It was an amazing app, I see no reason to leave such an app alone with no update for about 11 months.
Dev, please return soon. Hopefully nothing tragic has happened :/

Yep, this. A year since an update now. But at least it works fine in ICS, unlike ADW EX, which has weird lines in places and can't put icons in the top area of the screen.
I thought the dev passed away. I think I read that somewhere, not trying to troll.

Same for me, works great on SGS2 and an AOKP custom rom under ICS.
I bought this way back before he released the unlocker on the market. I still have my unlock code on a paper in my wallet from around 2010. I used this launcher religiously on each of my phones and setup some sweet themes around it. Now that I've got Ice Cream Sandwich on all of them LP is irrelevant. The dev abandoned us midway through last year, and so in turn I have abandoned his app. Wish I had that money now so I could buy Apex Pro. It's quite a shame.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's been abandoned. Sad, because I really liked that launcher. I just Nova or Apex now, but it'd be nice if development had continued on something that a lot of people paid for.

I haven't tried it on my phone with CM9 yet, but on HC, it had a redundant menu button in the corner of the screen, and nothing could be placed in the row that the menu button was in.

Never worked for me. I just gave up on it. I'm not too upset about that, because I only paid 10 cents for it.
I have been following pretty closely on the launcherpro forums on the status of any updates. Supposedly Fedirico or whatever his name is, is completely rebuilding the apps after an illness. From time to time he comes on the forums stating that the work is ongoing when someone is complaining about the lack of updates. However I have seen no results nor any evidence that this is happening. Just his word and his wife's (I'm assuming she's the one running the forums).

Exactly. There's always been someone else saying 'hes working on it' for well over a year now but no word from Fede himself. Even ADW EX got an update since then and that was declared dead not long after LP.
Sent from my GT-I9100
I think what's really put the nail in the coffin for many of us is Fede and whateverhernameis's attitude towards those of us who have been waiting for over a year for a solid update. Getting ANY sort of actual update status on this supposed "rewrite" has been like pulling teeth, and his board overseer acts as if we have no right to ask what the hell's going on, or wonder if it's dead. After all, we've only PAID for the freakin' thing. It's been "he's working on it, stop whining" instead of anything substantial.
So I said to hell with it, jumped to ADW EX when they were on the 10 cent discount, and haven't looked back.
i gave up on LPP ages ago. was obvious that nothing new was forthcoming and (IMO) the only reason the site is still up is to try and fleece people into buying the app still

Sounds like an app used to continously update ICS test phones, probably also used to log data, keep track of them and remotely kill them if needed...
Not something you'll see on phones delivered to customers.
EDIT: seems like these pictures are fake, but test phones, especially for field tests, usually have some kind of management software.
lol its an app called ics launcher and it comes with ics update to update itself, and why do you think he's covered up the top bar because his icons are stock sgs2!

So fake.
Search widget is completely different in ICS.
It's a fake.
It's ICS launcher found on XDA. The new Market (3.2.0) have a new icon, not the one shown. The search widget is the same just rethemed with a Chrome icon. The clock widget is a Honeycomb-like one, not the one Androidpolice shown from ICS leak.
And the sheet is a fake... I can't really say anything, but there is no such document listing code enumerations existing, and it wouldn't be of any use for a programmer. It should be at least a few pages long, explaning some detailed things about internal stuff. Not... Java's garbage collector docs...
I'm just saying, what if samsung surprised us on the ICS release day with a update to or device

There's been 3 2.3.5 testmode drops from my carrier with KJ datecodes already.
From what i've seen, which isn't much, the flagship phone for ICS seems to lack any real buttons, leaving touch screen buttons. Now, how is taht going to play with our devices that have actual buttons? Seems like a big production to do

There are a few working versions floating around on the net already for this. Does seem quite good and different vs the other mainstream launchers which are all quite similar
Yea it got released, it's almost 17 dollars
its pricey but the more I use it the better it is. Once you customise it to your liking its very fast, fluidic in its motions and the animations etc are great. needs more options like 5 screen limitations etc but great potential and it's quick, next to no lag. I only had a freeze once and to reboot the phone to respond otherwise it's great. v1.3 working great with the box theme

Yeah, if CM7 could be easily ported to the Rezound, I'd definitely take that for now.
It bugs me how opening the dial pad blocks the speakerphone toggle on the call screen. It also does this on the iPhone. AOSP Android just covers the picture with the dialpad when needed.
At least on the Rezound it's easy to quickly hide the dialpad again. iPhone 4S toggling is kind of slow. At least on my friend's.
If I knew anything about porting roms I would try. I even have a dual xeon workstation to use for it.

Anyone else in here dying of anticipation for the CM7 beta to be released? I find myself checking the XDA thread and dragonzkiller's twitter like every 10 minutes or so.

I would say, try the alpha just to get aquainted, you know the beta release will be here any day.

You better believeI'm excited. I ran CM7 on my HTC Desire and loved it. Can't wait for Theme Chooser, gesture unlock, fully configurable notification tray power widgets, and (most importantly) the complete annihilation of Blur.
By the way, guys that are running the Alpha, are you noticing more available memory for applications in CM7? I was thinking about giving that SPB Shell 3D launcher a try, but not at the expense of my X2's already limited RAM.
Dragonzkiller and the rest of the team that got us here are rockstars--we should all skip today's Starbucks fix and support them! (If for no reason other than the entirely selfish one that maybe if we show our few devs how much we appreciate the effort, we can expect a CM9 port in a few months...)
I would wait on the 3D shell until the beta. I've tried it and it's really not that much cooler than go launcher. I wound up uninstalling after a week. I do agree however that everyone should be throwing gobs of money at dragonzkiller. There has been a MASSIVE amount of time, effort, and frustration that has gone into getting us to this point with CM7.

I read about a couple devices that are launching with it, they're kinda generic tho. No big names... I paid the 15 bucks for it a year and a half ago, never used it for more than a few hours. The Widgets have some decent animation, but the whole thing is rather gimmicky. To get them all going you have to have like 10 screens, and at that point its much easier to just go to the app drawer like any other launcher. Neat but not useful. Plus the dock is atrocious.

Due simply to the One? No. MeanBean has been dead for a while. Viper appears to have been complete since February. CM10.1 is still in the works. Stock is still being worked on. I'm sure the Sense 5 Port and others aren't just being set aside to never be touched again. I could be wrong about that though.

Could be wrong but have to agree, sense 5 may take a little while longer to get rolling, but there other roms that just dropped. Im a big supporter of utkaar99's work here. If you like sense try his HatkaLTE or his Rage ROM. If you like AOSP ,take a look at jaimeg's threads. Still some stuff happening here just a little slow right now. As far as the One, its true we're loosing some folks to that forum, but thats how it works here at xda. I mysrlf was going to get a One or the samsung 4 but decided to hold, mainly just to see how long this forum will last. Hope its like the Heroc was, even in low activity it still pushed on. Same with the Evo4G, still hangin in there 3D is the same, still going strong. We may pick up some of theirs in the future hopefully. Just gotta hang tough.
*Information IS the most dangerous weapon of all*
It isn't like the days of the original evo. I always had a new Rom to play with and so I wait patiently 4 the next big rom release. I refuse to use a Rom that doesn't have full functionalities. I need my phone to just work so I am staying on mean bean until something worthy replaces it. I do love viper Rom as well.

I know viper is working on something that will allow mods and roms for the one on other carriers to work on the Sprint variant and vice versa. One development is about to explode. That said we still have some quality roms here in lte land. If you have the time, you can learn to develop and theme.

I think everyone was so used to getting different roms and constant updates to feed the addiction... What they have done is awesome and the part about the roms being complete is true, I can't think of much that can be done with viper, been using it for a while and it's bad ass.. Just debating the One, not sure if I want to jump ship yet, it's fast and smooth, but it's not much better than this in my opinion.

My husband just got the One (his upgrade from the EVO4G). The only features it has that I wish my 4GLTE had are the dual front speakers (the sound is beautiful!), the IR blaster (maybe not super useful, but can be used for triggering our DSLR), and the international SIM card slot.
The aluminum skin is also beautiful, but it's not going to tempt me to upgrade. It also doesn't have an SD slot, so it wouldn't hold all my MP3s.
I hope development doesn't die on this device. I plan on keeping it for quite a while longer.

I'd like to keep it for the 2 years like the ogevo. But I don't know if it will make it.

I keep wondering the same thing. Got another year to go before my upgrade, and definitely can't afford the one straight up. Was hoping when our sense5 update drops sometime this summer (hopefully) that the current favs like mean, viper, and superjelly would be brought up to date with it, but it doesn't seem that'll happen since those devs have moved on to the one or left HTC all together. Not saying new stuff won't drop then, but for now anything sense will be slow.

Actually, it DOES seem like that WILL happen. As I've said earlier that some of the progress on those ROM's have been completed. There's simply no more to do with them which is why there is no update. Just like the OTA from HTC even though they could be doing more.
I think in this new world of quickly progressing smartphones there are a couple of options for xda'ers. One, upgrade yearly to stay with the new device that gets all the attention.
The second option is the progression that this site fosters. Users learn and build their abilities to create by themselves. Many of the past leaders of EvoLTE have left a legacy of development here that can be built upon. Fortunately, the vast majority of the devs around here will gladly allow another person to take over the reigns and continue a build- or even make it thier own creation.
The site was named xdadevelopers. The purpose for the site is to allow users to learn to be developers. All the tools are here.

Something else to consider is that Android 5 (Key Lime) is on the horizon and may be announced at Google I/O in a couple of weeks. A major OS rev often stokes new inspiration for devs and hopefully we'll see ports of Key Lime ROMS to the EVO LTE (e.g. CM, Key Lime based Sense, etc.).
It ain't dead.
Just have to know where to look is all.. not all ROMs get posted on XDA
I'd much rather have more kernel development than rom personally. I'm learning more and more each day the true capability of the hardware and which software elements dampen it's potential. We have a huge hd screen and dual core I could really care less about the One and sense 5. Like someone else said it can't do much more than viper. I'm testing the AOSP waters for now and loving Slim Bean currently.

Just look in the development threads. There are still a lot of really great roms still being worked on.
Yes a few have left but many still have this phone and many more will probably pick it up second hand or now that it's becoming really cheap on sprint.
For ask those worried why don't you go and read a few how-tos and start doing your own thing.
I really hate these threads. They always happen and never produce something good. Just lame really.
