It does force close if you install it by clicking.
However, I renamed the file and pushed it to /system/app

No odex should be required as it should contain classes.dex.
odexed systems are allowed to have deodexed apps. If you look closely, framework-res.apk and the com.htc.resources.apk both are not odexed

Try this one. I extracted it from CM9 nightly for Galaxy S 2 and it's working on my ICS rom. Just install like a normal apk

[MOD] Remove home button lag associated with voice command app

Hi hope this is in the right section
I found a post in the GSII International forum that removes the lag that you experience when hitting the home button on our phones.
This is due to the voice command app. This fix removes the voice command double tap option, you will have to access it from the app drawer now but it removes the lag associated with the app launching when hitting the home button.
This has only been tested and confirmed working on Cog X2 Beta-3 and Cog X2 Beta-4. Does not work on odexed stock as well as Perception. YMMV
As usual flash at your own risk, I am not responsible for your phone or problems it has from this modification.
Here is a CWM package courtesy of jivy26 to make flashing a little easier!

This can also be done with adb push as follows:
adb push android.policy.jar system/framework
Yes it really makes a difference in my opinion. The lag was just ridiculous not to mention I would usually hit the home key a few times (very impatient hahaha) opening the voice command app which I never use.

xTMFxOffshore, what worked for me is downloading the .apk from link 4, moving it to the system /app folder via root explorer, changing permissions to rw-r--r--, then changing the owner to 0-root and group to 0-root, and renaming the original LatinIME.apk to LatinIME2.apk and renaming the downloaded .apk to LatinIME.apk and rebooting. Hope this works for you. The only difference I saw however is that I wasn't able to find the original back in the same folder.. lol. so back it up like fnztakedown suggested if you wanted to switch back later

S-Voice is available as a separate download here, but Samsung's cloud compute server is very picky about who it responds to. The general theory going around is that is only listens to Samsung devices, but you're welcome to try.

Guys, for S-Voice to work, you have to place the apk into System/App, use Root Explorer to only check the read permissions, and the top write permission. Reboot your phone, then (THIS IS IMPORTANT TO END FORCE CLOSING) go to the apk within System/App and tap it then install it like a normal app to end the force closing.

I can confirm that editing build prop does work and stick on reboot. Was able to make photosphere stop working and start working again as a test.
You may have to reboot one more time. After installing it I updated superuser and it had a read/write error. After rebooting it is fine.
And once again my phone hates any kernel that's out beside stock. I wonder what's the problem that my phone hasn't been able to run without freezing and rebooting

I605VRALL4 Multi-view?

I am running the VRALL4 Stock Rooted and De-Odex'ed rom from Scrosler. So far, its a great rom, I haven't really had any problems with it. Except I cannot figure out how to enable all apps in multi-view with a De-Odex'ed rom. I absolutely love this feature and would really like to get it back. Is there any way to do that on this rom? I tried this. It seems that because the rom is De-odex'ed, this doesnt work. There is nothing to replace when I copy the files to their appropriate folders because all .odex files have been removed.
@1ManWolfePack
I did not find this app installed on the rom. I went and found it here on XDA. I tried installing just the app, it seems to function however, the apps in the multi-view bar are not changed at all. I also tried flashing the framework files..... that resulted in a bootloop and I had to restore to before I flashed the framework file.
Thank you guys for helping me! Any other suggestions that I could try?

Look in Scott's "Recently Archived Builds" link on his website. You can get the 1.0 SE there. Doubt there is further support since he archived it but really... anything that is missing in the Vzw 1.0 light can be found elsewhere. At least this way you have an option to have it or not.
Also, that is the LJB build, the new one is based of the new OTA, LL4, and new bootloader. I have the new bootloader and won't trust mixing the two.
