[Q] EVO 3D Rom Help - HTC EVO 3D

hey ladies and gents,
I have a problem...I went to flash the ZR3D rom because I had a problem updating the new mean rom 3.92 so I wanted to see if the problem occurred with this rom as well (yes I did the cache and dalvic cache and superwipe etc etc haha) and when it gets passed the htc and the boot animation of this rom or any other roms it jus sits there and freezes and wont go to the google login screen....I even re-partitioned my sd card and factory reseted my evo 3d (yes I am on the newest OTA as well fyi)...The odd thing is I been flashing roms forever now and this never happened before...like I said all it does is sit there at the main screen but freezes and doesnt bring up the appropriate set up info....anyways any help or information would be greatly appreciated as I haven't had a working mobile device for 2.5 days now haha
Thanks!!!

Try reflashing your recovery.

Sounds like your kernel didn't flash correctly.

Need help with evo 3d stuck at boot screen

Hey guys maybe some budy can help, I can go into recovery and wipe data, cache etc.. but for some reason I can't run any rom that runs with sence they all get stuck at boot screen, the phone freezes,.. but I can intall miui through fastboot and everything runs ok, rom boots it doesn't get stuch what's happening, by the way I unrooted the phone the HTC way so I'm on 1.5..
You need to reinstall a different kernel through fastboot usb. If miui works then a sense rom won't until you flash compatible kernel.

Similar problem being stuck in boot screen
I am on twrp shooter 2.0 with hboot 1.5 and I was running syncombelite when I tried to in stall the CM9 Alpha build and I was not having luck with loading the rom through recovery so I tried to use Flash image GUI. It loaded the image but after it was done it would not boot. I was stuck on the HTC boot screen. I tried to do a nandroid recovery and the same thing over and over. I figured maybe try a different rom so I tried a couple.. I used one and it actually made it past the boot screen and loaded the Beats audio logo then was stuck there for maybe 30 minutes before I tried a reboot and the same thing. Then I though I wll do a superwipe so I downloaded the synergy superwipe along with the
fresh-evo-3d-4.2.0 then it made it past the HTC boot and just went black for another 30 minutes. Now I am at a loss. Please help me...
Dale if your reading this I am the guy you helped a while back with the Toshiba thrive..maybe a month ago then I made a generous donation. I am happy to pay someone for their time. Please help..I need my phone. Thanks all.

The recovery you use shouldn't matter. I have used CWM touch and non and TWRP all the same as long as it works for you. The easy way to flash CM9 is to use FlashImageGUI.apk before you wipe your current rom. Do not wipe ROM before using FlashGUI as it needs a OS to run on.
First flash recovery, whichever you want. If you don't already have one.
Put CM9 on sd
Flash boot.img from CM9.zip with Flash...GUI.apk (browse to CW9 on sd card)
Boot recovery, Flash rom from there.
(Flash..GUI should ask if you want to boot recovery after flash)
I used TWRP to flash CM9 tonight so I know it works 100%
I have tried that and I get stuck at HTC boot screen. I'm at a loss. I finally got virus eternity to flash using fastboot on my pc. I then tried ics (yes I know that's not what we were talking about) but I can't flash many different Roms lately. It's just weird. I have been rooting and flashing for a couple years now but I'm feeling more noobish lately than ever.

[Q] Thunderbolt help! Hanging at HTC logo, but can access clockwork recovery

Yesterday I unplugged my phone and it wouldn't start. Had to take out battery and SD card to get it to eventually start, but it hung on the HTC white screen.
I can access the clockwork recovery screen, and have even been able to load previous backups and new roms to see if anything will work, but it won't let me get past that white HTC screen.
I feel like I'm close because I can still access the recovery menu, but something's up. So I have a few questions that if anyone can answer I will appreciate more than you know.
1) Is there a way to unroot my phone from the recovery menu/PC access so I can get it replaced by Verizon if it is a hardware problem? I know, I know, I did it to myself, but if there's a way out, I'll take it.
2) What are RUU files and would they somehow fix this? I am not against unrooting and going back to stock, especially after this scare.
3) As of now I have DasBampf 1.8.6 and MR2 radio on the phone. Will the RUU remove these and flash a whole new Radio/ROM? Again, I know I'm an idiot, but I need help. Help me Obi Wan!
4) I'll check back if anyone needs more info. BTW, the phone only boots into recovery *power+down volume* Won't turn on manually. I've tried another SD card, I've tried other ROMS. I have NOT tried any new radios yet, as I'm scared to accidentally brick it.
Thanks in advance.
go into bootloader (when it's off hold power button and volume down until white screen pops up) wait for it to check your sd card, then click wipe data. it should boot up after its done wiping the data, if not you might have to select reboot in recovery.
RUU update.
I flashed the 2.11.605.5 build of the new RUU. It started out fine, and then it failed at user data, system, and one other. Now it's still in the same hanging screen. What the hell!?
Please help me before I **** this thing up even more.
OTA updates are the DEVIL!!!!!! You people need to block them and stop installing the unrooted version while you are rooted with no reguard to your phones safety. If you are rooted install the rooted version of the OTA.
If I helped please use the thank you button and donate a free account to my dropbox http://db.tt/uDc7iw7x
I didn't read the op but if its hanging on htc screen with new ota try flashing the radio the new ota has or an older one. Had that issue with my EVO.
The wrong radio will cause your phone to never pass htc screen.

Haven't tried anything new yet, but besides one time this morning, I can't even get to the bootloader. Won't turn on, even with a spare charged working battery. Time to call Verizon and maybe eat the payment, methinks.
Update for anyone interested.
I got onto IRC and contacted Jcase, who had me flash a new RUU, which seemed to fix the problem.
HOWEVER, my phone is still FUBAR, as it shuts off periodically and will not allow me to call out. I managed to go through the entire unroot process and got my phone back to original status. I have a replacement coming from Verizon soon and although I think it's a hardware problem with my phone, I don't think I'll be rooting again anytime before my warranty expires. Thanks for all the help everyone.
need help
Hey guys, I was trying to unroot my thunderbolt but jacked things up. I had it wipe all date, now will not boot Its still rooted. When i go into the reboot mood its by Revolutionary. Info it displays where it gives me options of fastboot, recover, factory reset, simlock, hboot usb and image crc is
Revolutionary
MECHA XD SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.O4.1002
MICROP-/
RADIO-1.49.00.0406v_1
eMMC-BOOT
Idk if that helps. It doesnt reboot or does a looping process. Just stays at the white htc screen and doesnt say anything, and is not the screen where it says htc quietly brilliant. When i go into recovery 4ext recovery touch is whats available, current rom:unknown. Im fairly new so i would greatly appreciate any help, I like this phone alot and would hate to use something else. I dont care if after everything is said and done its still rooted or not. I have my personal info still on my card and a backup on my computer so im safe on that and dont care if i lose everything on the phone. Also i did not try to do the ota update.
Because you wiped all your data to ahead and wipe cache and dalvik cache and system. Then flash another rom.

If you dont me asking, is there a step process you can suggest or point me to? Idk how to flash the rom and am new to this scene.
When flashing a rom. Wipe caches (cache and dalvik cache), wipe data (most of the time I recommend doing this), and system/boot partitions. Then after wiping all of those choose the option to flash a rom( I haven't used clockworkmod recovery in ages and I don't remember what they list that option as). When the installation is completed reboot and if all goes well you should be running a custom rom of your choosing. I would suggest you ditch cwm for 4ext recovery just as soon as you can. Cwm has some unusual bugs where the caches may not be properly wiped and your rom won't boot because of this.

I know back in the EVO days of no 4EXT Virus had a SuperWipe. It would wipe everything 3 times in CWM. If you are persistent to keep CWM you might want to try that... I think I have it somewhere I can make compatible for the Thunderbolt. But it is highly recommended to use 4EXT instead.
I had it at one point too but wiping 3x or 10x just to flash a rom is ridiculous.

Can't flash a working rom back to my Amaze

Hi guys. So here's my problem. I recently tried to update my phone to the latest version of NRG's Energy Rom using CWM. In the process I did a factory data wipe, and wiped the dalvik cache. I then flashed the rom as normal, but when I rebooted all I got was the white screen with the green HTC logo. It refuses to go any further. I can still get into recovery if needed, and I've tried a ton of different things, but to no avail. Anybody have any ideas as to what I need to do or is this thing hosed?
The phone is S-ON at the moment with an unlocked bootloader.
Any help is appreciated.

Flash the wipe script, flash the rom you wanted, when the phone boots up, let it sit for a few minutes, like 10 should be good.
Well I'll be damned. I could have sworn I tried that, but there we go. Thank you so much for the help.

Also, get rid of CWM and use 4ext recovery. It's in the dev section... And its the preferred recovery by most amaze users. I have a thread in Dev section
It allows you to flash kernel automatically when flashing ROM, that way you don't have to use a kernel flasher. Plus many other features.

Thanks for the info. I've been looking at recent posts and it seems I'm behind on a few things, including getting s-off.
Weird Problem
I had the same problem but I don't want to lock and re-unlock my bootloader. And this has never happened but my CWM Recovery isn't working. I didn't use 4ext bc this happened last time with that recovery. Is there any way to find the wipe script to use it from fastboot?
Tried kernel flashing; re-flashing recovery...second time this happened with s-on on speed rom
Had to re-wipe phone and re-flash everything...Got it working again! Weird problem though?!?!

flash boot.img manualy via fastboot
i have tried that i have tried it through command prompt i dont know what i'm doing wrong lol
i dont know if its because it's still hboot 1.5 s-on or what it is and i dont have a linux machine to do the downgrade method.
ok i fixed it re tried inbrededs rom and it boots up and i get unfortunatley the process android.process.acore has stopped working. any ideas.
Did you wipe your cache, dalvik's cache and factory reset your phone from Recovery before flashing ? If not, that might be the issue.
change rom
Personally Ive been modding my phone for years now and Ive ran into similiar issues a couple of times. My recomendation is to try a few different roms and see which one workks for you. I am using meanrom and will not be using anyother one for awhile. its rock solid and fast not to mention great battery life. try it you have nothing to loose but an awsome phone to gain.

As a last resort you can flash the stock RUU via fastboot, you will still have S-OFF if you had it previously but you will need to reflash recovery and superuser or the rom you want...

HTC Amaze Speedrom wifi error and rom booting

Hey can anyone help me with this issue? I have been using Supersayain 3 rom and just switched back to the Speedrom 6.5 that Eclipze released, I did a full wipe and also wiped both caches using 4ext recovery 1.0.0.5 rc3. I dont know what the problem is cuz Ive tried the 7.0 as well and still have the same wifi error problem. Can anyone help? I also have a problem when trying to run the team nightmare speedrom thing where it doesnt boot and stays on the spinning cyanogenmod screen, another rom having problems booting with is the sense 4.0 by team nightmare because it stays on the htc bootanimation screen and doesnt change, I remember I read in his thread that I need to install the kernel from his thread but the kernel is also down from goo.im. Anyone please help with some of my problems, before this I used to run supersayain 2 and had no problems at all with switching roms. I dont have any idea of what I couldve done wrong, before switching to any rom I also do a full wipe and wipe both caches and sometimes the int sd as well.
Can anyone give me any help, this thread has had over 100 views and not one person had replied. That's disappointing..
