so i updated my phone from pc companion to official sony ics then rooted it by using DOOMLORD rooting kit for xperia 2011 ics . i have a locked bootloader.
I want to instal cm 7.2 how can i do so ???
no u cant as cm7 has its own kernel which cant be flashed with locked bootloader u have to unlock ur bootloader for it
okk i unlocked my bootloader ofiicially now what??

Hi peepz, I just got a Xperia neo v ... I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone to get su access as I wanted to remove some unwanted apps to free up memory . . I heard that Xperia neo v will soon get d ICS update... now my querry is can my phone be updated to ICS ? :confusedt: (I have not flashed my phone wit a custom Rom yet )

Well form my knowledge you cant do is officially threw the update service as you have unlocked your bootloader but once ics is out I bet you could flash one of the ics stock roms which are publish on XDA

For official updates, you need LOCKED bootloader.
Else your phone will be DEAD when you instal official update.
You need to find a way to RELOCK

hi have neo v .42 firmware i have rooted it and abt to install CWM but i would like to knw that weather i can install some tweak script lke v6 charger or do i need to unlock my bootloader
I think u must have got unlocked bootloader.
v6 required just root + script manager (market)
CWM can be instaled without unlocked bootloader (se tweaker).
2 roms can be instaled (custom rom) with CWM on phone with locked BL..other required unlocked bootloader.
if u have unlocked bootloader, Inteks kernel would help u all
I have the st15i xperia mini with unlocked bootloader. I already tried some ROMs but they all had bugs so I installed the stock ROM again. But now the ICS update came from sony and I cant upgrade. It says that I have a changed version of the firmware. Is it maybe the bootloader that makes the problem or something else??!!

So, I have a Neo V with firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62 and the bootloader is unlocked. I want to install Cyanogenmod on the device later.
As of now, I'm not sure how to root and install CWM recovery from here. I'm really confused and I don't want to brick the phone.
How should i approach this?
