If your cdma I would hold out for the LTE phones . If not the 3D is a great phone. Battery life is good on custom roms.

get the nexus or the next evo, the 3d is a dying breed and will soon (if not already) be a free phone

All depends on a lot of factors. What type of phone (gsm or cdma), what rom you are on, how often you use the phone, if you use 3g or wifi, how much data syncing you use. Until you tell us that, we can't tell you how long your battery will last.

MoPho GSM question

Does the GSM radio help when roaming in the US? Was thinking of getting this phone for my wife since Sprint reception is horrible were she works. Also how is the battery life?
Was hoping for a non root answer as she will not want me to root it. She, for some reason, doesn't enjoy when things don't always work.

GSM will not help in u.s. however it has the best reception of any sprint phone I've used. Battery will last all day.

Galaxy S2 still good?

I'm thinking of upgrading my Nexus S, would the S2 be a good upgrade? I really don't care about bleeding edge stuff, I just want it to play the games I want it to and last the whole day (which shouldn't be a problem since I'm buying the extended battery) texting and such.

Yes. I can get 20+ hours on a charge, stock battery, stock rooted. I bought a galaxy nexus and couldn't play many games that I bought. Wimax will be around for a while and by the time you get bored with the s2, chances are that lte still won't be around in many areas. I'm only twenty minutes south of Boston and am not expecting sprint lte at the house...ever.

Yea it's still good. Can play all the games on the store. Can get up to 10 hrs screen time with the 2000mah battery apparently. I would consider the S3 though. At least look into it

Well, I live in Sweden (the first country that got LTE) and all the major cities and surrounding areas already have LTE coverage, but I don't care much for LTE since it drains battery like hell ATM. And our 3G is really fast compared to your 4G and probably Wimax/LTE too.

This phone (i9100) doesn't get WiMax.
EDIT: Also, this phone (which is GSM) doesn't work on Sprint. (a CDMA network)

The S3 is really expensive compared to the S2, and I feel like it's a waste of money on benchmark performance.

Yea but it's quad core. It's future proof like the s2 was when it came out.. Thats why it has similar specs to the s2

Using the app, didn't realize the op was in Sweden. Regardless, I have the s2 and will more than likely be skipping the s3 cause it's not a huge upgrade here in the states(and it knows when I'm looking at it) and waiting to see what the next nexus offers

I tend to keep phones 'til they're obsolete so future proofing shouldn't be a problem.
Also, I think that quad core just adds to benchmarks, and real world use stays pretty much the same. The difference is minimal, with the dual core just being slightly slower in some transitions and actions.

There hasn't been anything that I couldn't do on the s2 so far. To me, the only reason to consider the s3 would be the new screen
Just upgraded from Nexus one to sgs2. Loving it. Feel like a huge upgrade. Sgs3 prob nice but money talk.

Well I've never tried it so can't say. However do you have a rouge app maybe? Do you have a lot of Widgets on your home screens? Did you turn off background data, gps, etc?? All these play a major roll in battery life. Did you do a fresh install?

Fresh install. Wiped even everything three times. Only widgets are the clock and Google Music. Of course the phone lists the screen as 70% of the usage.

Some days battery kicks ass, others it drains rather quickly. I'm gonna blame it on network changes.

i would be happy with that battery life. mine is half that and ive tried just about all the roms. Just flashed the newest meanRom to see how that one is.

You're on pace for 20 hours according to this.
I broke 60 hours with my OG EVO on CM7, and consistently got 40. That said, I'm still happy with this battery life! I just need one day and I'm happy.

It's a big step for HTC and android
Apparently the scepticsicm on sealed battery backfired
The og evo ALWAYS HAD CRAP BATTEEY LIFE. UNLESS ON A EXTENDED BATTEEY.
I'm not sure what alien programmed your og evo, but I found them all to be junk for battery life and I owned least 15
I still say in my opinion the evo lte has the s3 beat in design looks battery life all of it.
It's a very good phone

My best on my OG evo was 3.5 days (battery 0) of normal (light) use.

This is with just over 3 hours of screen on time. My record is 6 hours of screen on after 16 hours, with about 15% of battery left.

I'm still running stock thhough . Any input on how to make it last longer? If I use the phone just to make calls and sms it can last me more than a day.

What I would do is adjust your brightness manually. I work 3rd shift though, so my brightness is pretty much always @ 15%. The screen is what eats up the most battery, so logically using less backlight will lower that.
When I watch movies over netflix I lose about 15-20% an hour. 5 hours of streaming video is pretty good.
Ow okay, thx ill try that. I thought is the data transfer that eats up the battery as the phone get hot when theres data transfers going.
Anyway I want to try to install the mean Rom as most people says it has a battery saver function that supposedly make the battery life a little bit longer.

I like this response, because it's true (as well as "phone" it also depends on your usage). No best ROM threads, please, or even best ROM-variation threads. Thread closed.
