Okay so I'm going to start themeing a rom and was curious as to what color scheme you guys are interested in.
I was thinking maybe:
Reddish/Orange & Black
Any other idea please throw them out there as I'd like to hear them thanks.

I like that color scheme, however the phone seems to come blue/black and unless you theme like everything, you'll wind up clashing at some point.
I'll keep my eyes open and see what you come up with though.

At this point I miss the FroYo ROMs that were themed in GB green/black on the Captivate, like FireFly. Everything has been about mimicking ICS for so long.

Red with a hint of orange maybe? Or Bluish-purple? Purple white? I dunno just throwing suggestions around. I know whatever you come up with will be great; we're all tired of the blue.

I would love to see a leafy green (not neon or android green) theme. Call it treehugger!
On another tack, it would be cool to have a very white theme with dark accents.
And yeah, I'm sick to death of ICS blue!!!
I remember a theme for captivate (collective rom) that was copper/brown and black...loved that theme. It was sepia for atomic fusion1.5 by Ruger94, Mosaic VI theme was nice too.
I'd actually like to see something with green and blue.

I am trying to find some roms that cater to the women who have rooted and want a girly look to their phone. I flashed Droid Does Pink to my phone last night and love the girly feel to it..it is sense based and is overclocked. I also downloaded the hello kitty icon pink icon pack for use with the better cut app to further complete the girly look. I am loving the fact that there is so much pink on my phone..dialer, clock, battery widget, etc ALL PINK!!! Any ideas and suggestions are welcomed. Or if there is anyone reading this that makes custom roms please make some for the ladies. Thanks
Glad to hear you were able to customize to your taste. There aren't many (or any) "girly" roms because not too many girls like to get this technical with their phones. Good to see there is at least one though.

There may not be any technical women who want to root their phones but I'm also thinking along the lines of guys who root phones for their women. I found a purple rom but I think it was for the motorola droid.
I didn't think I'd want to root but once I found the easy root thread and jumped in head first its not as bad as I thought. Customizing is fun..now I'm trying to learn to partition my card and change my lock screen!

there is a theme (for eris phones) that's all pink. I think it's called "Droid Does Pink" or a variation of that.

I can empathize with this situation.
Rooted my gf's phone just to put it fully on Cricket - would be nice to have a Pink SenseUI ROM with the July 24 OTA.
You could also use a rom that can use metamorph for themes. I know there was at least one pink metamorph theme(pink ice or something like that) that was compatible with my cyanogen 2.1 rom. I think roms with metamorph give you a little more options in that regard. I actually made Droid Does Pink rom so that my wife would let me root her phone as their were no girly roms or themes at that time at all.

I'm also interested in the "purple" rom for my wife's Eris. Captiankrtek when do you think your rom will be out and will it be sense, or froyo?
Conap I love your work also! My wife loves the droiddoespink theme but it's a sense rom and she's been on kaosfroyo for a while and loves it. Any way you can make an update.zip for just the droiddoespink theme so that it can be applied to other roms??
I have to say that most women probably don't get into the technical aspects of their phones, but for some reason, I totally geeked out on mine. It freaks my husband out a little, I think. He helps me with my car, I fix his phone. It works well.
Coming from this perspective, I hope we aren't going to see an explosion of pink android themes... pretty please. Stick with the badass stuff like usual.
In more and more posts I see devs talking about rooting/testing with their wives' phones. Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea if a dev worked on a small line of girlied out ROMS for the ladies. My ma would love a purple or skyblue one :wink wink:

I am very interested in this purple Rom for my sister...I am going to root her phone and she is purple obsessed. How is the progress coming on it? I actually found one in the Droid forum and requested a port. It looks awesome.

I have an Orange theme about 90% done. Just need to make a few edits here and there. What I want to know is, since I won't be using it.. Im using my BNB theme... does anyone care, will anyone actually use it? I just dont want to take the last few hours of finishing it if no ones is going to use it..lol

I would use it, I would like an Auburn theme. Orange and navy blue.

I would like more than a skin. The skins are nice for the interim but a whole theme is best imo. I saw the red sky and it is nice I just don't like the arched rosie.

have you taken a look at "UOT kitchen" ? its pretty easy.
if thats not enough, google "7-Zip" and "ADB tools" and "M10 tools" and.... eh, you'll figure the rest out!
Make your own theme. Thats what I do. I find suff I like in all the different roms and make a theme out of it. I keep a "themes" folder on my computer with the images for each apk in it, then I build the rom, copy the images over. If you do that, you need to make sure that the same images are being used in your rom, otherwise youll be putting images in that you dont need, or leaving images out. Then I png optimize and flash....good to go!
Try InbRED rom by steal25. Very red and very nice. It's a whole rom so it'll be in development. It's odexed as well. Hope this helps.

I had heard about this but looked daunting. Might have to give it a second look.
I'm not knocking anyone, but I agree.
There are less than a handful of decent themes for the 3D. The Evo 4G had several really nice, polished themes.
Here you can get a few skins, most of which people wanna charge you 2$ in the market for and all you get is a new taskbar and different Sense widgets.. ripoff.
Team Derp makes nice themes that are actually kinda fresh, most the others are some form of honeycomb/gingerbread which has run it's course for me. Hopefully some talent will show up and help fill the major void in this section.. some thing other than a silly skin. =p

UOT is a great starting point. I thought about it a few times before I gave it a spin. Just start by pulling the three files it requests in kitchen. Then make your theme but only change one our two things. Then save the zip it creates for you. Then take that zip and extract the the files it requests for your next kitchen session. Its like an evil repeating circle but with enough trial and error you'll be learning things you had no idea about prior. After a while you'll be making folders with "keeper files" ... Anyways, its an option. Good luck and....

I agree with the OP to a certain degree.
I seem to find a few themes, but they all seem to be the same thing. BLUE (DARK at that), RED, Green, ORange. that's it....where are the other colors?
How come every single blue theme/skin is dark blue, navy blue, royal blue, purple blue? nobody has released a matted blues kind of theme. I know jabawalkee doesn't want MattedBlues ported over...fine, what about powder blue? sky blue, baby blue? light blue? anything except DARK blue!
i've already started making my phone look like it piece by piece. the slate skin is a good start, then my own blue HTC_IME keyboard, blue icons here and there...but i'm not talented enough or have the time to creat a full-on theme like MattedBlues was

I'm planning on making a theme for E3D CDMA and I want your feedback on what it should be? Some ideas I might integrate some I won't but I would still like to hear them . . . I know for sure its going to look clean nothing to crazy and it will at least take a month to do so don't expect it soon I like light colors look at my icon set those kinds of colors.... so let me hear your thoughts

What platform are you going to make this for? I saw you on the revolution HD thread you gonna make a sense theme? I really liked the minamalistic feel that i was able to accomplish with your icons it would be hard convert that into sense i feel. sorry im not much help as far as brain storming haha im sure what ever you do will look awesome though.

Yeah I'm planning on making a sense theme for android revolution ROM, and no it won't be to match my icons just something clean. Im leaning towards a dark green blue color with black but that's just something I'm thinking of right now I got a month to do it it will also be semi transparent for sure

I might do blue, but I'm talking a few days off probably because I've shelled out 2 full themes and all the system UIs when we were on stock. If you want in the meantime, search for a good blue theme and I can port it, which is way faster than starting from scratch.
