Zips that flash boot images and zImages are attached. Just put the boot image or zImage in the kernel folder inside the zip and flash.

Hey con, now that we are getting s off, has anyone pulled the radios from the different updates? Think the latest radios are causing a lot of my increased temps on the phone.

No this in not the S-off method. This is just something you are able to use once you gain s-off. Check the general section for the s-off method.

What exactly are these? what do they do? edit:nevermind, i figured it out
Is this to replace the HTC image?
You can drop a boot image into it and it will flash it via recovery. It is more of a template/reference for rom/kernel devs now that we have S-OFF. However, it can work for the end user if you put your boot image inside it.
Hey Con,
I'm running stock GB. What command would I use to make a copy of my boot.img in case I Bork my s-off attempt?
Thanks in advance.
Edit...Never mind I got a copy from scottsroms.com
I used to be a developer like you. Then I took an arrow in the knee...

only if you downgrade your hboot to 2.10 or 2.11, and to do that you must be aware of what else you have to do in order for that to function correctly with the rom you're using and radios installed on your phone. It may or may not be worth the effort, depending on your comfort level.
if you flash the boot they gave you it will say something different

I'm assuming your unlocked, even if you relock it will say relocked, tampered cones from having a custom recovery and ics. I have a stealth hboot it requires s-off but will make it look stock for warranty issues.

You got off easy. Sometimes it can get a little nasty in here when you ask an already answered question.
Everyone must still be happy about S-Off or the new leak or something.
Im thinking of buying an htc amaze, but i ain't gonna do that if to gain full root access i have to do that whole 'wire trick.
but if there is any easier way i will go for it...
thanks,
Aryeh

Let me clarify you want s-off if you want kernels to flash at the same time you flash a Rom, also, having s-off will allow you to change the splash screen (HTC white screen)

Option 1) Just unlock the bootloader HTC style.
Option 2) Get S-OFF yourself, it wasnt that hard, I got it first try.
Option 3) Mail me your phone and $20, ill send it back S-OFF with 4EXT recovery.

2 things I need to correct you right there. The name's Keylogger. Keylogger_0.
On a more serious note, my toolkit is FOR s-off users. It does not help one achieve s-off.
And to answer OP's question, currently, the only way to s-off the amaze is through the JuopunutBear method. From what I've heard, the J-Bear method may be tricky, but as long as you follow directions, it is pretty straightforward. Took me many tries, but as long as you use the correct insulated wire, and follow instructions, it isn't too difficult. You just need time and patience.

I am currently running ICS firmware/radio/hboot with CleanRom 4.5 and CWM Recovery. I am S-OFF and need to send my phone back (AGAIN!) due to the proximity sensor not working properly. I've looked around and believe all I need to do is run the GB RUU and I will be back to out of the box stock.
Is that accurate? Will the RUU change my firmware/radio/hboot, and remove the custom recovery? I know I need to follow the steps to S-ON at some point, but when?
Thank you all in advance for your help and have a blessed day!
Run the ruu once or twice. Exe version is greatly preffered in this case. Then S-ON the phone and you will be good to go.

I did already read that. Was just curious what else there is to do at this point. Looking forward to some newer Roms. Hopefully this speeds up that process. Thanks for the reply.
I'm new to HTC but not new to unlocked bootloaders, but what would need to be done to remove the tampered tag? Was it suppose to go off after getting s-off, cause mine didnt or do something else have to be done. New to HTC so don't have no idea

Soff really has no impact on more/newer roms or developers coming to a phone
It makes things significantly easier to flash, allows you to flash older radios and ruu, no need to relock to update or worry about an update relocking your phone
anyone know the file name that we can use to flash us some splash screens now? i need to be up on that
Looking forward to changing that splash screen. We can include kernels with the correct modules that will get flashed with the ROM now. I don't think that was working before.
