What kind of ROMs we need vs What we have?? - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Ok this is thread that might feel useless for someone.. But we need to discuss about that..
Why do we need custom ROM; simple we want to feel something different from others. Today if we search our forum we hav ROM which r just cosmetic changes no performance upgrade no battery backup no nothing.. If they can just release a themed ROm create ur own theme and apply it.. I see many ppl(Not all!!) just using zip, extract, change apps, rezip it.. VIOLA one fancy ROM name it release it... Just think DID we really expecting that kinda of a ROM??
What we need??
1. A slight change in ur ROM which non other ROM have and cant even be modified.
2. Try getting things from other forums.
even a noob can modify a ROM today.. Next time anyone release a ROM make sure its not themed.. Thr r many wonderful ROMs in our ACE FORUM... Thanks guys for giving a wonderful ROMs....

The only problem is that CM7 is also too common now....no one bothers to compete with me for AOSP

You're right. But I don't know. I'm using a stock based rom, Stocklite V6, and its honestly the best rom I've ever used on my Ace ever since I bought it. Battery's up to 12hrs on 3G and its really fast. Don't know if tj_droid customized anything else on it but its pretty awesome.
Went back from my quest of looking for the perfect CM rom. Tried many, all failed. Battery sucked and always ran into performance issues later on. Flashed this one, a little UOT kitchen mod here and there and its perfect. I finally have my phone the way I want it to

To be frank i wanted to buy Wildfire or wildfire s as they were also in my list but at that moment i stuck with ACE. Now this one became Legacy wildfire is still in main... I just saw some ROM because my friend owns a wildfire.. Every ROM s unique and they completely different.. But here ppl take the base as CM..
@ superace I completely agree that STOCK ROCKS.. But i m addicted to CM.. But some ppl really tried out giving out very gud ROMs. But some with fancy name and claim their battery s good. We waste our time to try them out and find out- U KEEP THE LION IN JUNGLE OR IN CITY it just keeps hunting so is the battery... So i thought of buying desire S a month back not because this phone s bad it lacks custom ROM.

A request to all ROM modifiers
pls dont add the tag as "rom" bcoz it was not built from scratch its just themed and some tweaks here and thr. So better add "tweaked rom" or "themed rom" in front of it.. Wat u say guys??

rom should be themed if there are minor changes

and not ICS theme again

I dint edit it now But i told long back only.. To apply ur own theme.. Its like getting things here and there dumping it in one place!! Make slight changes in ur ROM atleast search other phones thread get something NEW.. Like some person gott the BEATS AUDIO.. Some one done with a 3D launcher.. Be unique i meant... Not a COPY CAT

But some makes roms with many moddings (xml.s smali) etc
Some want to let there phones look like one of other manufacturor

custom roms are meant for functionality -> new features not just speed and an ics thme -_-
i think all our teams - team adreno , team cooper, galaxyics + the new teams thunderbolt and coopergt engine should work together on a REAL custom rom
somethimg of the sort of miui , cyanogen , miui , aokp, ...something new ...somethimg awesome ... not just the lame old barebonez roms with tags of " best battery life " " fastest " blah...blah....i mean how much more battery can we possibly get....ace's battery sucks ....
yes u r right ..i shouldnt be saying all these as i dont npay the devs to do their work and i cant ask for these things....but this post is not from a member who has been on xda for a while and seen such posts getting bashed ...this is a view of the end user ...just the end user
i m looking forward to the 3dx lite and cyanogen xperience teams roms ...they look promising

Right now it seems like we have 3 types of roms, loads of bareboned stock, loads of themed CM and AOSP/AOKP, which is less common though. That's great! I believe spacecaker did say we should just come up with themes not whole roms altogether.
