Not really sure why ICS has used such bold colours, lots of blue and yellow, and while some will like it, it's not very neutral. Seems a bit daft to me, surely grey on black would suit more people or at least be less specific in colour. Would rooting allow me to change these basic system colours, as themes on adw ex and tw don't seem to affect this. Also I don't really want to wander too far from stock ICS, just really have custom colours.
Massive appologies if this has already been asked, but I did do a search and found no answers. Also thanks in advance for anyone shedding any light on this subject.

but anyway i find the ics design to be very smooth and elegant..
Was just hoping someone could recommend an as close to stock rom that had neutral colours or a tool for customizing the colours, seems not.

So I'm brainstorming what to do with a theme I am creating, it will have Leedroid tweaks, and mainly black and white theme and some accents, debating red, blue, green, purple maybe pink. I think it would be really neat to have a B&W theme with either ICS blue highlights or red highlights.
Mostly everything would be B&W, and small things like the clock, some buttons, overscroll glow, etc. would be red or blue.
I would use it if it were a well done theme, which I expect from you.

I know this is probably overdone but I am quite fond of the stock ics icons, if anyone has ideas go ahead and throw them out there since I know ics is overdone alot lol

Sir the simpler the better, I hate hate flamboyant icons for quick settings, this theme would be awesome with just minimalistic icons in the Grey and red/blue accents

i really like the color and layout of ICS. i am a fan of the baby blue colors in the status bar and such. as far as other "theming" i am a huge fan of the transitions found in virus' eternity ROMs... like in 1.4.2
i would keep the quick settings pretty simple if it were my decision, but hey man if you really wanna get in it, why not just make it completely stock and make theme flashables? or go with one theme and make a stock flashable and other theme to go along with it.

Galaxy cream sandwich and cobalt are very nice

download whatever you like. And simply install the apk.. then go into SETTINGS>THEMES and they show up there. I would download a few of them and see what suits your taste. You can uninstall the theme at the same location by simply long pressing the theme there.
Sometimes it says theres a error in installing. Juat install anyways.. it works
If when trying to switch themes and it says the theme is compiled wrong error. Switch to system theme.. reboot.. then apply the theme.. its a work around

No prob...which ones do you you like the most? I'm really liking the mixertheme by mrDsl.. alot of themers don't include icons for the phone contacts he includes them.. which look nice during calls..
Tried out SSD and the motomixer. Something about stock keeps bringing me back though. I guess the cleanliness. CM9 looks really good all on its own I think, especially at 240 dpi. The aokp looked good too, could never get the mms to download though. I'll probably continue checking back to see what new you have come across though.

If you like the clean look of cm9.. try that mixer ics one.. it seems to add the blue icons to settings icons and color most of them instead of the plain grey ones.. it enhances the stock look and feel and makes it look how ics should be...worth a shot....or are you staying on another rom?
Anyone know of themes out there for aosp/aokp that are on the same level as the cobalt series of themes? Been using those for a long time now but just want to mix it up a little.

Maybe the Holo CM9 themes. They probably aren't as heavy but you should give it a look.
the holo series found here is really good, but the Rogue CM Red skin makes more things red if that's what you want

lol i guess it doesnt make sense. whats the point of a theme if it doesnt change things to a certain theme? better start with what you want themed? colors? notification or status bar? if you want just some changes, youll probably have to search for specific mods that only theme specific things.

This is a theme called vivid it's .99 in play store but I love it been using it since cm9 on inc2. The quick settings panels are also themed although I don't know how to screen shot them :-/

You already nailed it with the Masque for me. Anything red and rocks harder than a metal song is exactly what I want on this device.
Only other type of request I'd make is to do a Beats/HTC logo variant on the graphics with basic red/white menus to give a "stock+" style to choose from for this particular phone.

good idea...still doing some other work but when im done ill start that one...TheWhiteTiger gave me a brilliant idea for a black and dark grey theme earlier and just about done with image work...a little coding afterwards and its done

I was thinking for metallica do an album cover based style...like a ride the lightning theme....volbeat would be the blueish grey theme...slayer would be an obvious red...pantera the typical texas cowoy from hell / rebel look....Death....idk yet...that band is pretty out there theme wise
Now the only problem becomes which one to use. Need a random twrp theme pool. Love all of the ideas. If your taking requests, I throw one in for a Parkway drive theme. If not, no biggie, there will be plenty of awesome options already
