I've searched threads and can only find an unroot guide for the AT&T version. Anyone know how to unroot the Rogers version?
Thanks in advance.
Unroot? Why would u want to do that? . Same rules apply, just Odin stock rogers, flash cwm, flash counter reset, flash stock recovery
So I can replace the unit.
I didn't know there was a way to do this without tripping the flash counter on the Recovery restore.
Any links to a tutorial or thread on how to do this?

So do the following in exact order.
1.) Odin back stock
2.) Odin custom cwm recovery (doesn't matter which one)
3.) Flash this through cwm:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24145452
4.) Use Odin and flash stock recovery ONLY, if u flash anything else counter will trip again.
Thus brief guide will not only unroot, but also serve to restore phone to complete original state should u need to warranty it or such the like
Or if u are complete stock only rooted, use this guide:
Get USB drivers and install from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24539068
Reboot computer
Enable USB debugging under settings on phone
Download adb from this post:
http://depositfiles.com/files/n0dcxce3t
Its actually superuseroneclick, but when u unzip adb is inside
Connect USB cable to computer and one drivers are installed, open command prompt
Navigate to folder where u unzipped adb and run "adb shell"
Then type "rm /system/app/Superuser.apk"
Exit command prompt and reboot phone, successfully unrooted
Awesome. Thanks.
I will give this a try tonight.

Unfortunately, the stock Rogers Tar doesn't seem to be available. Anyone know how to access it?
Aside from not being able to find the stock rogers ROM...can you clarify step 2..."2.) Odin custom cwm recovery (doesn't matter which one)"?

Step 2 is basically doing this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584576
"http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1506330" This is actually not the rogers ROM... although it is labelled rogers, it is actually the telus rom. That is, the roms labelled rogers and telus are the same. I cant seem to find the Rogers ROm anywhere.
yeah, saw ur post in the stock odin thread. Sorry bud, its a waiting game now, i don't even own a note lol, im rockin a skyrocket.

You can also remove it using an app like RootExplorer. Just mount to R/W mode and wipe the files listed in the terminal command line code that you just posted.

You lost me there, searching with your Build Number will reveal multiple threads with step-by-step instructions to root/flash the phone.
I had the same firmware on my Hero when I got it, but I followed this walk-through:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4655885&postcount=1
Only part I had issues with was getting the RA-HERO recovery image flashed. I dragged it onto my sd card (not in a folder) and typed in this location on the FlashRec app:
/sdcard/Recovery-RA-HERO-v1.2.2.img
and then was able to hit "Flash Recovery Image". Then load a ROM on the SD card, turn phone off, and hold Home+Power to turn it back on in the recovery menu and then you can flash away.
I tried the post that you gave me, it still not working
when I try to wipe it, it said wipe aborted
when I try to install the rom, it said installation aborted

Well, that guide does work for a phone with that Build Number, I have done it, and srt4mn has also. Follow it step by step... And post where you have a problem
I tried that, when I flash the recovery image it said : flash FAILED: Could not run command....
but I download the recover image already, and put it at the root of the sdcard, and type
/sdcard/Recovery-RA-HERO-v1.2.2.img
I dunno which step go wrong.
Frist I download Fleashrec, recovery img, and the update.zip,
put them at the root of sdcard,
install Flashrec,
type /sdcard/Recovery-RA-HERO.v1.2.2.img
flash recovery, but it doesnt work><

Did you backup your original recovery image first via flashrec (the lower of the 2 buttons)?? May be you can try to flash it via ADB:
Put the recovery.img in sdk/tools
Then in the terminal type this:
adb shell reboot bootloader
fastboot boot recovery-RA-HERO-v1.2.3.img
adb shell mount /sdcard
adb push recovery-RA-HERO-v1.2.3.img /sdcard/recovery-RA-HERO-v1.2.img
adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-HERO-v1.2.3.img
adb shell reboot
Try this and see whether it helps.
Fastboot will not work this way...
I'm confused now, what is ADB???
any instruction???
thank you for helping><!!
Can any one help me on this??
on can I just add the android market and make it work on this version???
i have had problems with Rom manager not flashing recovery correct leaving me with no recovery. so i had to manually flash recovery following these steps exact. I have personally bricked 2 ERIS phones lucky me.The first i thoought it was just something i did, lucky i had another to replace it...(the second BRICK eris).
So here is a solution to keep from having a BRICK
USE Amon RA's Recovery PERIOD.
credit to northmendo @droidforums
1. download flash_image Here Updated Link 3/17/10
2. Open the terminal and copy and paste the following commands.
adb shell [hit enter]
su [hit enter]
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system [hit enter]
3. In a new terminal window (don't close the original one).
adb push flash_image /system/bin [hit enter]
exit [hit enter]
4. Now in the original terminal window
chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image [hit enter]
5. Now exit all termainl windows and reboot your phone.
6. Download
Amon_RA's recovery Here.
7. Mount your phones sd card and drop recovery-RA-eris-v1.6.2.img on to it and eject
your phone.
8. Open the Terminal and copy and paste the following commands with the phone connected
to your computer.
8. adb shell [hit enter]
9. su [hit enter]
10. flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-eris-v1.6.2.img
11. To get into recovery turn off you phone and hold the Volume Up + Power until it boots into recovery.
That's it.

try to flash it from rom manager,(under other recoveries) if Rom manager has worked for you with no problems. if it doesnt work follow instructions as listed in 1st post
I wouldn't use clockwork recovery, it messed up my installation to the point i couldn't flash any rom or restore any nand. When i would try to flash anything it would fail, It failed when i tried to use the root rom....After I tried flashing root rom i had a nice looking brick on my desk....(I even changed back to RA but Clockwork had messed up my phone so bad that RA didn't even work either....

Yeah, use Amon's. It does every job you need, and is 100% stable and reliable.

When you are doing this, are you in the correct directory? For example, my SDK is installed in /android , so first I would:
cd /android/tools
then
./adb shell
could someone help me with this. i really need to get the stock recovery image on my eris and im alittle noobie at this stuff. if any one could help id be sooooo happy
I'm not sure how to flash amons on a mac. I know for windows you put the recovery.img in the sdk tools folder, boot into fastboot and type
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
To get stock recovery (I assume you want your phone back to stock) then flash the official ruu. Will return your phone to 100% stock. You can find it on a sticky in the Eris general forums I believe.

There is no new version out; the first version (v1.6.2) is the only one that Amon_RA published.
IF there was a new version, you could flash it by using adb with the existing Amon_RA. You don't even need to push a version of "flash_image" to the phone, because it is already in /sbin in Amon_RA recovery. Just get the recovery image to your SD card, start an interactive shell (adb shell), and then
flash_image recovery /sdcard/<wherever-you-put-it>/recovery-RA-eris-v1.6.2.img
Yes, you can "flash a recovery partition by using the recovery" - because when you are interacting with it (the recovery boot), it lives entirely in a ramdisk.
The second easiest way is to have the engineering bootloader (1.49.2000 S-OFF) installed on your phone, and flash it with fastboot from the PC, as in
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-eris-v1.6.2.img
Note that neither of these two methods perform any integrity checks on the recovery image file that the normal "Flash .zip from sdcard" ROM installation method does. Therefore, it is imperative that someone using these methods is extremely diligent in cross-checking image MD5 signatures after it has been transferred to the SD card. Amon_RA also has the "md5sum" utility built into it's shell, BTW.
I mention this last point as a warning to newbs - they seem to routinely corrupt files when they transfer them to the SD card. (I suppose they are not using the "safely remove hardware" controls correctly, or they are getting truncated downloads).

Hi,
another leaked ICS rom from Huawei (leaked here, thx @ th.f from AndroidHilfe.de). Download mirror: http://84.23.79.243/downloads/

You need a working fastboot and adb to fully root the tablet with this. If you don't have it configured yet please search how to do it, there are lots of tutorials for that. Make sure you read them carfully, it's possible to totally screw your tablet if something goes wrong.
1) Boot into fastboot mode (hold vol- while booting the tablet) -> Screen says Fastboot bla bla...
2) fastboot flash boot B010SP03-rootboot.img
3) fastboot reboot
4) adb remount
5) adb push su /system/xbin/su
6) adb shell chmod 6755 /system/xbin/su
7) Install Superuser from Play Store
8) ???
9) Profit!
You will find the su binary in the download folder from my first link in a few minutes.

Thanks for the files and instructions.
Hey.. so still a newb Droid tablet owner.. I did the 06 and then 08 build update, simply by throwing the dLOAD file in a SD card and rebooting. I assume the same with this build and is it worth it to migrate from 08?
Thanks!

Just use the solution above from me. You don't need adb or fastboot!
I couldn't connect with adb either. So i went looking for another solution.

You know how to work with adb right? since you have unlocked your phone and flashed TWRP i think you have a little bit experience with adb.
first: download this zipfile:
https://wileyfox.wetransfer.com/downloads/aba80df646f39937021ef49438a629a320171121140241/aaa9dd
unzip it in the adb folder in your PC
make sure USB debugging is on in your phone and connect your phone to your PC
Optinal: open adb and type this command to make sure your device is properly connected:
adb devices
open adb and type this command:
adb reboot bootloader
now type these commands one after one (DO NOT REMOVE YOUR PHONE DURING THIS PROCESS):
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
and wait ..
once this process is done boot to the recovery (through typing this command: adb reboot recovery
or from the bootloader) and do a factory reset
Optional: Update your phone through the adb and relock the bootloader of your phone after this is done through the following command:
fastboot oem lock
Optional2: if you don't know how to update your phone through the adb, then just relock the bootloader and update it via the phone updater in the settings.
I hope this will help you

hi all,
i have a rooted vivo air lte with supersu.
i wanted to install magisk with the manager 8.0.3 (the boot.img from stock rom i extracted to downloads folder) by choosing direct install.
now the phone hangs on the bootlogo.
i can boot into recovery and choose "apply update from adb"
i installed fastboot and adb on the pc.
in the terminal command "adb devices" i see "devicenr sideload".
when i enter fastboot devices, there is no device shown.
im not sure if i have unlocked the bootloader when i rooted the phone a year ago..
so what do i have to do now to get it booting again?
thanks for the help!

Device is configured to get booted in "Sideload" mode what is a variant of ADB mode.
Try this
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot
to return to "Normal" mode.
no, this is what i have chosen in the recovery, otherwise i dont get any device listed in the terminal..
@schlunk
Once being in the Android Recovery Mode and you select option Reboot system the Android device simply gets restarted: the actually configured ADB mode herewith doesn't get changed / reset.
when i enter "adb reboot" in the terminal its "error closed"..
is ther e something i can sideload then to solve this, when the phone is waiting for the package to sideload?
thanks for helping!

Nope, I don't think there is.
Depends if that boot is same that was in your device. See the video
and the thread too: https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-31476.html
The boot should be the same, the firmware is exactly the same like in the phone regarding the label.
So with this linked method, flashing a single partition means, the boot.img can be flashed solo, without the need of flashing the whole firmware?
And when that doesnt work, i still could flash the whole firmware then as last resort?
That what I would do... Good luck!
