are all the galaxy Notes the same size? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Hey everyone , its great to have a good forum to come too and talk about our awesome phones. I just got my note and iv been on the hunt for a good case, but now im noticing that there are different model numbers for the note. Such as the N - 7000 model , but I currently have the SGH - i717 , and im wondering all the notes are the same size. Cuz It would suck if I bought a case and it didnt fit!

n7000 is the international version, i717 is att version and i believe also bell and rogers

They're all the same size. The only thing that will not work is the battery covers for the n7000, as the tabs are slightly different.

Hey, there's a difference between the home buttons on the international version and the at&t. The i717 has all capacitive buttons while the other has a big home button and two capacitive so a case may covers those buttons in the wrong spots if its not for the right model. Also I believe the back battery covers are different too. They have close tabs in different places. I hope that helps ya!

This is true. Those custom battery covers for the N7000 from ebay won't work with an i717, but cases do. The button placements are also identical, save for the absence of the 'home' button on the i717, as mentioned above my post.
I have owned both and haven't had a case for the N7000 that didn't fit the i717 perfectly.

anyone know where i can get?

a Samsung Galaxy Note SGH-I717 Battery Door - Replacement white
i can't find one anywhere on the web. if you know a site please let me know thanks.
You could always just buy an official SAMSUNG folio case and cut off the leather flap. The replacement backs that come on these are thicker and stronger anyways.... Just a thought.

There are a few problems with that.
1) international note tabs are larger and therefore will require modification to work
2) no NFC. Sure, it's disabled now, but soon it will be available for use.
3) Does not look the same. It says Samsung, not Galaxy Note. That's more personal preference.

MADE IN Korea, China, ??

Ok after receiving my a new White SGH-I717, I started to notice differences right away, albeit subtle ones.
My Original, Made in Korea (MIK) had a brighter / shinier chrome accent, on screen display of blacks are darker.
Noticed the Made In China (MIC) the bezel between the chrome to glass/screen is slightly taller. The screen is brighter, blacks are less dark.
What else has anyone else noticed?

This is an interesting topic. I didn't realize the Note was manufactured in China and Korea. Interestingly enough, I recently exchanged my Note for a replacement, and so far, the only differences I can see is the s-pen fits more snuggly. I haven't noticed any other differences yet.

If it's anything like the GS2 and Galaxy Nexus, the Chinese-made phones are better.

This is true for my MIC Note, the pen fit snug(ger) to the point it seems to get snagged on the crease depending on how it's pulled out.
Do you have your previous one to compare side by side? Were they both "made in" the same place?

I am guessing they have better manufacturing facilities and better access to the materials, since they have a longer history of being mass producers.
What is everyone's revision number? (assuming that's what rev stands for)
Mine is Korea and rev.3
I'm wondering if there's anything we can figure out or if they're simply being produced simultaneously in both factories.

This really has no significance. In many products, Korean made are far above Chinese made. It all comes down to what we're talking about and the factory.
Though, if MIC Samsung phones are known for being better than MIK Samsung phones... I would imagine the quality control would stay the same throughout the whole lineup and things would follow this pattern for the note.
I think you might be on to something...
My original black note was MIK Rev3. Lots of issues!
But my new white note is MIC Rev3. It has no lag, excellent battery do far, and no signs of black pixelation. And the chrome is brighter to me than my previous note.

Galaxy note i717 and n7000

i am wondering if i can buy a case that is ''suposed'' to fit on the n7000 and i9220 and put it on my i717 note ?
Yes. Battery covers won't work because the tabs won't line up but cases are fine.

GALAXY NOTE i717 146.9 x 83 x 9.7 mm
GALAXY NOTE N7000 146.8 x 83 x 9.7 mm

Yes, that will work with the i717 Note. Please do a review (in the Accessories section) once you recieve it. There are others that might want one, too. Thanks.
I have a seidio active case with holster that I switch between my two GNotes. I just ordered the active case with the kickstand today from Android Central for $19.00 so I will not have to switch out the cases. It fits either model.
19.00???? Was it sale?

n7000 vs i717 - Back cover and S-Pen compatibility

Hello
I was searching on ebay for a "flip cover/case" and a replacement stylus. So far, almost every accessory avaliable is for the n7000 international version... but mine is an at&t i717.
Do any of you know if the stylus is compatible between the two models? I know it will work, but note sure if it will fit in place. I have also seen a few nice flip cases (the ones that actually replace your back cover) but the specific ones I like are listed under n7000.
Besides the capacitive buttons, both phones look the same. Can anyone confirm compatibility on back cover and s pen fitment?
Thanks!!
The spen should be OK. The battery covers for the i717 and n7000 have different tab placements on the battery for cover.

This sucks. For the N7000 I can find every single colored flip case, back covers in aluminum with different finishes, etc. Is there a way to force an N7000 cover on an i717?

[Q] What made you choose to use the S 3 over the Note 2?

What made you decide to go S 3 instead of Note 2 (other than the S 3 coming out earlier)?
because it came out before the note 2, so i bought it before. actually my wife bought it for my. the huge note2 isn't for me anyways
sent from where i'm at.
Because S3 still fit in my pocket.

The same for me
Held both in my hand, decided which would be less ridiculous holding to my ear at work - bought the S3. Larger screen would have been kinder on the eyes but harder on the ego.
S3 fits in my hand and in my pocket. Note 2 does not. I don't make use of the S Pen, so easy decision
The S3 is more "user friendly"

I actually want the note 2.. I love the extra screen estate but I bought the s3 first. But the support for s3 is great, so no complaints there.

Phone with 5" screen is the limit to me.... For bigger device I'll need to use rucksack or "purse" No... Thanks
