Battery? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

OK what in the hell am I doing wrong? Stock non rooted prime and I'm only getting around 6 hours of battery life out of it per day, I got more out of my tf101 then this....
Wifi turning off when screen is off, its sleeping, brightness on auto no super ips.

I've been able to get about 12-15 hours of battery life with some pretty intensive gaming. you should probably get it replaced for another prime.

Crap well I can't imagine it could be anything else other then bad batt

I get the same after the last .21 update. Can you look into you batt stats? Mine shows 60+% for wifi usage.

Ya mine Is normally a little less around 44%
Even if I turn my wifi off every time I turn my screen off I get the same amount, less then 7 hours before it dies. Are you getting more even with the new update and the wifi ussage being higher?

Hi, what I have noticed is that on my Prime the battery is very good, 5-10-% drop in 8-10 hours of minimal use, but if I keep it in the dock, it sucks up battery. I found it is much better without the dock. Can anyone test the same thing? I might need to see if I can get the dock replaced and see if there is a difference.
Well after replacing my Dock my issue was fixed, so it can be a hardware issue as well. I also had some stability issues and I resorted to a Factory reset and this is also better now. So now my Prime is almost what it says on the box

Try a factory reset? It can solve all kinds of annoying bugs that might prevent a process from ending properly which may eat up battery life.

Mother fer
So I just spent the last three weeks getting my prime warrentied. They said they replaced the battery and I just did a hard reset and charged it upper all night then ran it today. Nothing special just internet stuff and I have 20% left and screen only on 4.5 hours and the wifi is at 5.3 hours. What the hell could be wrong with this Pyle?
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using XDA Premium HD app

get cpu spy from the market...and check if your prime has been able to go to deep sleep...getting wifi off with screen off does not necessarily improve battery life...rather your device should be in deep sleep mode when screen is off...
if it fails to go to deep sleep and shows continously as awake or running at 102 mhz...try removing some apps which constantly run in the background...

Yeah, I'm getting the same -- about six hours of screen-on time.
Are there really people getting 10+ hours (of *screen time*) on their Primes after the .21 update? I've read in other threads that a lot of people have seen definite drops in battery life after the update, with increased wifi usage/power suspected as being the culprit.
I've only had my Prime for a few weeks and upgraded straight away, so I have nothing to compare it to. But I'd love to hear from people getting over eight hours of usage. Then I'll definitely go with a factory reset.

Ya did that right after I got it back and its sleeping just fine. Maybe it is just that after .21 the wifi sucks the power out of this thing?
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using XDA Premium HD app

Yeah, is possible to get 10 hours+ screen time... with wifi off. Making it turn off when screen off does nothing, cause it actually uses no power while it is in idle mode.
Its when the damn thing starts transferring data when it sucks the battery up.

[Q] Poor battery life

I'm having very poor battery life compared to my samung galaxy tab 10.1 and my motorola xoom
Im getting about 5 to 6 hours of screen on time. Most of the time I browse the web and play some gamesWith the galaxy tab 10.1 I used to get around 10 hours abd wih the xoom about 9.
Is just me or are you having te same problem?
I also can't see the battery usage stats.

For battery drain, are you in balanced power mode? The display would be the next thing I would check. Make sure your do not have the brightness up too high or that new IPS+ brightness feature turned up for outdoor viewing.
im using most of th time nrmal mode and using my tablet indors with low brightness. Can i calibrate my battery or what should I do?

even with low brightness, having it in Normal mode drains the fastest. normal mode is when Prime is running at Max power. combine that with web surfing slot and that's the cause. web surfing puts a strain on battery as its constant using more n more ram n rendering pages, etc.. even so it seems you should be getting better battery life even with that configuration. do you have alot of Widgets set up to update very frequently? do u have your email set up to update frequently? do u have something else rubbing in the background that you're not aware of? all of those things will cause battery to drain faster.
if you want the best battery life and power use balanced mode instead. even in balanced mode, its far more powerful than the galaxy tab or xoom you mentioned. make sure to check for those other things mentioned also. you should get better battery life than that though even in normal mode. you could also decrease the display timeout.
since the normal battery usage setting that shows apps battery usage is bugged in HC in prime, go to the market place. download a free app called Android Assistant. its 18 tools in one. on there it has an app battery usage sections and you can check there to see what's been draining battery the most aside from display. .

plus technically its still too early for battery to be fully broken in and calibrated yet. it has to go through several full charge and discharge cycles before it gets to optimal battery performance.
I'm at around a day on normal with auto brightness. Use it mostly to browse the web and xda. Play a few games as well.
Yeah battery isnt as good as everyone makes it out to be. Since i got it on dec 23rd I have had to charge it up every night.
In the morning its at 100% (10am) then I take it with me to work, usally dont even have time to use it but sometimes i do. On a day that I dont end up using it at work at all, by the time I get home its at 93% (decent for being idle 10 hours, my hp touchpad is around 95% after my 10 hour work day and ipad 2 sits at 99-98%). then i start actually using the device, 10pm - 2am and im down to 50%. This is with very light use, checking email and usally watching a movie on the sdcard. By the time i goto bed its about 20% (3am).
So overall the battery is "OK". Gets about or close to what other tablets are getting in terms of battery life. My ipad 2 gets about 10 hours no matter what i do (gaming, browsing, videos). Asus Prime gets about 7-8 light use (email, sdcard movies, sd music) and about 6 hours heavy use (gaming and browsing).
Settings on my PRIME:
Balanced mode
10% brightness
super IPS + off
GPS off, Bluetooth off.

So then i guess every tablet can run for 12 hours or more in that case...
The prime is advertised as having 12 hours battery life when your using the device, not in idle... you are obviously trolling anyone that has something bad to say about the prime, Its shameful.
This is with heavy to light use. Wifi it always on. Screen set to auto. On normal mode. I have only charged it when the battery dies completely and don't unplug it until it is at 100% for awhile. There was 1 or 2 times where I charged before it died completely.

In all honesty, considering how much the device lags at times according to reports, I can't imagine running it in any other mode than Normal. I'd understand if the other modes would be lag-free for light activities like browsing, but they are not. At the moment, Normal is the 'best you get' in a bad situation.

I always drain my tablets once or twice a week till they shutoff and charge them up to 100% and unplug (if you leave them charging over night or drain them to 0% every night it will degrade).

this is funny as I run mines in balanced mode most of the time. its always lag free. what reports of lag you speak of? lol even when I put it in battery savings mode its smooth as hell. these so called reports along with others really have people who don't even own device misinformed. most so called reports here on general show device moves fast n smoothly. there has only been 1 video of so called lag in browser and that was trivial. as people thought video didn't really represent what was going on. other than that, there has been no proof of so called lag. especially coming from major reviews before release and after. I've basically used my tab nonstop and have a whole lot of stuff installed on mines with Widgets and live wallpapers and no lag at all what so ever. it'll be different of proof was out there bit there isn't. as far as memory goes funny how some new tabs announced with 2gb of RAM and now suddenly 1gb is not enough or its a little..lol. of course o would rather wish this had 2gb ram tl start off with but it doesn't. from what I can tell it doesn't hamper performance at all and seems to be enough.
ill just end this here. I could go on n on debunking these so called reports but not worth the time. it'll be different if it was a valid argument like GPS. which we know isn't working properly. as far as wifi, lag n everything else goes, its all trivial at best. as my device performs perfectly aside from GPS, which I've never fully tested yet. I'm a good candidate for using the tablet more than most considering use it for work also. so I'm day in and day out on this tablet. even developers who have posted reviews of prime are more than satisfied with performance. tell them the so called reports n see what they tell you in return..lmao
yup horrrible battery life #sarcasm
My battery life is about 6-7 hours so just like in TF101. And it was supposed to be so better....

Not if you are formatting battery for first few times - it is said to do like this in manual.
Ive heard of people going 32 hours with the dock, so you must be really whipping those 4 cores.

Do not believe this. It depends on how the person count it. I count ONLY the time of "Screen on". Some people makes Prime to sleep for 10 hours + work of 4 hours and they say their primes work for 14 hours
So after using the tablet if in options (battery monitor app) I see 6 hours of display on and I have 3% to go then I can tell my Prime works 6 hours on a single recharge.
That is the way it should be counted. Because you can;t work on tablet when screen is off right? (maybe if you listen to music)

And? What's wrong with this? It's normal for webbrowsing.
Well we have different ways of thinking when saying battery life.
I'm always on Normal w/ IPS @ about 20%. I've never had to use Super IPS mode even on a sunny day. IPS to 80-90% in the bright sun and is very lucid (and I live in AZ where we've been having 85 degree weather lately!)
That being said, I get so much out of the Prime and I've only drained it twice. Last night I drained it after 2 days of decent usage and no charging. I've been marathoning 'Homeland' on my laptop and using my Prime for everything else. I'd say I've had about 16 hours of entire usage over the past couple days. I did power the Prime off before sleeping to compare it's percentage loss to when it is asleep to when powered off so perhaps it's not a fair assessment, but I did use it quite heavily including streaming youtube, regular browsing, downloading apps, trying to get a lock on GPS and playing a flash game.
I think we should measure battery life only with screen on time, the problem right now is that the prime doesn't show the battery stats. Anyother way or app to have battey stats?

Battery life not as good as I thought

Hey guys i tried looking through for a bit and didnt find much on this...how is your TFP`s battery life? I`M not too happy to be honest, for instance today my battery is at 20% been on for 6 1/2 hours and havnt really done anything too intensive, mostly just web browsing and downloading apps, played a game for about 5 minutes. My touchpad seemed to get similar if not better battery life... anyone notice this too?

It really depends on your setting, or how you use it... but saying that..
it isn't as "good" as Asus advertised, nor some other media/blogs have reported from their "hurried" interviews.
ICS update probably has something to do as well... I really don't think Asus and Nvidia has fully worked out Tegra 3 with ICS yet.
I think in normal use the processor is kept at too high a frequency. I rebooted about an hour ago, and since then mine has spent well over half the time at 1200MHz. Given what I've been doing, that seems like overkill. I think ASUS is still tweaking the power profiles, which might account for the apparent variation between revisions.

I've been satisfied with battery life, not that I've timed it.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk
I've timed it several times. Its your settings. I get longer than what you posted on my 1.6Ghz vipercontrol overclock. Stock settings easily get 9 or more hours. I always have my brightness low as its bright enough. Having it at 50% or more is a waste unless you outside LR have bad vision. At night I know you can't be having brightness up like that or you'll hurt your eyes looking St that bright screen. DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS is the biggest drainer of battery. Along with web surfing, watching flash videos, or streaming movies. If you doing all that, maybe use power savings mode instead. You can still surf web n all that with no problems plus battery will last even longer.
For me, my prime easily gets Asus advertised battery life n more sometimes. If I can run a 1.6Ghz overclock n get better than what y'all posted then you need to adjust your settings.
As with all battery life situations on Android, make sure you pay attention to the following:
Screen timeout, make sure the screen does not stay on for long when you are not using the device.
Look at your applications that schedule background tasks and auto synchronizations as well as the sync settings in your Accounts & Sync. Don't sync data that does not need to be sync'ed.
Use the balanced performance mode most of the time.
Turn off features that you do not need, such as GPS or bluetooth, if you are not using them.
Under developer options turn off 'animation scale' settings. This will make moving around menus more snappy since there's no transition time and it also saves a little bit processing power if you move around in Android menus a lot.
If you do not use WiFi, keep it off or at least turn off available network notifications so it would not constantly search for them.

On ICS it should be done by GPU, so I think it will affect battery life very, very little.
My concern is more about the keyboard/dock battery life.
It seems to drain a lot faster than the tablet and it never stays long at 100% ; always fall to 99 or 98% although the tablet is not under 90% yet.
I wonder if this is because I first charged the dock alone instead of charging it with the tablet on it.
Anybody sharing these feelings with me ?
I would say the reason is that dock always charges the tablet. I've also notified that dock's battery is empty in the morning if I left tablet and dock together during a night.

Please use search, the 98%-99% thing has been discussed and asked over and over again for ages. Your battery never stays at 100%, neither the tablet or the dock.
Once battery reaches 100%, it stops being charged, otherwise it can damage the battery.
Dock battery discharges quicker because the dock battery is smaller than the tablet battery. The dock does not 'double' the battery life.
As of TF201 (differently from original TF101), dock starts charging the tablet once tablet falls near 70%. This makes sure that battery on the tablet (and dock) are used more efficiently and lasts longer (it goes through less cycles in the end). While this means that dock does not keep tablet at 100% all the time (so you can remove the tablet at 100% always), it does mean that battery life will not diminish as quick as before and you're prone to less hardware problems in battery in the long run.

The 50% brightness is most likely why you are seeing lower than expected battery life. Also, you should be in power saving mode if you are wanting to extend the battery as long as possible.
ASUS claims the Prime's battery lasts 12 hours using the following criteria: "Battery life tested under power saving mode, playing 720p video playback, Brightness:60nits, default volume with headphones."
http://usa.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_Prime_TF201/#specifications
Not sure what 60nits corresponds to on the brightness selector but I am assuming it is low.

Yeah , 60 nits is very low, especially since prime Max brightness is significantly way higher than that. Like 380 nits(unit of measurement for brightness) or more. BRIGHTEST tablet/display on the market today.
After posting last night I messed with YouTube and browsed for about an hour and only lost about 5% or so. Seems good to me.

I've noticed on both the Prime and my original Transformer that the dock battery does seem to discharge more quickly than expected when charging the Prime. It's not directly proportionate, I don't think, i.e., 22Wh is about 10% less than 25Wh, but I don't think the dock only discharges 10% faster when charging the Prime.
I think there's something about the charging process that makes it less efficient than simply powering the unit. Perhaps some power experts can chime in here and explain it... Certainly, I've noticed that charging the Prime from 70% to 100% can just about completely discharge the dock.
I've noticed the dock discharging faster if it's plugged into my usb port in my PC. I think the media mount takes more power than I thought it would.
When not connected to my PC through usb, the battery life is pretty long when doing regular web browsing and video watching.
Playing games obviously causes the battery to drain faster. Also the brightness also has a large affect on my overall battery life.
As others have said, turning off wifi when you're not using it will massively extend the battery life.

Has anyone else noticed that since we can see battery stats now with the .21 update wifi is eating most of the battery even more than the display.

Yea, battery is draining quicker compared to last Firmware. You can turn off WIFI during idle stage.. however, yea.. it's annoying.
yeah, i noticed this too. i even have wifi to shut off when sleeping and its still consuming 55% of the battery.
Maybe they boosted up the wifi signal strength a lot to compensate for the infamous poor wifi signal with battery drainage as a consequence.

Are you guys sure the stats are 100% accurate? I dont think that wifi actually sucks more juice than the display. Its the same on my Prime but its possible that the stats just arent that accurate. I have wifi set to disable when in sleep mode so i really dont think it makes sense that it takes up more than the display even in that setting.
Could be wrong though^^ My batterylife so far isnt really different than before the update - at least it doesnt feel different.
my battery life is still the same, which is great. wifi being a battery drainer is nothing new. top 2 battery drainers isbthe display(how high you have it) and wifi. I have my wifi on 24/7. never cut it off and I still get great battery life. I tried that cutting wifi off during sleep setting but I hate it. it always takes the wifi connection a little will to come back connected once display OS activated again. so I just leave it on. another thing to check also is to cut your background sync times down. you don't need email be checked and sync every 5 mins. cut sync off on anything you know you don't use much. saw goes for app notifications also. I got tired of my Facebook going off all the time, so I cut it off. it'll just update when I open the app up. or doing a manual refresh.
WiFi drain seems to be a lot higher since the update.
I got slightly over 5 hours of surfing and messing around undocked last night. WiFi used over 65% of the CPU.
Sure I was getting closer to 8 hours before.

I have noticed a huge difference. Last week my prime would only lose 2% battery over night. I updated and haven't changed any settings. Now it drops roughly 40% over night... I'm not happy to say the least. I'll try turning wifi off tonight and compare the 2 settings.
(By the way, I'm rooted and stock everything else)
Glad I am not the only one. I just got my TP a week ago and updated to .21 and sure notice that battery life has been awful. Using it for web browsing, loses 10% in about 40 minutes. And turned off seems to drain the battery as well, more than before the update.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
I do not have drain over night.
I charged it full, and after 9 hours in stand by, battery was 99%
BUT the BlueTooth draines the battery when the Prime is in use.
The settings suggest to turn it off, if you do not need it.
21WW seems fine for me about the battery usage otherwise.
Do not expect the usage they were talking about in the specs.. it's not true!

WiFi analyzer shows no difference in signal strenght, and my Prime has been RMAed at ASUS and had changed parts (WIFI/BT issue), it did not help either.
Hey everyone,
I tried searching on here but couldn't find anything similar. I thought I'd post here as its battery related.
For a start, my Prime is completely stock with the .21 firmware. Earlier today I noticed my Prime battery monitor hadn't gone lower than 93% for AGES! When I went into Settings - Battery, it said 93% Unknown. I obviously guessed it was a lot lower than that as I had used it a fair bit most of the day. I was using it about 2 hours ago and it suddenly switched off. I guessed it had run flat so I put it on charge. I've just tried to switch it on and nothing!!! It's been charging for a good 2 hours or so.
Any ideas??? I've had it less than 2 weeks!!! :-(
Thanks in advance.

cold boot. hold down the power button and the volume down button until you see the text on the screen, then choose boot without wiping your data.

Since last update I get more than 20% / hour of battery drain doing web browsing at 50% screen brightness ... it was way better from what I remember when I was on .11 and .15 ...
Tried cold booting, will see if that makes a difference ...

Well after charging all night it did switch on as normal again. But today the battery has stopped at 93% again. Going into Settings - Battery, its says 93% Unknown again. :-(

Sounds like your batterystats.bin file is corrupt. If you are rooted then navigate to /data/system/ and delete batterystats.bin
Reboot and Android will create a new version of this file and hopefully it will display stats correctly.

I am running .21 in power save mode. I have noticed the following. Using OS Monitor I found that "System" process was using 65%+ CPU resource all the time. So I turned off/stopped as many things that I could no effect..accept..un-mounting my SD card.
Once I un-mounted my SD card the "system" process time dropped to less than 10%.
Since then my battery has only dropped 7 points in 14 hours..based on my "Battery indicator" app.
So why would my SD card eat up battery life by consuming CPU time???

[Q] Question about battery life for prime

Hi
I have a question regarding the battery life on the prime.
ASUS advertise up to 12 hours on their website...
I'd expect to get at least half that with normal use..
How long does your battery life last with normal use?
Like ebook/pdf reading, some browsing, some youtubing and maybe some
light gaming?
I dont have much running on mine, i always try to kill backround processes.
I always have it on low brightness and turn the wifi off when not in use.
I usually dont make it much longer that 4 hours with light use... maybe 5 hours.
I use mine mostly for pdf/ebook reading. A little browsing/youtubing here
and there...
Is this normal or do I have a defective unit that I should replace?
Other than this I have no problems with the prime.

My wife and I get about 8 hours heavy use. Video, nook & browsing.
With similar/more usage than what you describe, I get much more than advertised...at 70% right now on performance mode at 7 hours at full brightness with wifi never sleeping. Keep in mind their 12 hours was playing video the whole time. I'm ridiculously impressed so far.

I can't tell you exactly how much I get, because I never got down to under 20%. To be honest I mostly use it with the dock, watching video and browsing outisde (+IPS) on never ran into battery issues after 2-4 hours.
So I never every until now worried about the battery, it was just there.
it really does last quite well, im used to charging my phone up every night and i cant get this thing to drain quickly, i wanted to do some full drain cycles on the battery and it actually took hours and hours to empty it.
you wont be disappointed!
Honestly, coming from an Apple employee, it kicks the iPad's ass not only at battery life, but at charging too. This thing charges in just about the same time it takes to charge an iPhone.
Wow.. 8+ hours... I dont see that happening on my unit.
I think ill try a factory reset and if that doesnt help
I think i'll have to return it for a new one.
Thanks everybody for your comments
I get about 16 to 1 day and 6 hours with the dock (That's using it very wildly, meaning not sparingly).
I surf alot, watch videos, play games, test settings.
I use IPS+ sometimes only but most of the time I have my brightness level on about 70%
Cheers!
Well, just did a factory reset, down 6% already after ~25minutes.
I think i'll see if the store will let me return it because of
unsatisfactory battery life
I get like 6 hours on screen time generally....pretty bad. Probably a lot of bugs to work out with the tegra 3 still, hopefully Asus is working on it. I do not even do anything that intensive, just web browsing, chatting, taking notes, don't even watch videos or play games too often. Battery life would probably plummet if I played games.

Wow.
With the screen on?
Could you possibly take a screenshot of the battery statistics?
I would really appreciate it so i could have something to compare to.
Or even anybody with similar results on their prime?
16,5 hours since charged, and i've got
2h40m Screentime
3h24m WIFI on
61% charged
Usage: Watching a movie, surfing, playing around with the system;-)
Fully charged at 1pm yesterday, after flashing Primulous from cwm touch, i have been benchmarking, browsing, took about 10 min of 1080p video, running wifi analyzers to configure repeater in my house, left on overnight, on balanced mode. Woke up at 5am, have been youtubing, browsing. Its 8:30 and battery just hit 20%
I AM IMPRESSED to say the least, battery life is so good due to running "minimal" when flashing Primulous, wasn't quite this good when on stock, with bloated apps
I have just about every tab on the market in the past 2 years. iPad, iPad2, Transformer w/dock, Acer, HTC Flyer, Kindle Fire, Galaxy tab 7, galaxy tab 10.1 and now the Prime w/dock. The Prime battery outlasts all of them except the gTab for me. I get about 2 days between charges prior to the dock and about 3 with the dock. Stats right now are at 70% tablet 92% dock with 10h 36m on batter and 2 hours of screen on.
With WiFi running at 10h and taking up 81%of the battery. I switched it off this morning to see if I get an improvement since I dont use it and I definitely see a HUGE improvement.
I've always had issues with leaving my WiFi on connected all the time. Lasts about 4-6 hours with WiFi on all the time. Now that I have it on JUST when the screen is on, it lasts about the good 6-9 hours. Anyone having this issue too?

With web browsing, ebook reading, and some YouTube I get 12-14 hours when my screen is set to "power saver" performance mode and with the screen at about 25% brightness. If I have the Prime plugged into the keyboard dock I get 15-18 hours depending on what I am doing.
First thing. Don't kill background tasks. Unless your Prime is seriously suffering performance issues you should ignore any background task that is running. Compulsively killing tasks will actually drain your battery faster. Do you have a lot of apps syncing? Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc? If so turn off the ones you don't use often or at least set them to update no faster than once an hour. Also, set the WiFi to turn off when the screen is off, this will improve standy battery significantly.
If you keep getting battery drain, before you return the Prime do a factory reset and see if that solves the battery drain. There could be some system process that isn't ending correctly and keeping the Prime awake. Factory resets are wonders at solving this kind of glitch.

Constant data use on the TP

Well having bad luck with my new TP. Seemed that .21 update caused battery drain on my TP. Today I only used the TP for a total of 1 hour for sending email, few web pages and battery is at 14%. This no good for travel or to use on the road. It has been on battery for 10 hours, but out of the 10, only 1 hour has actually been on.
I do notice a few things. Even though screen is off, the right side top feels warm to the touch as if when you use the tablet. Now I am thinking something is running none stop. Any good apps to check this?
Also notice that even though I am in the home screen, I see the arrows in the wireless icon showing as if data is always going up and down. So this could explain the massive battery drain. My HTC Jetstream only does this when opening web pages or sending email, which the TP will do but keeps flashing as if is always sending something. I have restored 3 times already. Now I will restore and not install anything including my account to see if it is the TP that is defective.
Anyone seeing this with your TP? I am ready to take this tablet back.

could be .21 or could be battery is just bad. What does usage look like?
I am not having that issue at all. I unplugged mine around 7:30am on the 2nd and it is now 12:05am on the 4th and I am still at 36% with performance mode on most of the time. A lot of time has been spent playing Asphalt 6 even. Plus, my normal web browsing and just messing around. I do have a dock so I know that attributes to some of my excellent battery life but not an extreme amount. It is only said to extend it by 4 hours of use.

Seems like something else is causing the battery drain. Like I mentioned, the top right side back, you can actually feel it sort of warm, compared to the left or the complete back. I know that the back feels warm after you use it for a while, but shouldn't feel warm after sitting with screen off.
Too bad only used for about an 1 hour a few minutes today and just shut off on me as I was responding.
Id use CPU spy see if that shows anything weord but defo sounds as if a app is eating all ya battery up if u find nothing try flashing firmware next one down see what happens or couldbt u try a different kernel

Mine doesn't get warm and I still get about 6-8 hours as opposed to the 10-12 I got before.
I've been noticing that Maps/GPS always seems to be running even when I have GPS disabled.
