You could use swiftkey from the market, it has a feature that allows you to enlarge the buttons and the prediction on it is amazing. It doesn't have t9 though, since it is only in qwerty.

TouchPal, it is: resizable, custom skins, Swype, t9, qwerty, azerty, prediction, supports many languages and its free!

Try multiling Keyboard!

I got pretty big fingers too
If you are willing to shell a few bucks, then try out Smart Keyboard Pro (use HTC skin) It works wonderfully on my G3

HTC Keyboard - how can I enable auto-correction always?

Hello,
I've been quite disappointed with the HTC Keyboard on my European Hero (currently on 2.73.405.whatever firmware). In almost all cases in QWERTY mode it does not do any auto-correction of any type, even if I have prediction and spell checking turned on in the settings. It only offers auto-correction when I am in a multi-line input such as sending a text message or a textarea in a website . When it does work, it works well and I can type really efficiently. But in most text fields such a Google search box, etc, it gives me no auto-correction and I have to type each key exactly.
Strangely enough, in compact qwerty and keypad mode it always works, but in QWERTY mode it doesn't. Also I've tried TouchPal (a replacement keyboard) and it works all the time in TouchPal. But I would like it working on the stock HTC keyboard.
I just spotted a screenshot on some blog showing the auto-correction box working in a one-line textbox in QWERTY mode (the Google search box)!

Note the popup box with the orange pill-button and + key.
Has that one been hacked so correction always works, or is mine showing some software bug?
How can I get mine to do this?
same issue here, I wrote to htc support and waiting for an answer
Hi, I have noticed the same thing, it is probably a bug. Actually, the t9 doesnt work for me even in compact qwerty and phone keypad. Are you sure it does for you? i am running the latest fw too, 2.73.405.5 wwe.
Anybody in this forum can help?

[Q] Best soft keyboard with directional keys?

Seems we have one of the few Android phones without a trackpad or directional keys. Sure makes it hard to navigate especially when editing - especially for folks like me that type a reply and then 'look back' before hitting submit. Anybody find a good software keyboard replacement for the ATRIX that has directional keys?

If you root the phone you could probably get the HTC_IME on the phone.
The keyboard for gingerbread has the directional keys in the pay version.

Swype and ThumbKeyboard are my favs with directional keys.
yep, for Swype, just swipe from the Swype key to the "sym" key and it'll pull up a full navigational keyboard. press the "abc" (previously "sym") key to go back.
arrows keyboard
use arrows keyboard from android marketplace

Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard

So my 20 year old son kicked me off my imac ...so I got inspired, whipped out the "Logitech Tablet Keyboard for Android 3.0+" and resumed my work on an Office Document.
I was impressed with the keyboard; it connected first try, has dedicated Home, back arrow, Menu buttons and function buttons that control the music and launch the calender.
Also the keyboards case serves as a dock/holder for my Note.
I'd say the 5.3" Note and BT Keyboard are a great match.
I'm using the Apex launcher which works in landscape mode but I can see where a BT Mouse would help navigate. I need to find a small one.

I have the same one- someone on here actually posted up the deal from Daily Steals- and i love it! i use it everyday at work and at home. I am also in search of a Bluetooth mouse that i like, but in the meantime, i can just plug in a USB mouse at work
edit: mine actually isnt the same- i bought the 'Logitech Portable Keyboard for iPad' because it was 29 bucks, vs the 89 retail. the home button still works, volume and music controls work, search works, its just missing a back button.

Found this apple mouse in my junk drawer and it works.
Why do you allow your 20 year old to kick you off of anything? Tell him to get his own iMac or whatever. Unless he is supporting you, which I doubt.
Thanks for the post, though. Nice pics and input.

[Q] Android and Landscape mode

Hello, Since i have an android device and tried some roms for this device (HTC One S)and its dissapointing to see that landscape mode is so lacking in the space that could have been used in messaging apps.
Its quite annoying (for me atleast) to have to withdraw my keyboard whilst typing something because the one i am texting with has sent something new.
I understand that this is not a place for requests, so my question is, is there any way to make messaging look like this (this image is not real)

and not like this..
Im not looking for a specific rom that allows this, im just looking for anything that makes this possible on any rom.
Thanks in advance!
Go keyboard does this, assuming you're willing to use it.
Also, is that the default ICS keyboard? I like the design.

Yeah it is the Stock ICS keyboard, its the best keyboard out there imo
And Thanks, i'll have a look into that Go Keyboard and see if i am willing to use it.
On a sidenote, isn't it kind of odd that this relies on what keyboard you use rather than using whatever keyboard you like and being able to do this ?
There are some of those keyboards where they divide on both sides, those may be something you want to look into

[Q] Swype is acting up, can you recommend a keyboard with an apostophe?

I like Swype, but I don't use the swyping feature which sometimes gets in the way if I'm typing quickly with my thumbs. Also, there's a black bar above the keyboard. Permanently. I have word suggestions off, but that still shows, and any new word I type it says "Add xxx to dictionary?". I don't want any of that.

I need a keyboard which has an apostrophe above the . button, so you can hit shift then . to make a ' - I cant do without them and dont want to type like this.
I've tried a lot on Play store but none of them have an apostrophe accessible by touching shift. Any ideas?
Thank you.
