OK, Here's what to do.
Open ROM Manager and press [MENU], then select "Manual Flash Override".
Tap "S5830" and then "ClockworkMod 3.X.X+".
Done! Problem solved!
Also you can press and hold "Install ROM from SD Card" to use 'Burrito Mode'!

Correction
Recovery doesnt depend on BASEBAND...
ROMS depend on it.
I have tried using the official gingerbread here in the us, and i couldn't get the 3g data working..
On another note, you can use the clock work mod for the new base band, on the old base band... It works great, and is the most recent.
That's what I use

I am curious what exactly happened here... did you install the ICS leaked odin one click .exe or just a ROM from the dev section?
What did you do to brick it? What stock kernel did you try to flash exactly?
Thanks!
I think he was trying to flash the GB kernel on the ICS build.
Why do people use the term brick so loosely? Just reflash back using the Odin one click or flash another rom using cwm.

"The previously leak was version UCLC5. The following build is UCLD3. This is a major bug fix build, so there are no new features. Those who are testing this build out say it’s smoother than ever, although Instagram still doesn’t work. Without further ado, use the guide below to flash the new leak onto your SGH-I717."
Cool.. new leak :-D getting closer to official... then kernel sources and we even have init.d injection from another member... things are getting juicy personally waiting on a CWM version/ROM by a known dev using this base before I test drive it. Neat none the less and glad cwm/root are attainable without modification after Odin.

By the look of that screenshot you have absolutely no idea what you are doing and I would suggest selling your S3 for an iPhone dude.
You are now trying to flash i9000 firmware onto your S3!!
Seriously mate, you are really going to brick your device hard if you don't double check what you are flashing.
You need firmware intended for GT-i9300 (That is if you are usng the international version of the S3)
Get yourself the appropriate .pit file and firmware intended for your phone and flash through Odin.
Good luck and TAKE YOR TIME

Yes you can (the first one, the second is for 4.3 ONLY)
BTW- why not flashing a 4.3 rom? the newer releases are much better than 4.1.2 vers (to my opinion). Personally, I recommend the one in my signature

Lol amirtor is right. U are alr using efs v2 cos of ur modem version MG4. Just do a nandroid back up before u flash anything on a sd card or internal memory and transfer it to a computer since nandroid back ups file size is alot. Then flash anything u wan.

Efs v1 is Modem before MG4.
Efs v2 is Modem MG4 and following.
Efs v1 can only read v1.
Efs v2 can read both v1 and v2.

Samsung changed S3s partition version from EMG4 builds, which caused a real headache to users who wanted to downgrade to earlier builds, resulting IMEI & network issues (still a major subject in Q&A threads). You can look for more info on the FAQ thread.
Anyway, you've already done the leap of faith towards EFSv2, so you can only climb up
Ps- sorry JellyYogurt, multithreading issue...
