Yeah pretty normal, screen does take a lot of power.

Yeah, true. But our legend's battery tech is from 2 years back. My evo 3d, on heavy use plus network in here has very poor signal, still can last 1 and half day..

Battery life can stretch depending on how smart you use it but if its a constant heavy usage then 6 hours is no surprise (I sometimes get 7-8 hrs but meh)

About 7 hours for me. I'm planning to buy an extended battery . I always have to check my Facebook and twitter every hour and send about 400 texts a day and run Google music. In pretty sure if I was using my sister's evo it would only last me 5 hours lol.

So it is better then the evo?
Anybody know about vs the photon
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
Yes it better than the Evo not by much but I'm sure that the Devs will cook some kernals up for the 3d to improve battery life a bit more. I'm not sure about the photon, but I know that the photon has a slightly smaller battery, 1500mah I believe. But it's not size that matters, it's how you use it.

If you're not worried about how big your phone is just get a seidio super extended battery. I got the biggest one they make for the Evo 3D, 4000mHa, and it lasts about two days and I'm a pretty heavy user. Even if you are a heavy multimedia user the 4000mHa will last you all day no problem.

Mine shows 12hrs up time with 3.5hrs awake time and still has 60% battery left on stock ROM. I guess I would call it light to moderate use. I should be within that range by the end of the night.

So after 2-3 weeks of playing with stock ics rom which i update over the air, i decided to root and install custom roms. I flashed Speed Rom 4.0. However, I feel like that the stock ics rom battery is just better than the custom rom. My use of amaze for a day is 2-3 hours of listening to music, 2-3 hours of web browsing, 2 hours of gaming ( tower defense ) and that's when I come back home and my stock rom battery is left with about 30%. However, when I flashed custom rom, I notice that my battery drain faster than before and after a regular day of using I only end up with about 10% left. Anyone has insight on such problem like this?

I mostly care that my battery can last through a day. My NRG ROM will give me a day easily, with about 1 - 2 hours of screen on time over the period. A lot of it depends on the strength of the 4G cell towers around you (in my experience); the phone uses more juice when seeking towers. The latest NRG is pretty good at not "hunting" for 4G.
Yeah... Looks pretty common I guess for a phone that's screen was hardly on

we all know that the battery life is crap on the amaze. It's no surprise. What I've been wondering since is why? why is it such a battery hog. In terms of CPU and ram, it's only slightly higher than the sensation and the sensation has a great battery life. I know the sensation and Amaze are completely different phones and hardware is completely different, but what makes the amaze have such a bad battery life? anyone ever able to figure this out?

It's the display, it uses too much power and heats up too quickly, which uses more energy than it should, that's just imo though.

In my experience the battery life on the EVO LTE is great, but it varies more than other phones I've used, based on how I use it. graphics-intensive games and other apps that keep the screen on and run the processor at the same time use it the most. You can do plenty of web browsing provided you keep the screen brightness halfway down, I use the automatic setting and don't notice much battery drain when browsing, but if you turn the brightness to it's highest setting you'll definitely notice more battery drain. I love the 4.7" screen but there's no way a screen that big isn't going to draw a lot of power with the backlight turned up. As for streaming music, that's no problem. I've listened to pandora for hours at a time with the screen off and only seen single-digit drops in battery percentage.

I for one think that the battery life sucks on this phone. But I only can compare to the phone i had before the droid x from verizon, I could go 24 hours on the droid x but on the evo I get around 16 on normal everyday usage. now suppose I came from the evo or evo 3d phones and had a phone with that drained the power off the phone then I would be saying this phones battery rocks.
but with that all being said 16 hours on a smart phone really is not that bad.
I'm currently on the Rezound, and considering moving to the DNA.
Can you get 3-5 hours of screen on and still make 24 hours total on one charge?
Has it rebooted? Does Bluetooth give you issues? Etc.
I'm reluctant to upgrade without a solid improvement.
Please convince me before the 8x or some other crazy device does.
