[Q] Using Samsung Tablet as Monitor for Mac Mini

Thanks for all the great info guys.
I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer.
I had my Galaxy Tab stolen along with my Macbook Air and need to replace.
This time I would like to get a fully spec'd Mac Mini and get the latest and greatest Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 or 12.1.
Anyone know how to get Samsung tablet to be used as a monitor for Mac Mini? I want to work off Tablet while connected to Mac Mini for
my video and audio work and then use the tablet later for web and other android stuff.
I would prefer a wired connection since Mac Mini has all kinds of ports that are fast.
Anyone know of a work around for this kind of setup?
I need to have both because of the heavy work I do in video and audio on Mac and the the heavy
research I do online with tablet. The pen would be a great help in both systems. I've seen on youtube that
tablets touch screen can be used on Macbooks.
Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan
Ever get any guidance?
Hey Dan --
I'm considering something similar for similar reasons (video/audio editing & writing/research) .... did you ever get any advice for this set up or give it a try? Curious how it worked out ... any and all appreciated.

Baird BA-10 smart tv dongle

Hi hope someone can help.
I recently got an android tv stick called a baird ba10 smart tv dongle. Ive tried for many
Hours trying to get root looking at different methods and ways and i hit a brick wall all the time. I also can not get my laptop to recognise that it is being plugged in when connecting it to USB. The specs i know of the stick which i got from the hardware info app of play store are:
Model: D1601_1g (M202_1G)
Manufacturer: MBX
Chipset: Amlogic meson8b
Android version:4.4.2
Quad core.
Build number: BA-10SMART_1.0.0.3_20151104. 174945.
I have searched Google with all this info and just draw blanks, MBX website does not sell this type of stick leading me to believe that is specifically made by them for baird. Im really hoping someone can shed some light on this stick and maybe point me in the right direction to obtain root.

Ott tv box 4cpu 4gpu (mxq)

Hi all,
I'm fairly new to this TV box stuff and mine arrived with Android 4.4.2 sitting on kernel 3.10.33
Everything looks super outdated so I started doing some digging to see if there are new firmwares that can be installed but didn't find any reliable source for it. If anyone has info about this please share it with us. I also noticed there is a software running which Kodi sits on which I don't think is needed as Kodi can sit directly on Android without issues.
Thanks in advance
same question
bump
Post the hardware specifications
Chance are there are compatible boxes out there where you can borrow a newer rom from.

Archos 101 Childpad - Any custom roms or possible to update past Android 4.2.2 ?

Hi all!
I have Archos 101 Childpad with android 4.2.2 that is slow and sluggish.
Does anyone know if there is a official android upgrade for this tablet, or is it so old it's time for the trash bin?
It's mainly going to be used by my 3 year old son, so simple games and youtube viewing is going to be installed on it.
I don't need the songs/bear functionality it came with, so any newer android version that will run on it (without killing it's performance) is appreciated.
I tried to look at Archos home page, but I couldn't even find the childpad model listed on the page anymore.
I have no idea which gen (8,9,10,???) this tablet is, but I hope I posted this in the correct forum.
Thanks in advance!
Regards

Bomaker Polaris

Hey there, wondering if anyone has tried to hack/upgrade the Bomaker Polaris? It is running Android 6, if nothing else would be nice to upgrade it to Android 9, but also wondering if there are any general guides, or if there is a good way to check if the internals are generic enough I'll have luck hacking it? Any tips would be greatly appreciated

I just got a Polaris too. The built in OS is one of the few cons. I'm currently using the Google TV chromecast which thanks to the CEC, controls work decent enough. What sucks is it only has 2 hdmis and I have to use one for the chromecast since the built in OS is unusable. I'd also ask for some keystone adjustment software to make that process way easier
Something I realized is the newer JMGO U2 looks like it has the exact same hardware as the Polaris! Same CPU, same sensors, same input panel, etc. That means both devices could possibly be combined into one thread on here and with increased user numbers, we may discover cool hacks/mods for both of them. I would even be interested in trying Luna OS (JMGO's OS) on my Polaris. Of course the ultimate goal would be full android TV, but that's probably not an easy port at the moment (Because both the Polaris and U2 are stuck on Android 6.0)
