[Q] No /efs folder even when using root explorer - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

I have honeycomb leedroid rom on a T-Mobile Htc Flyer. I've installed root explorer but cannot find the /efs folder. Any suggestions to find it?
It seems that /efs is only on Samsung. Nevermind. Getting phone and data working on a T-mobile branded flyer is tough.

[Q] need help efs nv_data.bin not found samsung vibrant

hello i need help i´ve been trying to unblock my samsung vibrant but i cant find efs folder or nv_data.bin. what can i do. I don´t have a copy of this files i´m desesperate please help
Do you have root access and root explorer?
on the market look up galaxy S unlock. Not All vibrants had the nv_data file or whatever it is that allowed them to be unlocked in that way If I remember correctly. Galaxy S unlock has a generic unlock method for the Vibrants affected by this. I used it, it seemed to work. dunno, since I haven't tested it on any other SIM cards, but it did backup /efs to the SD card and create the files as it said it would.
Its worth a shot, and comes with a way to revert back if issues occur. Be sure to follow instructions, Don't delete the files it creates on the SD until you test everything out and make sure you have no issues. This way you can revert back using the backup.
same here
I try to get an unlock code using generate unlock window but after I ran it, it show error unable to find file <nv_data.bin>
Do I have to root it first b4 i can unlock it? please help.
thank you
Hello I seem to have the same issue...
I have rooted the phone, I have a file manager to browse my in-phone folders..
I went in the efs folder it says: "the folder is empty or have been banned. not the retrieved information"
I have also been trying to unlock the phone.. (i9000) I have tried all the ways that are on the xda developers and have finally tried to do it the manual way...
But I am stuck at transferring the nv_data.bin file...
Please help out!

Im having the same issue. Been looking for an answer for hours and no luck. Im dying to use this phone...

Hello, The reason that you can not find the folder EFS it is because it is hidden. You can install Android Terminal Emulator from market
And then run it and write the command to see all the folder
ls -l
You will see the EFS folder.
Please let me know if it works for you
samsung advance sin imei ni nv_data.bin

[Q] How do you remove boot audio?

I recently installed Charmeleon Rom v5.0.0 and I want to get rid of the android_audio.mp3 (boot animation audio).
When I try to delete the file with Root Explorer it says Failed to delete. When I try to delete the file with Terminal Emulator it gives me a access denied error.
I've been trying to find the answer through google for over an hour. It sounds like some Root Explorers you need to Mount R/W to have access to delete/rename files. This sounds like what I need but so far I can't find any Root Explorer apps that mention R/W.
Any ideas?

Did you remount the filesystem to r/w in root explorer before deleting the file?

Thats my issue. I dont know how to mount the /system to be rw.
I guess I'm on the right track but mount /system rw didn't seem to be the correct syntax.
check in tweaks
I used free ver of Rom tool box .there's a one called root browser in that ..

I was able to delete the file with Root Browser within Rom Toolbox Lite.
I think it's odd that the Root Browser included with Rom Toolbox Lite includes extra options that you don't have when you just download Root Browser by itself. Using the version included in Rom Toolbox Lite I updated the folder permissions to include write access then I was able to delete the file.
Thanks!

[SOLVED] Can't mount /efs error - Use SGII_Repair from market to fix

OK guys, I'm having a annoying problem and need helps.
My tab is P7500 64GB. I had been on AOKP build 38 for quite a long time without any big problem. I tried to flash build 40 recently and my tab was totally messed up. It FC every 30 sec and I decided to return back to HC 3.2 stock.
I went to Team Overcome site and download restock pack, including this "android_fastboot_emmc_full_p4_16G_32G.pit" and flash with stock md5 in Odin. Problem happened here!!! As mentioned on Team Overcome site, just ignore the error appear after Odin finished and continue to the ROM.
1st, after first boot, there is a screen asking for password. I found solution is to go to CWM and wipe data & cache. Everything was ok, except it keep saying "can't mount /efs", and the ROM is crazily sluggish. After that, no matter how I tried different ROMs, from HC to ICS, the ROM is still lag like hell.
Only temporary solution I found is to manually set permission /efs folder to rw-rw-rw after every boot to get the ROM back to it speed.
------------------
OK, in short, I'm deeply f*cked. Just realized that my tab can not realize sim card at all.
Please look at 2nd post and help for backup of /efs.
------------------
Then, f*ck all the sh*t. Just downloaded SGII_Repair from market, fix from it. 2 steps & sh*t gone away. More than happy.

FIXED....
here's how.
as you may see in the post i stopped in the step of trying to format \efs partation.
but instead.
I went to my friend phone and make this command
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 of=/sdcard/ilostit.dd
this backup the mmcblk0p1 which is \efs to a file.
then move it to my phone \sdcard
and did this commands.
Code:
umount /efs "unmount /efs
dd if=/sdcard/ilostit.dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 "relfash mmcblk0p1 with the backup.
reboot
this reflash mmcblk0p1 block with the backup,
then copy my \efs backup to \efs.
and no more IO error..
and violaa...
my IMIE is back and the Signal is OK.

Which means, some one please back up your P7500 /efs folder and upload here so that I can revive mine. Thanks a lot!
I need this too! My efs is also gone

This can't be done...unfortunately efs contains the imei, so if someone gives their /efs backup to you, you will end up with the same imei. Imo it is highly unlikely that someone is willing to give you his/her imei.

Thansk Panos_dm, but I stuck at this step:
5) go to your backed up EFS folder on your sdcard, copy the "imei" folder to the EFS folder at the root of your phone, then again go to the backed up EFS folder at yout sdcard and copy the " .nv_data " file to your EFS folder at the root of your phone using root explorer, NOTE: the dot in first of nv_data is not a mistake, copy the ".nv_data" file.
No .nv_data file at all! Can you share?
I'm sorry but as I stated earlier I can't risk the contents of my /efs folder. Maybe you could flash a stock rom, go to Samsung and claim that it stopped working...maybe they'll buy it!

Ok, may be I'm not that screwed as I thought. I used EFS Pro latest version and some how fixed the efs problem. My tab realized sim card, base band appeared and everything seems fine. However, just TEMPORARY.
Every time I reboot, /efs folder screw again until I fix it by EFS Pro. Any permanent solution guys?

Need help getting to /system on GS3

I am trying to change the boot logo's from the AT&T ones to the stock ones from the international version and I can't see the /system folder. I have it mounted but I still can't find it in Windows explorer or Droid Explorer

Can't access my files after flashing any rom

Hello everyone
I'm currently using HTC One from T-Mobile
I have unlocked its bootloader via one tool kit and rooted my mobile and turned it S-off
Untill then everything was just fine when I used the stock rooted Rom, but whenever I try to flash another rom ( I tried Revolution HD 12, and viper 1) I faced a problem that I can't access my files. When I try to look up in es explorer I can't find any of my data, thou that the storage is almost full, and when I enter the recovery mood I can find my all backups which dose not appear by computer or by es explorer.
Any solutions for this mates? How can I access my files after flashing a new Rom?

Common issue when moving from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2
Android enabled multi-user support so the symlinks to storage have been altered. It's now at /data/media/0.
I just had to reformat sd and start over.
You can grab your old files from /data/media/legacy with adb.
From a browser search you'll find a lot of threads on xda about this. I'm by no means an expert.
