I found an accessory to place under the battery to boost the reception signal. http://www.cellularfactory.com/det.jsp?d=1316&c=612330
It claims to be a "passive device designed to capture stray radiation in the body of the cell phone and to re-radiate the signal to improve the phones reception"
I will buy this to try it. Any thoughts of other ways to boost the signal reception?
Thanks!!!

Those are widely known to be a scam, it's the equivilent of putting an apple sticker (incidentially my old iphone came with one) on it and saying it suddenly supports iOS.

[Q] Aerial/antenna for Mini Pro - CRC9 connection near speaker?

Hi everybody,
I'd like to boost 3g reception on my Mini Pro
I removed the little black sticker near the rear speaker:

And there was a little gold connector which looks a bit like a CRC9 connector (used by mobile broadband dongles, etc):
So what is it? I've noticed that there's some empty space between the battery and the battery cover (due to the curvature of the battery cover) so it would be nice to either fit a little aerial in there or even hook it up to an bigger, external aerial when the signal is really bad...

No idea

To me this seems slow, I never got involved in speed test. I am inside in an area with bad reception. The one at the bottom is before the speed adjustments from another post. The one on top is with the adjustments made. Does this blow chunks?

Well the good news is you made awesome gains by making some adjustments.
As for speeds, your now getting decent 3G speeds (or "4g HSPA" speeds). Obviously this isn't 4G LTE speeds, as those tend to be in 20's, but even that varies greatly by location and time of day.

[Q] ONEX+ Back Cover Connector (OFF-TOPIC)

I've been looking around the web at the various information avaiable for the OneX+ and in pictures of the back side of the device there are 5 dots which look like metal spots for charging maybe, or a dock or something. Can anyone confirm what those are for? The pin out for a micro USB end has 5 connections, could it be a USB connection for a dock?

I think all 'one' series phones have this except ours, which is obviously a little different than the others. They are dock connectors.

ZOPO ZP980 - No Service

Hi
I have this phone for almost two years now.
It worked good up until now, and I don't remember what happened, but the SIM cards don't work anymore, they're recognized, but phone indicates 'No Service'.
Obviously I can't make phone calls or connect to the internet via G3 mobile data.
Here's what the reception signal indicators look like:

Any ideas on how to fix this?
BTW, the phone was complaining about over heating once before it happen, not sure if it was right before that, and thus, can't tell you if it's related.
Any hacking to fix this? Maybe resetting SIM settings to factory default? Anything to check in the internals?

Redmi 3 sees EV-DO signal but can't connect to the internet with it

I use Smartfren (a CDMA provider in Indonesia that's transitioning to LTE). I wanted to use its LTE service with my Redmi 3, but I can't - http://en.miui.com/thread-253364-1-1.html (well that's a bit of a guess but the symptoms are exactly the same...)
I want to use that Micro SD slot, and with me not wanting to cut up my SIM card that leaves me with CDMA+EV-DO (at least until I get my bootloader unlocked and flash CM in the hope of seeing the problem solved).
My phone sees the 3G signal, but seems to never be able to connect to the Internet with it. Any ideas?
