drives having NTFS format?
Moreover can i use my 500gb USB powered HDD with it?
I also have a 32 gb memory card. Can i store a single file greater than 4 gb? I ask this question as a single file greater than 4 gb is not possible to be stored in FAT.
Please help me.
Thank You.
Yes, SII recognizes NTFS system but not on stock kernel. Just use Siyah.
Hard disk may not work, unless you have AC - USB adaptor.
In simple language HDD only works if it supports external Power source

how to know that my phone support otg function or not MY PHONE IS SKY VEGA RACER 770
ANDROID ICS 4.04
Ask the builder of whatever kernel you use.
From my Evo LTE, yup.
not understand
plz explaon how to ask kernal?? .
detail plzzzz
no reply from xda

First of all.. if you have the otg cable, connect it and see whther the device detects it.. if you are using a custom kernal, just google with the kernal name and version and see the feature list.. if otg is not listed there, then probably wont have the functionality..
Download USB otg helper and try connecting any drive using otg cable
If detected then YES

I also have one question..i have GT -i5801 running froyo. I was reading its hardware part on xda and found that there is otg support on my chip. Thn.pls guide me how to go ahead for otg
Sent from my GT-I5800 using xda premium
I dont think you will be able to achieve the OTG functionality with Froyo.. I believe you should have ICS or above..
Nope some it is not necessary to have ics or jb
If u have appropriate hardware and kernel with otg functionality u can also get it on eclair.
As u have appropriate hardware search for a custom kernel for ur device which has otg host support.
