Hi all
I want to know how tk connect ad-hoc wireleas its really needed??
Thanks.

It really depends on what you want to connect to with the AD-HOC wireless connection the HD2 uses as some electronic devices do not support AD-HOC like most Sony products for example. But there is a work around. So please post back here with what you are trying to connect to.
I have internet sharing to other so i want to connect the shared internet but the shared wireless does not shown in wireless.

Sorry for the late reply but I think you are looking for WiFi Router for Windows Mobile. There is also a paid WiFi Router app in the Market call WMRouter if I remember correctly. But I use to use the free one all the time and loved it.
I dont think u get my question.
I want to connect the ad-hoc wireless ,when u share internet from ur pc the type of connection is ad-hoc some device cant read this wireless or find it,so the point is by which way i can connect from my hd2 to those type of wireless?
Thank u very much.

Ok I think I might understand you question now, and yes I know what AD-HOC is. To put it simply it is a computer to computer connection. Anyway if you are talking about using the AD-HOC connection to put your HD2 online via your computers internet connection then you will have to use a WiFi router and access your home internet connection via Wifi. I don't think you can connect your HD2 any other way to non cellular network, at least that I know of.
Ok
so its microsoft .
thank u very much .
Hi there,
I have encountered some strange problem with my HD2.
I cannot make ad-hoc connections with most laptops, except for maybe one.
This means, I cannot connect to an ad-hoc connection set up on a laptop, nor can I turn my HD2 into a wi-fi router with most computers.
The connection is detected but after trying to connect, it just cycles and eventually windows (tried xp, vista and 7) notices that it cannot connect.
I have read that it may be the case of:
1. IP mapping (but why should this happen if all these laptops did connect with my previous i8000?)
2. WLAN Channels (Whereas I found no way to access/change them on wm6.5)
It's a new HD2 so it's got the pre-installed sharing feature. I also used the wmwifi router trial and downoladed the htc installable router app (tom codon's).
I've searched the forums for 3h allready and found no conclusion - will be really greatful for some hints.
Thanks.

I don't think it's possible via usb... The best thing you can do is buy a wifi router..

there is a option on HTC that when you connect your phone to PC, it asks you one more point "connect to PC's internet". but i's interesting, if is that possible on ACE.
Sorry for my bad English (((
Check USB tether on market ;-)

Some networks don't let you use your laptop etc..to connect to the internet via your phone unless you pay extra.
My ace is locked to three there is a option in setting to Tether via usb or wifi but no mater winch setting i use it will not work.
However on my old HTC HD touch generic i can connect my usb cable to my laptop and go on-line with the same sim. Iam going to try and branded my ace once i know how.

Not share you Phone internet, but PC internet to Phone.
CHEERS!
What about sharing the connection by WiFi? Through Ad-Hoc?
I know that there's an option in Linux, but I'm not so sure for Windows.
Rufus87
Try to download Connectify and turn your laptop into access point (if your wifi card supports it). Anyway, buying wifi access point is the best solution.
adeklipse
In Windows he can set up ad hoc network, but Ace doesn't support it. I tried to look for working edited wpa_supplicant file, but i didn't find it.
Devs any hope for this yet?

Virtual WiFi adapter for Windows 7
You could also change your WiFi adapter into a virtual WiFi Miniport and share the internet connection if you have windows 7.. It acts as a Wireless access point and also please note that your hardware should support in order to create a virtual WiFi.. Just follow these instructions..
http://mintywhite.com/windows-7/set-windows-7-wifi-hotspot-quick-tip/
+1 mr., been +1ing twice tonight.. I also had this issue, decided to stop my ace's data plan and my brother had a decent connection on the desktop. Sadly it was our all time fav Win XP and we're too lazy to add a WIFI/WLAN card to it.
Maybe having a Terminal Emulator (since we can't do any adb commands when tethering) to establish an interface/eth0, activating the USB tether (not the wireless) and configuring a connection on the Windows would help? I've tried that, but met no luck on Windows part.
I used reverse usb tethering on galaxy mini before purchase ace. Its simple script to give usb0 ip address and some setting on gateway, dns.
I am having broadband connection at home, but no wifi router. So I am unable to use broadband with my phone.
How can I connect my phone to my pc and share the internet from my computer.
Note that I don't want to use my ace as a modem.

this can be done in two ways!!
Either you get yourself ADSL modem +WIFI router and then use broadband on SGA or second method would be by
"Reverse USB tethering" you will need a Linux machine for that, because you cannot do it on Windows machine,(i don't say it is imposible but its not working right now)
check this blog for Reverse USB tethering

or follow this thread

it might just do the trick

Try kies Wi-Fi.

you can start up a hotspot on the phone and use SWIFTP to host an ftp server off the phone
Use the phone's Wifi Tethering option or the freeware "Connecitfy" on the computer to create a Wifi network and then use an app like SAMBA Fileshare to transfer the files.
Afaik Wifi Direct is a software-only protocol which uses sort of apoint-to-point Adhoc network so there is no reason why computers should not be able to use it, at least no technical. You'd need the corresponding tools / drivers though and to my knowledge none such exist.
I have always found es file explorer to work extremely well. You do need to spend a little time to become familiar with interface but really is great for moving files etc. I use it to over files on/from/to my htpc if the wife is watching her junk. Just make sure you have a static ip on your pc to allow for auto login when you open app rather than scanning and login in every time
ist about that you are awesome because tou are imaginary or exist in another world
Hi
Both Intel (My WiFi Dashboard) and Qualcomm-Atheros (Direct Connection) have a client that is supposed to be "WiFi direct" certified and should allow for Direct Peer-Peer connection between the Phone and PC without the need for an access point or other routing device.
I have been unable to get either to work with my SGH-i927 Captivate Glide !
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/wireless-products/my-wifi-technology.html
The only place I could find the Atheros client was on OEM sites like this for Dell(Sony and HP also have it)

Hi,
I have connected laptop to internet using dongle. Now, I want to share the laptop internet with my Android and Windows mobile by making my laptop as hotspot. To do this, I followed online tutorial for this.
http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-set-up-a-wireless-hotspot-From-WiFi-Windows/
It is nothing but executing following commands from cmd (Run as Admin):
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=myhotspot key=password
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
Then new network Adaptor by name "myhotspot" is created. Now, I right click on my dongle adaptor and select Properties. In the Sharing Tab, I checked the checkboxes and select "myhotspot" in the dropdown.
Now, when I connect to "myhotspot" on my Redmi Note3, it is connected but internet is not working on the mobile.
Can someone please guide me in troubleshooting the issue?
Or let me know the alternate way of doing it.
Also, please let me know if any other information or clarification is required from my side.
usually you will need two wireless dongles, one for the laptop internet (or connect it with wired lan connection) and one for the Access Point.
if you have two wifi adapters then perhaps your issue is somewhere with DNS getting assigned the wrong ip, I suggest you buy/use a router for hotspots, since using a normal wifi adapter will be slow and have limited range.
Thanks oxyg for the reply. I guess the issue is not clear. I have connected the following Vodafone dongle to laptop to connect to Internet.

Download connectify And setup the hotspot!
P.S-its a paid app!
Thanks NVDX11 for the reply. I know about connectify, however, it is paid app (as you also mentioned). Please help me with the free method to share dongle internet.
If you can live with using it over USB, you can get the Mi PC suite, that can get the RN3 to get it's internet from the pc it's connected to.
Hmm......that can be the solution but needs phone to be connected to laptop always......can the laptop internet be shared wirelessly to redmi note3?
is it not possible?

Hey, you can use mHotSpot to share the internet from your USB dongle to Wireless,
Ive been using that for quite sometime now, but one disadvantage is that the range that you will get from a Laptop Wifi card would be very less and would work only in a short range.
