HTC ONES to be released next week in Europe. Now they can release them in the US then deploy the ics OTA after market deployment. Corporate pigs!!!!

Yea, the release of this phone, or any phone, has nothing to do with releasing ICS for the 3d.
Let's be realistic folks its marketing stunt.

They already have a cdma version of the one scaled down for ATT and other carriers. Once they release the one in cdma carriers they can update software for other HTC devices. Why would HTC update there older phones before a new device is deployed? Dumb move if I were in the marketing department of HTC.

Well, to throw a stick in your spokes, the EVO 3D is getting ICS, but only Sense 3.6, not 4.0. So really, it wouldn't matter if they released it before the One X. Especially since they've already released the update for the GSM version of the Sensation. It's a new experience.

Got mail from HTC
With regards to your enquiry, kindly note that HTC has been working hard to get its Ice Cream Sandwich updates ready, and we're excited to announce that our first round of ICS upgrades will roll out by the end of March for the HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation 4G and HTC Sensation XE, followed soon after by the HTC Sensation XL. In addition, we can confirm Ice Cream Sandwich will be coming later this year to the HTC Rezound, HTC Vivid, HTC Amaze 4G, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G, HTC Incredible S, HTC Desire S and HTC Desire HD.
Unfortunately we cannot yet confirm the date of the release. You can check on our website or our Facebook pages about the news regarding the ICS update in the upcoming weeks.

Ok, but that said "Later This Year" for the HTC Vivid, and they got the official release before the US Sensation (unless the Sensation on T-Mo has it already). So, they're just not shedding details right now, that's all.
Well, I want sense based ROM.
This is for me the only reason to go with HTC.

EDIT: On 2nd thought, you beat me by two minutes. I got the proper section, though.
Awesome, it will be out right after the phone is discontinued and about a week after Jelly Bean is released.
How hard is it really, to just have a decent upgrade schedule? I mean, ICS came out when, in October? It was at least 6 months ago. How long does it take to put it on a damned phone?
Assholes. Plain and simple. That's HTC's schedule by the way... Who knows how long it will take VZW to load it down with bloat and actually push it out the door.
September?
JB is for tablets only. At least that's what they were saying.

Yes, and by the time they release this and people run it for a day or two, we will be seeing threads about how disappointing it is and why didn't we get sense 4 and I'm going back to my leaked custom and blah blah blah...LOL! Just wanted to summarize future events for you all.

This phone got way more love than the Droid Charge. It had GB leaks and finally a damned GB OTA that actually fixed some stuff, but VZW left us in the dust and won't be bringing ICS. The Charge is basically EOL- no ICS, no AOSP. There is an alpha ICS build, but has no working RIL.
Sadly, it seems 4G phones are less likely to get AOSP with the added complication of the RIL. 4G, AOSP, ICS, we all want too much, lol.

Hi everybody!
I have a question for you, I have an HTC Inspire 3d from Telcel in Mexico and I wanna update to Android 4.0 ICS but I don't find wich Rom must I install because there are only roms for HTC Evo 3D, will this Evo 3d roms work on my Inspire 3D? I understand that, but we don't even have ICS source for cdma, and we are supposed to get JB? thats more along the lines of what I meant. Either way, I will probably be running a copy of it before sprint even thinks about supporting it. Love the dev's around here!
Moral of the story ...don't post without proof
I don't think HTC will upgrade anything earlier than the one range because essentially they will have to develop two types of ROMs ...for the one series with imagesense and the rest of the range without image sense capabilities.
But you never know, shout enough and maybe they'll listen

I've noticed that the LTE hasn't been getting too much love compare to what the og evo got when it first came out, but it is still a relatively new phone and the first source dropped not too long ago. But personally, there isn't much I don't have with the rooted stock rom right now. I have EOS JB on my Xoom and other than Google Now, not really missing much based on my usage style.

the reason why it hasn't been announced is that sprint has partner shop with htc as far as updates goes same reason why the sgsIII received like three updates before we got our first one even tho the evo was put before
Honestly, I don't care. I have a Nexus 7 and it isn't super buttery smooth compared to ICS like the the tech sites are making it out to be. It feels the same to me. Though I feel ICS is as smooth as it gets most of the time anyway except for immediately after unlocking the phone when it has been asleep for awhile. It would be nice to be on the current OS but I don't feel like ICS is a major step back. The notifications of Android 4.1 are nice though.
If Sprint holds true to its past with upgrades we will see it shortly after the next EVO device is launched.
You guys honestly complain so much. What's wrong with the way the phone performs now? Chill out and enough questions about jelly bean. It will come when it comes. This phone is a flagship HTC one X phone for sprint...do you honestly believe we won't get the next one or two (possibly 3) iterations of android?

... it took less than 2 months for the original EVO 4G to updated to Froyo... I'd say that is a better example of Sprint's record with updating a new device, than comparing it to updating devices that are fairly old (the EVO 4G was 6 months old when Gingerbread came out, and was updated about 6 months after that).
They said the One XL will get it, so we can count on the devs to then get it to us from there. No worries.

I'd rather be stuck on ICS forever than have my favorite apps not work properly with JB.
Yes i know its "almost the same" but almost doesn't mean it is. I tried apex on a JB build and it wouldn't even start, so either that build is missing something or its not as almost as everyone makes it out to be.

LTE owners should view this as if they were installing a cumulative Windows Update patch, like SP1, which will fix things... And break things... Such as backwards compatibility with apps.
However, with that being said, I'll be flashing Jelly Bean the same second it is released. CM10 AOSP, where are you?
