OK, so Im having issues with the stock version of Honeycomb. Always losing GPS lock.
I was thinking what if I got one of these

no worries. this is not another "my gps doesn't work thread". it's a question thread.
My gps finally started working with Auxura 2.1 and JL1 radio.
My question is why. what causes all the GPS problem? why when I change to another rom (Nero, for example) the GPS stops working. if it's working for me - it means that the problem is 100% software and not hardware. so what exactly causes it and why fixing it is so complicated and take so much effort and time (for example the lousy gps restore application from samsung)

I know some people have complained about GPS on honeycomb and I've been trying to find a thread on it but can't. Anyway I just noticed the other day when I happened to have my tablet on me, and wanted to use GPS, that the GPS is useless on honeycomb. I can't vouch for gingerbread as I only had gingerbread all of 15 minutes on the tab, but it would lock on to me rather quick, but then repeatedly loose signal and try to lock on again. Its pretty much unusable. Is there a fix? Would another Navigation app other than Google navigation solve it? Maps seems to work fine, its just when it actually has to navigate you somewhere where it doesn't work right.

This problem is encountered on WiFi only Flyers (BestBye) and discussed here:

The only known solution now - go back to Gingerbread, like I did.
Before I tried to use Fasterfix, then LeeDroid ROM 4.1 - all without result.

I've been using Morrisoft ROM since version 0.7 and since then, after some period using the phone the GPS simply stops to fix position and it never comes back, only with fresh install. I've tried with GMaps, it shows huge area of confidence, and with sports tracking apps like MiCoach or Endomondo I've had no success either: it keeps trying to find satellites without success. I've also tried to install the GPS fix provided by Notorious544d for Neutrino, but it didn't work also.
Does anyone have a clue of what's going on?

well,
my friend i have used tens of roms and costum roms, with this phone locking gps is almost impossible.
it's a shame because it is a beautifull phone but i got good gps with old phones like samsung i7500 and htc hd2 i can not understand why this phone has this weakness.
also tried gps fix apk and agps usa fix not results.

As in the title I've got a problem with GPS. It was working fine for long time, but just one day it started losing gps signal quite often. I'm using WAZE, and it keeps loosing signal, I checked offline navigations as well, gps fixing apps too. Yestarday I did a full wipe and installed newest version of Cyanogenmod 11 M8, but it's still the same.
Any idea what is the problem? Could be something wrong with the phone?

Hi, is anyone encountering a gps problem where it says agps needs to be updated but when i go into the app, it doesnt do anything? And the gps is taking forever to be detected. Any workaround?
