How can i move the apps to different rom? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

well....i have tested, and i am testing different roms, and everytime i had to install all the applications back.is there a method to make a backup or something to move the apps from a rom to another one?thanks in advance!

It will require root, but Titanium Backup in the Play Store is the way to go.

first root phone
To do this you should backup applications such as titanium backup or mybackup To use. The time of application, data may be used in other ROM.

Perhaps a dumb question

I did a mild search and didn't find anything, so sorry if this is a repost.
I want to try new roms, but don't want to go through the headache of redownloading all the apps that I have, is there an easy way to back up my existing apps so I can flash a new rom and just "reload" my old apps?
Does Titanium backup do this? (i've never really used it)
Yes. Use titanium. But use it only to restore apps, never system settings
Sent from my thunderbolt
You can also use MyBackup Root (for both apps, data). The interface is very simplistic and straight to the point, if you don't want all the stuff packed into Titanium.
No dumb questions. Most roms will just auto restore your apps when you sign in with your gmail acct, but some do have the feature disabled so then I would recommend titanium backup. If your new to the root game I would definitely recommend the paid versions of root explorer, titanium backup, and ROM manager at the very least. With the paid version of titanium you can also run the market doctor to restore the market links for your apps if for some reason they do not show up I'm the market after you restore them. Good luck!
Awesome, thanks guys! I appreciate it.

Can I Uninstall Titanium Backup from Phone?

is it safe to uninstall titanium backup from my phone? i already can backup my phone through backup when i boot into recovery. is it necessary therefore to have?
It is useful to have when switching from ROM to ROM to backup your apps. Lets say you switch ROMs...you use the new ROM for 2 weeks and you decide you don't like it. During that 2 weeks you added 10 new apps. When you revert to your nandroid backup, you will not have those apps. Also, some apps dont install automatically when switching ROMs. So it is a pretty necessary app...
It is quite convenient to have but yes, it is safe to remove it.
But what happens with the system apps that I have frozen with TB ? Will they get defrosted?

what is the best way to take a complete backup of installed apps and data?

hello,
I want to know which is the best way to take a complete backup of all my apps and restore it with the app data when i install a new app? as installing all apps is pretty cumbersome when u migrate to a new rom.
thanks for the suggestions
Titanium Backup.

What do most of you use to backup and restore apps after a clean install?

I like to use custom ROMs and typically dirty flash because it is such a hassle to backup and restore my apps and data.
I have had titanium backup pro for years. In the past I'd be able to create a flashable zip of all my apps and data but there seems to be a bug where it places the zip in internal storage eventhough I have the backup location set for external. Therefore I am left with restoring from the titanium app. However the restore and backups are painfully slow for some reason. It may take half an hour to restore one app sometimes. What alternatives are available?
I can use google to restore but it restores over the internet so it takes forever to download apps. It doesnt seem to fully backup app settings.
My primary backup now is just a TWRP backup of the entire rom + data

Restore APPs

Hey community,
i want to backup my apps, but which is the best tool to backup it ?
A backup over TWRP i have with all my stuff. The Issue is that i have to delete my system bc it fail's the safety pass.
so i think i do it with titanium backup. Titanium Backup fails if i want to restore a few of apps (like spotify, where i don't know my password anymore).
so what you recommend to backup apps with the data ?
thanks
(i use stock rom)
