[Q] Force-kill apps via back button on Ice Cream? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

One of the feature on cyanogenmod most useful to me was the ability to kill any app via the long press of the back button..
Now I'm using a (beta) rom of Ice Cream and missing this feature so much.
Is there any app or other way to add this? obviously the phone (HTC Desire) is rooted and s-off.

I am looking for such app, too ...

use RootExplorer
and paste on /system/app
then set permissions rw-r-r
and install

Thanks for the suggestion sir but I prefer dspmanager
I can't for the life of me find anywhere which one is the later rom of the two; Ice Cream Sunday Final (update) or Ice Cream Sunday2. Also what are the differences between the two roms? Extremely grateful to someone who can clear this up for me.

The first rom of the series by Jusada was Ice Cream Sunday which was completely barebones CM7, after that he launched the Ice Cream Sunday 2 with some apps and enhancements and now the latest is the Ice Cream Sunday(final) & Speed Blur(ics final update)
Thanks for clearing this up for me Ayush. So what is the difference between Ice Cream Sunday(final) & Speed Blur(ics final update). I want my phone to have the ICS 4.0 Theme. Does Speed Blur look like the ICS or is it a Theme entirely on its own.
PS I take it these Roms will obviously lack features of ICS 4.0, rather just have the look and be faster than official Froyo and Gingerbread Rom. Other than that, I assume it will be the same as official Gingerbread?

[Q]

Hey there,
Is there a posibility to rotate the login screen. Would be nice with Car-mount.
Thanks.
You really need to be more specific if you want someone to really help you out.
First of all: by login-screen you mean the homescreen? It really depends on the manufacturer of your phone and the android version you are running. For example: HTC Sense does not support landscape mode at the moment (Sense 3.5) but it will in the next version (Sense 4.0). Use the search-function on the forum and try google to find out if it possible to have your homescreen in landscape mode.
Ah OK!
Ist the Lookscreen on my HTC Desire HD (Andriod 2.3.5, Sense 3.5, Coredruid ROM).
Seems I have to wait for Sense 4
Or if you are not very patient you can use ROM with ICS and you will find the good option to allawed the landscape mode
Problem with ics is that I have not found a good rom that allows me to use all functions. I think I will wait for sense 4.

Android mail app (switch rom)

Hi,
I was running android revolution HD on my panache since few weeks. Since yesterday I switch to Zips Creamed Glacier but somes features that I like are now missing. Is there anyway to get it back from the other rom?
1st My mail app dosen't have hours rule notification in the setting. I liked this option because I was able to turn off email notification at night with hours rules. ICS mail app doesn't have it.
2nd I like the keyboard on Revo HD because it have the four arrow to navigate in the text. ICS rom doesn't have it.
Thanks for your advice !
Its unlikely that a sense app will work outside of a sense ROM, but you can try it. Yank the apk from the older version and try installing. It will be in /system/app.
This might help you on the keyboard.

[Q] Problem with Android stock lockscreen

I have two phones: HTC Wildfire S (Stock ROM 2.3.5) and HTC Desire C (Nameless ROM 4.0.3)
Both of them have HTC Sense at the moment.
I removed HtcLockscreen.apk and now I have default Android lockscreeen.
The problem is that the lockscreen appears when I get incoming calls and it is very frustrating.
I don't have configuration menu for that lockscreen.
I don't want any installable locker applications, I want default Android lockscreen.
Any help will be well appreciated.
This is a known issue with sense roms. The dialer apk calls the lock. Only way around it is to use an AOSP based rom

Install a custom rom or use go locker which is best lockscreen app
