HI All.
I have some problem with my xperia active touchscreen.
Its gonna untouchable on some are at top(on a line with volume key) and right bottom ( at backspace T9 keyboard).
I was test it with Service Setting Menu ( *#*#7378423#*#*) and bellow result.
I make line from top to bottom,but the line break on untouchable area that i said.On top screen and on right bottom.

I was update firmware to 4.0.2.A.0.62 but that cannot fix the problem.
Sometimes i have problem too with my home,back and menu key.Its gonna crazy vibrate when heat about 45 celcius.
I have read another thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1387605 ) that have simillar problem with me,but that on Xperia Mini.Can it apply on my Xperia Active and how?
Have i put my xperia active to dealer for fix it?

i have a friend with a mini and he just took the phone to the service center for recalibration.
if your comfortable doing the steps indicated in the thread then go ahead,
but if units is still under warranty i would recommend just taking it to the service center.
Hello there, i have the same problem.with my touchscreen...i also had the same problem with the back buttons etc. But i sent it to a service centre,and (as the receipt says) they changed the shield can...it was getting overheat and the back button was presswd on it's own... I thnk you should send it to a service centre

Be patient, it will take some time before people check this thread and post the answer.
As I said, it depends on the shop, how many other phones need to be repaired, if the parts are available etc.
I have almost the same problem with my xperia active. Does someone had a solution on it?

Sooo... will the warranty still cover this?
Just a couple of hours ago just when I received the dongle(took longer then a month, but I can't complain ) I randomly tried GPS Essentials Camera feature and whaddya know? It doesn't work anymore. I think the camera just pop'ed from the board or something, but how? this thing is way to expensive to throw it anywhere like some nokia device. I've been so careful with it, sure I have some scratches here and there but I had nothing like this before...

Common problem. Search. RMA only choice.
Well I didn't notice anything like this to roll around in the forums so I'll ask here: Can I fix it myself maybe? or can't I because of some warranty stickers in the way?

As I can guess, you can't fix it completely by yourself. My tablet has the same problem and it is now in service centre. Waiting for the results.(Best variant is receiving it on Wednesday).

In fact, if you have warranty card, you can try and send it to your service centre. If it won't help, try to get your money back.

Hi
I have a Galaxy S3 white 16gb.
One of the first first things a did when first turning on my new phone was to try the camera. I switched from the back to the front camera and then back again and now the camera app wont even open. After about 20 seconds after opening the camera app I get ' Unfortunately, Camera has stopped.'.
I thought if I turned the phone off and on again this may fix the problem but no. I then removed the battery for a few seconds but this again, this did not fix the problem.
The only way I could get the camera to work again was to do a factor reset. I just have to open up the camera app and switch from back to front and back again and the same problem occurs.
Is it only me?

Hi,
No I'm not keeping mine. I also contacted samsung and they have said to return it to the supplier.
As for the firmware I connected mine to Kies and Kies informed me that my phone was not compatabile for a firmware upgrade via Kies. I can only guess that there is no firmware upgrade available.

I have been chatting in the Vodafone UK eforum.
I have spoken to Vodafone and they said it is not a known issue so seems like a hardware problem with my device. They are arranging for a new one to be sent to me Thursday so I can swap.
Other than that is seems like a great device.

I just tried what you said - took a pic with the front camera, switched to the back and took another, then closed and restarted the camera - and it worked fine for me.
Although I did spot that you're on a later revision than I am (my phone's SIM-free)

Yes I know that "well it works for me" isn't that helpful. That said, maybe you can use this as "evidence" that you've got a busted phone? HTH
Hello, I have a European RAZR Maxx with ICS, not rooted and not anything. A factory reset was done right after the OTA update a few weeks ago. Yesterday, as I was reading some news, the screen started to jitter, flickering horizontally about 5 mm. The phone was still functional, screen was responsive but it was jittery in a very upsetting way. I did a soft reset and it did not help, then I switched it off for an hour and the problem went away. It has not come back since but I am very worried. Should I send it to service? Or was it just some soft issue? I hadn't installed any app immediately before it started to happen. I appreciate anyone's opinion. Thanks!

It's not rooted. In the meantime, I think I realized it only does that when I use flipboard. I un installed it and the problem went away.

If you uninstall a program and things work ok, then its not your phone. Relax. =p
Sometimes the atualization of software bring bugs and then we tend to think its our phone. =/

This is most likely due to glitches in hardware acceleration. It is so common that some apps have an option to disable use of hardware acceleration.
Out of curiosity, what is the exact version of your firmware? MIUI, which is based on an early ICS release, displays this behavior quite frequently, whereas it doesn't show up on the final ICS release of stock firmware.

Yeah its on all screens when I have the spen on that area of the screen the onscreen icon bounces alk over the place like I have tremors in my hands. Since I acquired this unit from eBay I have no idea of its history but I can assure you that I have not done anything to this unit. If I had gotten this unit from a carrier I would have a plane on it and have it exchanged it by now but I don't have that luxury. The only other thing can think of is to replace the entire screen unit but that is not worth the price since I got a really good deal on the entire unit. If I was to go that route I might as well replace the entire unit for the price I paid for it ya know?

Well, I'm thinking you should flash the correct stock rom. Whether you want the latest Jelly Bean or the previous Ice Cream Sandwich is a personal choice, but make it 100% stock to erase any previous work.
If that clears up your issue, good. If not, then you know its the hardware.
Did you try another pen from another phone or tablet?
I am thinking its a hardware problem cause I am running stock and it has persisted from ICS and I bought an spend for a note 10 cause I wanted something bigger, insert joke here, and the issue is still there. Unfortunaly for me, I no longer have the funds to acquire a new display kit so I guess I am gonna have to live with the issue... Thank you for your ideas I do appreciate it

I had the same issue and is persistent amongst roms. It's a miss-aligned reader for the spen. it was very common in a lot of the first run models. I have the same issue even right now with my refurb though on the right side of my screen but and not as bad but my initial Note had the exact same border as yours.

Hi There,
My wife just got her S5 and right from the get go she started noticing issues. She then restarted it and it worked fine for a small length of time. From what I can gather it has a yellow screen and when you try and do anything it kicks it back to a black screen.So essentially you can't do anything with it. I've played around with lot's of phones but never had something quite like this on a brand new phone that just arrived.
Here are a couple pictures that she sent me. If any of you can give any insight it's greatly appreciated. I've been scowering the web as I'm a work right now and I can't turn up anything.

Maybe by entering the recovery and factory resetting it. That's the only thing I will try before I go to Tmobile and complain furiously!

I appreciate the suggestion. I'll give it a try, it can't really hurt anything. I worry it's something in the display/hardware itself of which it's my understanding Tmobile has them backordered at this point.

Definitely return/exchange that when you can. I'd even go by just to tell them so they don't pull any "hey why didn't you come in earlier?" stuff on ya. But that's definitely a hardware issue that shouldn't be happening.

No problem. Doesn't matter if it's back ordered or not, new shipments come every week. You payed for a new phone and that's what you should get. For future reference make sure you also get the handset protection if you don't have it.
