Wow what an amazing app. You must have root. Use gestures for everything. There is a free one but it is limited. The paid app is $5 US. But totally worth. THIS TOTALLY competes the tablet experience. ITS ALSO MADE BY ONE OF THE GUYS FROM XDA!!!
It won't let me post a link because I am new BUT I BEG YOU TO GO CHECK IT OUT.
PS. I found this in a earlier in a thread as a solution reply to a guy who wanted to get rid of the status bar but I just wanted to express my excitement
Care you link to that other thread.
I assume this is what you're looking for: Gesture Control thread.
It still has major bugs THST need to be worked out with ICS compatibility. Looks good though. Will try out once its more polished.

Gestures for back, gestures for the launchpad, and custom gestures with borders don't work at all. The only thing that works are non border gestures and hiding the nav bar.
I built a gesture to launch cornerstone, but it didn't work when I tried adding a border only setting to it. I would keep getting an error, so for now, I'm settling for multi-finger non-border gestures.

Yeah we really need a new method of rooting the TP. I feel for you man. This is like the first app apart from adblock and titanium backup that are totally awesome.
There's always the option to unlock though.
Btw just bought the full version of the app and its worth it. So much simpler than using buttons. Google should think about implementing something like that into jelly bean.
I've been using this app for about a week now and it is slick. Highly recommended. I only use the status bar and back gestures and reporting no issues.

You have to install SuperSU instead of Superuser if Back is not working. Superuser has bugs on ICS.
1) Install SuperSU from market
2) Start SuperSU, update binary when asked.
After that you can uninstall Superuser.
I want to root but not just yet. I'm definitely going to wait a while to unlock.
I'll have to remember this app when I do.
Just grabbed the Lite version but can't hide the Status Bar on any screen or any app.... Not sure if I'm missing something obvious or it just isn't working for me.

Interesting find... I would not think it would be in the app drawer, but more likely in Settings > Security > Screen Security but I suspect you checked that if you were savvy enough to find the apk. So, there most be some sort of interdependency with that app and the system that is further blocked.
Simple as it sounds, did you restart?
I replaced our apk with one from the galaxy nexus and with the requisite other files I'm system/lib etc.., but no dice

THIS INCLUDES MODIFYING BUILD.PROP AND SYNAPTICS-RMI-TOUCHSCREEN.KL SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BACKUPS!!
I thought i might share this to everyone since i tested it and it works nicely for me so far
1) Go to your build.prop using root explorer or any app that allows access to system files
2) Go to the bottom of the file, and enter the following without the quotes "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP IN CASE SOMETHING DOESNT WORK OUT)
3) Find "Synaptics-rmi-touchscreen.kl" located at (system>usr>keylayout) that controls the capacitive keys. Delete everything by editing it with a text editor
4) Reboot and you should have softkeys with the capacitive ones disabled
*I used this app http://goo.gl/JUWqs to disable the capacitive lights*
**If you wish to kepp the capacitive keys enabled skip step 3**
**to Reverse this just replace the build.prop with your backup and replace your Synaptics-rmi-touchscreen.kl with your backup**
Enjoy
This would be great in conjunction with enabling some gestures in the capacitive area a la WebOS

Okay, so on any jelly bean device with soft keys, pushing up from the home soft key brings up a little ring with google now on it. Is there any way to enable this functionality with the hardware keys? It's kind of weird having both hardware and soft keys but I really like this functionality.
Any way to shrink the height of the nav bar? It's a bit too tall for my liking.

I started using an app called flashlight LED genius and there is an option that allows you to shake the phone while at the lock screen to enable the flashlight. Then to turn off you simply shake again, you can set sensitivity settings and duration in case it gets turned on accidentally. I have had no issues with it accidentally turning on as of yet. Works surprisingly well.

Shake on lockscreen option works fine for a while, then stops. Problem is noted in the app description in the Play Store but no ETA on a fix is mentioned. Too bad, when it works it's nice.
Anyone know of another flashlight app that can be reliably activated from the lock screen?

Using an app called Torchie, just press both 'volume buttons' together to turn on/off torch anytime. Hey guys, so I got my S4 around July 4th and realized the same day I didn't like touchwiz. Got home, rooted and threw Dubbsy's rom on it.. I have been in love with the rom since I got it, never had an issue with gibberish provider name (except once) the lack of LTE bars didnt bother me because it still worked. The only major issue I ever had with it was my recent apps option stopped working. Well I just got the chance to update it to the newest build of the deoxed version and it has fixed the LTE bars and recent apps works again. It is fantastic and I really appreciate all the work you do! The ONLY issue I have is I only have 3 home screen pages. Is this a limitation of the rom, am i missing something simple??? I could use some help here and if it is a limitation of the rom, no big deal I can live with it until a newer version comes out

Dubbsy's ROM is nice and stock, with very few modifications.
If you want more home screens, I highly recommend simply throwing Nova Launcher on there. Grab it in the Market. It looks and performs 99% identically to the stock Nexus home screen, but adds a bit of customization. It's what I'm running on Dubbsy's and I've got no issues whatsoever.
If you still have a copy of one of the older versions of the ROM, pull launcher2.apk out of it's /system/app/ folder. I noticed the same thing and use 5 screens myself.
Once you pull the .apk replace the launcher2.apk in your current /system/app/ with it using a root enabled file manager under rw mode. Like the CM installed on the 4.9 edition or Root Explorer.
Once you've done that go ahead and reboot and you should be good.
At least, that's what I did.

Yea, it only changes the launcher. That's the only apk you would be replacing, and you wouldn't be using a third party substitute, it would be the genuine launcher since you would've pulled it from one of Dubbsy's older builds. I personally pulled it from 4.7.5 test since that's what I had on my sdcard at the time. Works fine.

I just tried it, extremely buggy. Still not pleased that this phone most likely has a compatible sensor, since it was made by Huawei, and Google claims it doesn't have compatible hardware. I would say they are just trying to keep it "pixel exclusive" as long as possible.

I just tried it as well. Doesn't seem buggy at all tried all the different options and all worked great. However, the major caveat seems to be that you simply hold your finger on the sensor (just like you do when unlocking the phone), rather than using a gesture - which is what people were wanting to get.
Yeah, it's not perfect but a decent start. True swipe gestures would be cool, I bet somebody gets something better working.

Yea I tried every setting in the app, it was slightly more consistent, but I was still having issues. I will wait to see if a new version comes out or some other solution to these gestures surfaces. I am on the 7.1.1 beta, that could be an issue also.

There's a fingerprint gesture app in the Android app section of the forum. Just does notifications but seems to work well enough.
