I9100G Android 4.0.3 Rollout - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, i want to know when the Rollout of the Android 4.0.3 for the I9100G started in Germany.
I flashed a Costum Rom on my I9100G because the Stock Rom was sticky.
Now i cant use Kies Software to check if the new ICS is availible.
Maybe some people can post wich device they have and when the ICS is availible.
Whats the easiest way to flash a rom that can connect to keys and is update-able via Kies? Do i have to do the complete steps like in the "Warranty Restore" threads?

Hey Folks,
i just updatet from xxla1 to xxlb1 with kies. So the statement from Supporthotline was that its the preperation for the upcoming ICS Update which can come today/next week. He couldn't say safe date but it will come in next weeks... So no June Let's hope it will come up soon. (Germany Unbrandend I9100G)

We have been informed earlier that there will be an update but we dont have the exact dates

Rooted phone doesnt need kies...

I wonder how efficient will be other manufacturer to roll out ICS to their promised devices... Samsung so far it seem lame...

ICS will come very soon saw a leaked image of a chinese rom!!

2 days later, still no ICS

what's your provider? i'm on kpn/hi (netherlands)
in case you know, will it depend on the provider? could that be why i'm seeing no ics update?
thanx

maybe after new galaxy lunch.. ics for i9100g will emerge.. as it come from galaxy far far away..

It`s out: http://www.gsmarena.com/the_ics_update_for_i9100g_galaxy_s_ii_is_now_available-news-4178.php

Not in Germany, apparently. At least Kies is saying, that I have the most recent firmware installed (LB1).

While this is true, your typical I9100 ROM will probably NOT have NFC support built in. So if you flash it to your I9100P, chances are good you will not have NFC anymore. May or may not make a difference to you.

.... Probably? Only Samsung can officially answer that question.
EDIT: So if Samsung DOES officially release ICS through Kies (which by all indications, chances are quite good), you're still probably going to have to wait until they decide that your region is going to get it. This is one of the many reasons I've spurned using Kies. Kies is also somewhat unreliable for me. It only decided that my phone was connected to the computer about 1 out of 4 times. I much prefer using Odin and flashing the firmware myself.
Flashing an ICS Rom is the best thing that you can do to your phone. I know NFC probably is not going to work at first, but do you realy use it?

Wireless payments, sharing etc etc will be big soon.
Rolling out in the UK this year so for example you can pay for small money purchases in shops by flashing your phone to a receiver. Bit like the oyster card on the London underground.

02 uk ics? when ?

before any of you start saying use the search function or other whitty comments, i have searched around and have found nothing
so, is there a date for when ics will come to my sgs2 on o2 uk network ?
Since O2 will add some of their own apps it really depends on how long it takes them. You can flash a official build via odin then flash your regions CSC so you can still use Kies.
thank you for your reply

im kinda a noob to android i had a htc hd2 before, so android is different so the new ics to come is not worth the update ? im on 2.3.5 it works just fine ive had my s2 for 2 weeks now with no crashes or any problems

Where are you located?
Is your tab wifi only?
If there's an update available for your model but you can't get it yet via OTA, you should
be able to get it using Kies (you'll have to do a reset on the tab first).
You can also flash it using Odin (again, IF there's an update available for your model. If there is,
you should be able to get the file from the sammobile site).

Like the previous post said, just install a custom ICS rom. They will run better than Samsung's stock ICS anyway. Most of them should be stable. There are also a couple of Jellybean roms available and running just as good as ICS.

I've been having just this discussion with Samsung, and following a long phone call to Mobile Support they have said that they have no plans for the ICS upgrade for Baseband Version P7500XXKL3. Or put another way, despite spending full price of £659 for the 64gig 3G vesion last year, we can get stuffed zs they have our money.
I find that attitude galling as my sons P7510 was updated ages ago......
Contact Mobile Support and make a lot of noise, and then maybe they will sort out whatever problem they have with the modem firmware and we'll get an update.
I would do a custom ROM but I'm worried I'll screw the Tab up and brick it
Well, I think flashing some of the custom rom is the easiest solution for Your question. If You follow the guidelines how to do it, I
think there's no real threat of damaging Your tab. But of course the choice is Your's...

There are Samsung Stock P7500 ICS ROMS for Italy, Baltics, Turkey and India over at samsung-updates.com. I doubt that they would stop there and never carry on for the rest of the countries. These were released in July and August.

Just make sure you flash a ROM for the correct version of tablet and you should be fine. So far as I can tell, basically all of the ROMs are for 75xx tablets so you should be fine.

If it is a UK board, you "should" be able to upgrade. Depends on such a large number of things, mentioned in quite a few threads in this forum. But if it is "standard" UK P7500, then it could be rooting, non-official ROM, and so on...
The sammobile/samfirmware site mostly has the latest and greatest. If you do not see it there, it just is not available yet (mostly, Canada is excluded there, BTW).

p7500XXKL3 GALAXY
HI guys, i too have the following model- P7500XXKL3 and am desperate to upgrade my tab to ICS.
Can anyone tell me where to download the upgrade?

Still no jelly bean for me? :(

I have unbranded galaxy s3 i9300...
Still running android 4.0.4
baseband version: I9300XXLF
Any idea why there is no OTA jelly bean for me yet?
Also, any idea if it should be even available for me ?
Updates are dependent on many factors, including where you live.
Ask Samsung directly
Or root and take control.
Good luck
When it comes to rooting - I'm a total rookie..
Where I can ask samsung about it ?
It's not difficult to root s3
Take an hour, a pc
Search s3 thread for root kit, it's all explained and semi automatic there
Odin is included in above and will be used to root in seconds.
Make sure you understand what you will be doing, follow steps properly. An hour should be enough to read and do rooting
If you need to ask Samsung, go to their website, check contact us section for your country.

press thanks if I helped you
relatively, you can go to sammobile.com and download the latest official jb firmware..
but take not that the updates also depend on the region are currently in.. so if let's say you download the Polish JB firmware, and you are not from Poland... then you won't have to get OTA updates.. you have to update your phone manually
Cheers!
You don't have to root to flash the latest software version...

AFAIK i9100P can use run the same firmware as the international i9100.
From my sources, S2 should be updated directly to 4.1.2, They are in the final testing stages of updating and hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks we should be getting the update...or atleast leaks! Same for the Galaxy Note

get a aokp based rom and u can have 4.1.2 right now and probably it will be faster then samsung stock full of crap...
