[Q] Looking for a specific internet radio/icecast app - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm looking for an internet radio/icecast app which will have all of the following features:
- be able to play this stream http://tx.sharp-stream.com/icecast.php?i=planetrock.aac
- be able to play that stream as soon as the app is launched
- handle connectivity problems correctly, i.e. keep trying to reconnect without the need of doing anything manually
- stops playing when bluetooth disconnects
The whole point of that is I want to be able to play that radio station using voice control over bluetooth without touching the phone. Planet Rock actually have a dedicated app which is decent, unfortunately it does not stop playing when bluetooth disconnects, instead the music starts blaring through the loudspeaker which isn't ideal.
Thanks!

I don't know for sure if this will do everything you ask but have you tried Winamp?

I have, yes. It won't even play that station.

Play Music All Access Bluetooth Jumping Tracks

I've recently signed up to the All Access trial so have had to switch from using PowerAmp in the car to Google's app. It works fine on headphones, however when I connect it to the car bluetooth it'll play a track fine, start to play the next one and then skip it a few seconds in. If I skip back the track plays OK and it doesn't make a difference if I cache the tracks offline. Any ideas would be great as all access is looking like something I'll have to give a miss unfortunately. I'm on stock rooted, cheers

Play Songs Via Bluetooth (Phone!)

Hello guys,
i hope im posting this in the right section.. so here is what im looking for:
my car's radio supports only bluetooth phone function so i cant play music via bluetooth.. but i got this idea last time when even the phone function of whatsapp worked with the bluetooth of my car:
is there an app to play music via the bluetooth-phone instead of bluetooth-headset function? and if not can somebody give me a hint or usefull tutorials (playing music app, using bluetooth and so on) on how to develop such an app?
would be really great if u guys can help me with this it really pisses me off that i cant use bluetooth to play my music! and im sure this would help many others too!
thanks!
First thing this is the wrong section.......
Second.....you don't need an app to do it man.....just connect to your car stereo....then go to Bluetooth settings.....click on the name of your stereo device....open device settings.....there will be an option for use as speaker or something like that....I don't remember the exact words....but I've done it before.....
Third.....always search for tutorials before posting direct questions......
Fouth press thanks buttons if i helped.....
sorry for my late answer..
this didnt help at all.. i dont know if u ever had a radio which is able to only use bluetooth for phone calls. if it would be possible i would have found it in the radio settings for sure but this is the 2nd radio i had to deal with which isnt possible to play music via bluetooth even though it has bluetooth! i would be able to find bluetooth option under sourcers of music playing devices right next to the usb and CD option but there is no bluetooth option.. im not that dumb bro

I guess you got him wrong. You have to look at the Bluetooth settings on your phone and search for your car's radio as output source. If you have paired your device with your radio, you should be able to stream your music to your radio via Bluetooth if supported.
In case your car isn't able to support music playback, then there is no possibility for you to listen to your music besides buying a radio which is able to do so.

at least you understood me right
but is there really no way using phone function to play music? i mean whatsapp is just an app it should be possible developing an selfmade app to create phone bluetooth connection and then play your own music through it. or isnt the bluetooth-phone "tunnel" able to use for other things except calls?
Your issue is that your car radio desert support A2DP protocol. This is what is used to send and receive music to devices.
What you won't to do will not work unless you build an app that sends it's audio through the protocols for the phone. Here you will run into call issues.

[Q] Bluetooth Audio-Play on Connect

Whats up everyone... I've had this phone for a few months now and can say it's easily the best I've ever had.
The only "issue" to speak of that I've found is when my phone connects to my car bluetooth, it doesn't always automatically play. I've tried clearing/resetting pairing, all sorts of different music players (power amp, google play, android basic, etc), even tried to utilize the Smart Connect native app in the phone to start the music player app when connected. I have all available options checked related to automatically playing music on bluetooth connect.
Bottom line, the problem is intermittent, frustrating, and I can't seem to figure it out. Is anyone else out there have a similar issue or have any tips related to this?

What stereo system do you have in your car? I have the Pioneer AVH-X4500BT in my car and each time I start my car up, it searches to auto connect to my phone. Once it does and I have it on Bluetooth Audio mode, it plays whatever song I just had played on my phone.

Also have a Pioneer head unit BT6400 I believe. Have used it with my past 3 phones... motorola and HTC without issue. The behavior you've described is the way all have worked in the past. Now, for whatever reason, sometimes it does not auto play.

Were there any changes you've applied to your phone? Safe bet is to clear out the BT connection in memory and connect as if new. Also try to limit to just one music player on the phone. Because I think it would automatically run off of Walkman, but other players can interfere.

Wifi dropping/re-connecting on Nougat

The wifi connection on my H850 drops and reconnects every few minutes. This makes it impossible to listen to any streaming music service. I don't have power saving enabled, and have excluded all of the relevant music apps from battery optimisation. I've also specified "keep wifi on when screen is off". I'm running stock Android 7.0 (V20d-234-30). Any ideas for how I can keep the wifi connection up and running?
@itm
No drop-outs here. On v20f-234-30.

Are you able to listen to a streaming music service for 10 minutes or more without any buffering or other interruptions?
Yes, but i use streaming from Amazon of music i have bought from them via Prime. But i also use streaming from Netflix for movies and no drop-outs or buffering using it.

So it seems that it may be a bluetooth-related problem...I just managed to play about 20 minutes of uninterrupted streamed songs using a wired pair of phones. I then connected a bluetooth headset at it aborted the first track (skipping to the next one). Could a bluetooth glitch cause the streaming app (Squeezeplayer) to abort a track and skip to the next one?

It's possible yes.
G5 has a highly combined chip of BCM43455 where wifi/BT/RF functions on the same chip.

BT auto plays music

Music app automatically plays once I get into the car and BT is connected. Also BT keeps asking me every time I get into the car if I want to share the contacts although I have disabled contact sharing with the car when I have done the pairing. Two very silly and annoying issues. Is there any fix?
Does that to me too, I am gonna try disabling Google music, or make Spotify preset music app. Then report back

Contact sharing is a constant request across multiple phones and multiple Bluetooth devices I have had before. This problem is at least a few years old to me so I suspect it is an Android issue. Seems to be dependent on what Bluetooth device you connect it to.
Music automatically playing I suspect is the same - Bluetooth device dependent. I vaguely remember this happening before but it's certainly not as common to me as the contact sharing problem.

I disabled Google music so now it's not autoplaying but we will see if 8 just got lucky if it plays back I will report back here
I'm fed up of both and can't find a solution. I have already had my car set to not import contacts however every single time BT connects, phone asks to share contacts and I have to press no. Also it picks up ab audio file from the phone and plays it. Annoying and ridiculous.

Go into Google Play Music > settings. Deselect the Allow external devices to start playback
