Hi All,
i have been using nova launcher and have been able to add sms unread widgets to the dock area.
Is it possible to add widgets to the dock area in apex launcher. I have tried and failed.
Using aokp build 33 rom.
You can, with the Pro version.

Hi,
I have a widget which I want on all my screens, and so far the only way I can do that is by adding that widget 5 times, once for each screen.
I was wondering if there was a way to add that widget onto the dock so its always there.
So, how did you manage to add the widget on the dock?
Please advice...

On Nova Launcher I think you can add them, but it has to be a 1x1 widget. Same for Apex Pro.

Ok this may be quite late but in Apex Launcher Pro:
Get into "Apex Settings" then
"Advanced settings" then
"Widget settings" then
"Widgets in dock" then
tick the tick box then
drag and drop your chosen 1x1 widget from the home screen to the dock i.e. add one to you home screen first.

Hi!
Im wondering why i cant place a 4x1 snowstorm widget on my home screen?
Its all empty but it says "there is no more space on this startpage" (translated)
Im using launcher pro för my menubar in the bottom.
He just downloaded the app to try out, it works fine on stock touchwiz. so id guess it is a launcher problem.
try loading TW and see if you can install it on that homescreen.
i dont have launcher pro installed but i would check its options for something like home screen grid and check that it is set to something like 4x4, a quick way to check if you dont want to dig though options is to see how many apps you can place on the home screen in a line, if it is only 3 then you know you are in a somethingx3 format.

thanx dude it worked, just needet to set the columns and rows
Someone has got to have made this but I can't seem to find it. I'm using a "hubs" layout (one screen for social media, one for productivity etc) and I'd like to essentially have a horizontally scrollable launcher widget on each screen with apps that make sense for that hub.
Currently using simi folder widget which is cool, but I'd prefer the launcher bar that is activated by clicking on the folder to live in a widget right on the home screen.
Could anybody point me to a widget app like this? I'm pretty sure I saw a video where someone had this but didn't see details on what they were using. Thanks!
Edit: sorry if this would have been better posted in themes and apps. Please move if necessary.

If I'm understanding you then what you're looking for is a dock that can display icons that are specific to the current page? Something close would be Nova launcher which provides a scrollable dock. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it!

Thanks, I'm currently using Apex and I really like it. I don't want just 1 dock (no matter how many pages on it you can scroll through). I want a different set of apps in a horizontally scrolling launcher bar widget. Then I could put an instance of this widget on each of my homescreens with different apps in each one. Then when I swipe from my "Office" homescreen to my "Photo" or "Video" homescreens this "launcher" widget has the appropriate apps for that hub. Hopefully that makes sense.
Like I said, simi folder widget is pretty good for this kind of setup, but I thought there might be a better solution out there.
Well, whenever I reload an exported theme, my widget settings are gone. So I have to do them again. But the only way to do this right now, is removing the widget, then finding it in a huge list, and adding it again.
Am I the only one who would like this?
Made a feature request too
Seems like a "Settings" link could easily be added below the Widget menu, under "Resize" and "Remove"

What type of settings are you referring to? Settings such as Widget Overlap or Desktop Grid Size are theme dependent, therefore every new theme will have it's specific settings.

I'm talking about the settings that some widgets have, like gtasks, where you need to choose which account you want to show tasks from, what colour the widget should have, and some other things. Like widget specific. Not all widgets got something to set, but some you have to setup a few options when you place it the first time. And at least in my stock launcher, I can get back to checking or resetting those settings again.
Know what I mean?
Kinda hard to explain

We understand what you mean, however Themer is the same as any other launcher when it comes to this. For example, if you add a Clock widget, it will give you all the same options as any other launcher. You can always change these settings if you open the app from the app drawer.

Hey Guys/Girls,
There's a topic on what im about to ask here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2480256 however no-one has replied, hoping s4 mini users may be a bit more helpful .
Basically, I'm using Nova launcher and for the life of me can't get my widgets to look like they do in Touchwiz, is there any way to reduce the padding on the widgets?
I've seen someone saying that this is the reason they don't use Nova but Apex instead, can anyone confirm this?
With the screenshots, the one on the left is using Nova launcher and the one on the right stock Touchwiz.
Any help would be grweatly appreciated .
Cheers.

Do you mean in my screenshot? I know as this is a size option with the Yahoo weather widget and i don't want the 4x2 widget. As you could see though, it looks much nicer in the Samsung Touchwiz than in Nova launcher (looks much more elongated).
I've set the number of rows and columns the same as Touchwiz as well as seting the height margin to non and width margin to small but that hasnt helped.
Cheers.

Looks the same on my s4 mini... It's not elongated unless you manually resize it. Have a look at the attached screenshot, please. Tell me if that's what you mean.

Hmm that looks much better than mine! How many rows/columns are you using? Also are you using Nova launcher? If so which version?
Cheers,

LOL. Yeah, I'm using the default everything in Nova Launcher. Nova Launcher is version 2.3.
BUT
The Yahoo Weather widget is a 2x2, default size. The BBC News widget is a 3x3 RESIZED into a 2x2 to fit into the top right corner. Like in the attachment.

Wow, complete amateur hour moment for me haha, realized that stock Touchwiz grid is 4x4. Changed this in Nova and now lines up better however there still seems to be quite a bit alot of padding above and below the alarm widget (small i know but annoys me ). Going to swith to Apex launcher and see what that looks like.
Anyway, thanks for replying arsradu :good:
Cheers.

Looks like the launcher is different on the N2 - different icon layouts for folded/unfolded screens...
Wow. Want this for N1
I will try it and let you know what's the new.
Unfortunately there's no option to arrange the icons layout (4x4 or 5x5 etc). Would there be any way to change that?
bump!
we want that layout!! Please Oppo!
Find and give us
The layout looks great on the unfolded screen. Hope it can be updated in N1.
Still no update?
Update to PEUM00_11_F.31 for the N incl. Launcher from N2.......
That will be nice...

Layout allows for 4x5, 5x4 and 5x5 on main screen. Front screen shows half of the main screen in succession.
