Data Network.. Internet not working... - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hello everyone, I have a problem, I have used my internet 3G few weeks ago just fine, but now it's not working. APN is configured, tried several different configs, but nothing.. now it's default... I hold power button > Data network mode > it still says deactivated... I don't know whats the problem? Anyone, help? Thanks.
Im using 2.3.6 and CF-Root.

This wont probably solve anything but I occasionally have to force my phone to only use 2G before it finds the network. I will then turn off that option to make my phone find the 3G network.

Nope, didn't solve the problem, but thanks anyway.

So what did you do inbetween? No reflash or anything like that?

WiFi issue on my Hero...

Hello everybody!
Someone of you has noticed a poor WiFi reception on Hero?
I'm experiencing a poor WiFi reception in my house when Hero is connect to internet thru an access point.
What happen is that after WiFi connection has been established the phone tends to loose it and restart connection thru GSM/3G link.
That happen also if phone stay in the same place without moving around and also when phone is close to access point location.
Any idea about way to solve the problem?
Regards.

Just an upgrade on issue...
If I turn off data connection thru GSM/3G and switch on WiFi seem that WiFi connection is stable so maybe issue come when both data connection are enabled...
Anyway is annoying shout down each time data connection on GSM/3D and power on WiFi!
Regards.
i believe wifi goes idle when not in use. so it connect to 3g or edge. However there is an app if not various in the market already to help keep wifi always on..
Do a search for wifi and see for yourself.

Thanks for suggestion!
At now I've solved turning off GSM/3G data connection when I'm at home anyway I guess that WiFi reception sometimes go away due to issue of the phone or maybe as way to save battery...
when that happen phone stay unconnected so I guess that should be better if I will check for apps that keep WiFi connection always working!
Alex
when the device goes into standby, the wifi is turned off to save battery poweer, and it will go back to 3G.
go into the wifi settings, press menu and select advanced.
select the timeout options
set to never and it will not turn off when in standby.
problem solved and you shouldn't have to turn off Mobile data, although with the settings widget on your homescreen turning mobile data off off each time is hardly going to ruin your life. in fact i tend to do this anyway, just cos i have spent too many years with windows mobile....
Here's an annoying bug I've found tho - on TMob UK
If I send an MMS from home, wifi on, it sits there, and doesn't send the message. Until I turn off wifi and 3G kicks in again.
Now I know for a fact that on my Magic, it was able to turn on 3g/HSPDA to send the message all by itself. Might have a look in thodse advanced settings tho to see if there is something I can do.. Not a biggie, just a bit of an annoyance.

I too, have been doing a search on Forums all over Google looking for a resolution to this.
I have noticed if Wi-Fi is enabled I am unable to send or receive MMS messages.
It is an annoyance having to turn Wi-Fi off each time also I am never to know if someone has tried to send a message in the first place.
Currently using T-Mobile G2 (rooted with MCR Rom 2.8) on T-Mobile UK

[Q] 3G-2G switch data problem

I experienced this problem with two X10, when you are on WCDMA only mode and data connection is active, try switching to GSM mode only. Your data connection will not restore until you enable then disable Airplane mode.
Anyone having this same problem? Both X10 have different manufacturing date and tried it also with different provider but same results
Mine doesn't do that. I do this all the time when I don't want to get over my limit in one day which is 1GB of data...
Mine does the same thing. I have no problem switching from 2g to 3g. But when I go back from to 3g to 2g I have to turn on airplane mode to enable data again. I am running GB 2.3.3 JVB. But the same thing happened on 2.2.1. Being searching like crazy and havent found any solution. Anybody know how to fix this? Maybe its a network problem not a phone problem.
Hi there.
I have the same problem. Do you have any news?

[Q] problem with data connection

when i have the wifi connection on for a long time and then turn it off... the data connection doesn't restart... this happens also when I lose the mobile network signal.
I have tried off and on the data connection, activate and deactivate the flight mode but nothing, the only solution is to restart the phone.
i have a 5380L phone and a 2.3.6 stock ROM
Please check with the wifi sleep policy. Also check the apn list . Delete unwanted apn lists .
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
Where can i find the wifi sleep policy settings?

Don't know if that will solve your issue, but that's where it is...
Hope that helps.
nop this doesn' t fix it... now also is happening randomly... i think the reason is a low signal from the mobile network... but does not reconnect, i can call, send sms, but I have no data connection
i rooted the phone with cf-root, i dont know if the kernel have a data control policy, i havent found anything about it
For a moment I thought the problem might be the baseband from the rom i have installed, but i have 3G in occasions

Change basebands or stock rom version. I had that problem once.

JB broke my wifi

I've tried searching and haven't found anyone with the same issue as I.
Jellybean broke my wifi, I had no connection issues before whatsoever.
Now, it still shows it's connected to the network with full strength but when I go to use the internet or any apps, it says there is no network connection, webpage unavailable, no autosync, etc. Things are fine when I go back to 3G and nothing has changed on my phone but the JB update. I've turned Sprint Optimizer off and on, deleted and manually readded all the wifi networks, and am not sure what else to do besides hard reset. Any ideas? Also, I am not rooted.

have you done a complete network reboot (cable modem and wifi router) when having the crappy sprint connection optimizer off?
if this helps you feel free to hit the thanks button
Thanks for the help! I found the answer in another thread... Seems JB automatically turns on "DLNA auto-ip" for some people. The fix that worked for me was Settings>Wifi>Menu>Advanced and uncheck "DLNA auto-ip" at the bottom.

How to Use Mobile network without turning wifi off

Hey guys,
Is there any way to use Mobile Networks without turning Wifi off?
Currently, as soon as I turn Wifi On, if there's a know network around, it will connect to Wifi and obviously Mobile Network (3G) is not used...
However, is there any chance to still use Mobile Networks without:
- Turning Wifi OFF
- "Forget" known networks
Reason for all this is that I'm having an issue with my phone... When I turn Wifi On, it gets "stuck" turning it on, and the only way to get wifi connection is by turning phone off and then on again (seems like a known bug, but nothing seems to fix it)
So what I want to do is to keep Wifi On all the time, but always use Mobile Networks unless I want to connect to wifi...
Any idea?
I had the same problem a little while ago, other software worked for me.
There is a workaround that helped me when wifi was stuck
Go to settings and search wifi hot spot! Turn that on and off and try if the normal wifi is off again.
It doesnt work always, but you can try. But i would say put some new firmware on the phone!

if you go to settings, you see wireless&networks. you can click on "more"
you will see Tethering & portable hotspot click on it, and there is the option for the portable wifi hotspot.
enable it, and disable it again, next thing is to check if you can turn on wifi the normal way again.
i hope this helps for you!
Will give it a try!! Thanks!
