This is probably a fake.
I got this email.
Thank you for using Personal Space as the way for sharing your photos and videos privately with your family and friends.
We're very excited to announce that as part of a service update, from April 25, 2012, Personal Space will be re-named PlayMemories Online and will only be accessible through the Sony Entertainment Network. As part of this change, you will be given 5 GB of storage space.
Your current photos and videos in Personal Space will be made available through PlayMemories Online automatically.
PlayMemories Online uses the same login credentials as Sony Entertainment Network so you will need to use your Sony Entertainment Network Sign-in ID and Password to access your PlayMemories Online account.
*The Personal Space service will be temporarily unavailable prior to launch of PlayMemories Online.

If you have any questions, please call 1-877-428-5608 to speak with a customer support representative (hours: Monday - Friday, 9am to 10pm ET).
they are speaking of "service update", not of sony tablet s software update, they are just launching a new service..
It's not a fake. Got the mail too and thought the same to pat it but I doesn't.
Yes, the talk not about the ICS update but it's a sign for a relaunch with ICS I think too.
Alright alright hang on guys its not a fake I swear. I'll post a copy in a second in not at home yet. Gimme like 3 minutes

Does anyone have news on when we are getting this update?
Now that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is going on sale officially in NYC on June 8 WITH 3.1, I hope it is soon!
I just emailed the Samsung dev email from the Google I/O Device page. Hopefully I receive a meaningful response.

10.1 I/o Edition
Guys ...I cant install adobe flash on my tablet and some of the apps from market are not visible and or wont install.. any ideas ?
I guess nobody got any luck in response. I say all that receive there Limited Edition 10.1 email Samsung until they put a press release or reply to someone. This is so unprofessional on there behalf.
I did and will everyday til i get something,,,,logic would dictate there is not going ot be an update for 3.1 since all the tabs coming out have it so hopefully they do something or it will be avail to load once the tabs come out

Not compatible with tablets.
I have the galaxy tab 10.1V and had no issue with my flash installation, so not sure why you say it isnt compatible with tablets
I got an e-mail from Samsung stating they have no idea when will the google IO limited edition tab will get an OTA update. Will post the e-mail here shortyl.

Flasg IS compatible with tablets
I think happilyaccosted was more referring to why some apps don't show up in the market on a tablet when he said "not compatible with tablets" and not that Flash wasn't compatible.

Which I agree.. Just don't understand as to why these where handed out to developers when its design to be tested for 3.1.... Especially when there is no option for United States OTA.

I think part of the reason it was handed out (besides publicity for Samsung) was to get some developers a real 3.X device to do any development on, and write some app, any app. Google needs Honeycomb apps up on the market, bad. At that point not having 3.1 yet isn't that big a deal. The Honeycomb emulator is a pile of suck and Google admitted as much at the conference, so this is a way to get people making stuff.
And if they can't directly OTA these things up to 3.1 from the gimped version of 3.0 that's on them right now, that doesn't seem like that big a deal. Google/Samsung can always email people instructions to go flash a zip; if you got on a plane to SF to go to an Android developer conference then an "adb push" and reboot should be a piece of cake for you

no on Netflix and the future of it on this tablet is quite grim too.
there's no native Facebook app optimized for tablets just yet (how silly is that), only the phone version which is not available for this device. people tend to like this as a substitute for now:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.locomolabs.facebook
or just use the browser.
i think Words With Friends is not tablet optimized either and thus not available.

There isn't even an iPad app for Facebook yet.
I use WWF on my Tab without issue
I use the Facebook app from my phone. Actually, it automatically downloaded and installed when I first logged into the tablet. It synced all my apps, even the ones that don't show up in a market search.
I read somewhwre, I believe it was the words for friends change log, that they were working on a tablet optimized version. Could be wrong though.

Friendcaster isn't free but it works great. FriendMe should have a new version out next week that's more usable. And Facebook iPad is coming out soon... so maybe HC next?
Friendcaster sucks IMO. Only thing it has is the feed. You're better off using the actual website. FriendMe is a little better but its still missing some of the core features.

Yes they did during the last update. They said they are working on a Honeycomb version. The phone version does work, but it cuts off the bottoms of the letters in your tray. You can't tell F's from E's for example. Also when you use a blank tile the letter chooser is not displayed properly.
That said, it does work.
I would assume the new UI will be more like the Ipad's.
Andy
I have WWF on my phone, and it auto downloaded to my tab when I opened the market for the first time.
Suppose I have to wait since this is my first Android anything
You can sideload it: Download it here
Completely legit, use the quick download button. Install Astro before you download it, and use the app installer.
http://www.getjar.com/mobile/48090/...6j608cinkp1p03r4&c=l2guqa0e2bj1jx0713&lang=en
I've got WWF on my tab. Auto downloaded first time. It blows on the tab atm. The bottom bar covers like 20% of the letters. for some you have to drag them up to see what they are. They need a tab version badly.
Here is a great facebook app https://market.android.com/details?id=com.locomolabs.facebook&feature=search_result

Just got my to.1 yesterday, I was in love with it until I found out these three apps were not available, looks like I will be returning it in the next few days, =( pretty bummed, I guess I should have researched this prior to purchasing, but they seemed like such basic app's that it never crossed my mind that they wouldn't be available
I have been an android guy for a long time ( had a g1, and now have a g2 ) and this may be what pushes me over to the Ios darkside
just spoke to a Netflix rep. to summarize, he said that they are very aware that tons of people are looking for a Honeycomb app, and that they have offered the major manufacturers (Samsung, HTC, Motorola..) the necessary things to integrate Netflix, and that it's up to the manufacturers to decide if they would like to implement the DRM needed to run Netflix. but since some of these manufacturers, Samsung for example, are planning on a media hub.. the Netflix rep said that Samsung might see it as competition to their own offerings. so we should all contact both Samsung and Netflix to let them know how badly we want Netlifx.

So I just finished chatting with Samsung and this is what they had to say....
Dave: Hi, thanks for reaching out to Samsung tech support. How can I help you today?
Andre: I recently purchased your new galaxy 10.1 and found out that there is no Netflix app compatible with it. why is that?
Dave: Please allow me to go through the inquiry.
Andre: k
Dave: Let me explain.
Dave: Netflix works on Silver lite to stream movies. The Samsung Tab doesn't support this Silver lite. However, Samsung and Microsoft are working to release a upgrade so that Tab will support Silver lite and then you can stream from Netflix.
Andre: how soon can we expect this?
Dave: I'm sorry; this information will be released only after releasing the appropriate upgrade for the Tab and I do not want to provide you with any false information.
Andre: are we talking weeks, months, years?
Andre: this is a big reason i purchased the tablet
Dave: I can understand your concern. I recommend you contact our phone support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864); they are available 24/7. I'm sure they'll assist you further in this regard.
Andre: k... thanks

Got the cable with mine, and I got2 smarttags with mine. Not particularly useful at the moment, but i'll keep them as the need for them may arise in the future.
Sent from my Xperia S via transwarp beacon.
Got my simfree, i assumed from seeing unboxing videos before the official release that we would get at least 2 in the box... Fair enough but why dont sony release the accessories at the same time as the phones?
Bought mine in Malaysia and got bundled Livesound headphones, sony branded car charger, HDMI cable & 2 NFC tags.
Xiaomi Security issues. Xiaomi firmware has multiple backdoors So I've basically got myself in this sh*t because lack of care.. Until it pop'd and hit the highlights.
And now straight to the point. It doesn't f*ckin matters if you had a fw or not. As the backdoors are embedded in ROOT system processes.
And those where obviously white-listed as i didn't think of a nasty Chinese guy sitting in it calling back home. My friend who got the same phone found the article as i was having my vacation for a bit, so when i found out i did a bit a research of course on my device. After finding all this i e-mail'd him it and he posted it on the Xiaomi European forums. Guess what happened, it got deleted. So they know damn good what they're doing.

dude that is sooo old cheese already. you really seem to have a personal problem with xiaomi?
go read a bit:
http://www.cnet.com/news/xiaomi-makes-cloud-messaging-opt-in-amid-privacy-concerns/
http://www.androidcentral.com/hugo-barra-responds-xiaomi-privacy-concerns
Xiaomi has added encryption to the communication in an updated firmware, and the cloud service is now opt-in.
while i will say that unencrypted transfer is uncool, most of the stuff transferred (or actually all) has to do with their cloud service.
Apple & Google are doing the same stuff, i bet you Samsung does also.
so what is the big deal here? that it was not encrypted? or that it sends something in the first place?

Xiaomi has added encryption to the communication in an updated firmware, and the cloud service is now opt-in.
while i will say that unencrypted transfer is uncool, most of the stuff transferred (or actually all) has to do with their cloud service.
Apple & Google are doing the same stuff, i bet you Samsung does also.
so what is the big deal here? that it was not encrypted? or that it sends something in the first place?

First off do I have issues with them? Sure most here do but that is a whole other matter.
This was brought to attention by another user. Had you read the post you would have known that.
The fact that they record your bank account info is cause for further investigation.
I just posted it here for users to know and look into. In the end it doesn't matter to me as Ill never use their device or OS.
Ok I get it. No discussion will come of this. Apple is doing the same and that's all right since they are 'mericans. Totally cool.

No it's not. If we were and iOS forum. Then we would be calling them out as well.
Same issue, blocked me in MiUi forum!

I had noticed the same security issues and data leaks by Xiaomi device (note is not just MiUi but whole system) and showed them proofs, even wrote to Hugo but just after seeing my proofs they blocked me in their forum. I do use MI3 but miss the resources they have in forum. Anyway, I am just using the device without DATA or firewall app if need DATA. Hope they had played fairly with users.
Problem is deeper than this. The users instantly start screaming any one who says this mobile has security leaks (e.g me) ad asks for proofs, once I post the proofs they dont accept it and raise as whole but they get their own way to download resources from MiUi forum. I am alone but I wont surrender.
For sure they'll upload ur info. For purpose.

I don't think the phone is released in Europe yet? So if you have problem with the software, flash with your own OS build or use another phone. The government tried to push everyone using true identity in case there is any cyber crime happens. Plus, did CIA,NSA or any government agency tell you when they search through your personal data? I doubt.

What? Brother I am from India. To clear my situation more My banker sends me a highly secured one time password through message each time I try to access their online services. Now this MI3 is leaking (have proofs) and redirecting SMS (with one access notification which is not clear enough) its a security breach and case of international cyber crime. But in India, politicians has nothing to do with such issues, officers have "more important" things to do and Banker said me to change my mobile. So such is the case when you are in not developed country. Here even if some gets killed then police comes after all has been settled down let alone a security breach. It just and just a very "minor" or not an issue at all.

You know once you use a public service ,there is no privacy right? People can spy on you using your cellphone, not even a smart one and listend to whatever youare talking about next to your phone even it's off as long as the battery is not taken off. What does this mean to your bank's highly secured one off password for your online banking?
Just use another one if you are not happen with it. E.g. iPhone which slightly record your real time geo information since iOS7 update without telling the users and even theIR staff don't know anything about it.

Have your heard of "boiling water and frog's" story? I already said we dont raise our voice against such crimes adjust ourselves saying "ohh very minor", "doesnt affect me much" or "others do it too". Just show me that Apple's product steals your SMS and I will agree with you, if you cant then either raise your voice with me or just get boiled like a frog in adjusting.
This is a technology forum, politics problem is not interested here I guess. Surely, sending sensitive data back to the server initially was suspicious, but the security issue has been patched,if you have a lot of security concern, don't use a smart phone.

I use a Mi3 in India
Well if you're online chunks of your data is always going places you don't know. AFAIK, India too has a PRISM like setup and your calls, call logs & SMS are stored. No idea how much data is shared by companies. Seems like people believe that only in US & Europe you're data is used without your knowledge.
The US based companies came public on data collection thanks to Mr.Snowden only.
Last week a US court ordered Microsoft to disclose data in their servers in Europe.
If you're concerned about privacy don't use smartphones. Or don't use a phone at all. Safest way keep your privates stuff private. Don't save those nude pics on phone or cloud or anything connected. Use long complex passwords, encrypt.

Hey,if you have problem, don't use it. Not posting any xiaomi product forums, I guess you don't own all the models you posted in the forum to.
I believe people come to here are not idiot. You mentioned the OS has issue you have concerns is enough, people make their own judgement and decisions.

Been a national news for us android lovers here in Indonesia. Luckily enough, i never bought their products (quite popular here). OP, you sounds like you're really against Xiaomi, though. You ever been in something with them?
Xiaomi is an arrogant company. Until now they have not released the kernel for mi3 despite of Barra's commitment. All their forum threads so stupid like "give ideas and win bunny" "give suggestions and win a fcking phone". MIUI will never ever ever get stable. It follows iOS design principles. When I gave a negative feedback, I was banned from miui forum. Freakingly selfish mindset stupid copycat company.

Nope because the Hardware are totally different (no Bosch sensor hub in the TS1) but the Source Code of the TS+ has been released to XDA.

Any word on the true smart +? Delivery successful? Any comments on performance, UI, size, differences between ts+, ts-i and original ts?
Thanks.
where can I get source code for ts+ or maybe someone has link to it's firmware...
Thanks.
Only found this: https://plus.google.com/+LaurentLePen/posts/aVjTKcBjKa5
Looks like it is an full ALPS environment, maybe it is possible to port it to the old ts?

Omate saying they released it to/on XDA is like me ordering delivery and claiming I "made" dinner.

I'm not him, but I ordered my ts+ on November 30th, and was told that it would go out in the mail by the end of last week, and that a tracking number would be given to me. It is one week later, and I have not received the tracking, nor the watch. I emailed the omate support address, and have not received a reply.
Received a TS+ a few hours ago.
Pretty useless without the ability to access the Play Store though.
However, Laurent LePen said they're planning to release an update next week to fix it.
I was able to install Google search and google now launcher, but google play store won't work without "google play services" and I haven't found a version of that .apk that will not keep crashing on the Truesmart+
Since google play services keeps crashing, the play store stays on a "Checking Info" screen that keeps spinning and spinning...
got my plus with no instructions. Sent email, reply "no instructions come to this forum". Not a clue on how to load programs, get it to receive notifications even though it says connected. Not much fun with my new toy. Not planning to use a sim, just link to my android.
The load cradle does not fit to the watch.... so it does not charge!

Thx
Maybe this helps... https://twitter.com/omateofficial/status/679964505531617282
I have the source. Once the holidays are over I'll spend some time unpacking it and pushing it to my repo. Get it while you can. Last time I was hit with a DCMA for uploading the KK source.

That is not true, Omate did share the source code with Kunosan on G+ on Nov 20th so I invite you to double check.
As for the "No one should" well... your post engages yourself and we hope to serve you in the future
kuronosan is not XDA, so "released to xda" is still not accurate. If Omate had released to xda then there would be a post where Omate either linked to a GIT, torrent, or zip of the source. So the "released to xda" claim is not accurate and a bit self serving.

The TS+ is a standalone smartwatch connected to the telecom network or to Wi-Fi.
You can easily install Android apps (APK file) for example: open the browser of your TS+ and go to http://m.apps.store.aptoide.com/
Otherwise if you already have some APK file in your laptop, you can copy / paste them into your TS+ and install them.
First go to settings / storage / click on the USB computer connection then connect it to your laptop via the Ocharger and paste the file in your progam file, then install the APK and the app will be in your TS+
