Here's what I've noticed and actually checked into the last couple of days. Some fonts look amazing or shall I say look normal. Some font's however don't look as normal and actually show the jagged edges that some complain of. A specific font choice with a smaller font size will yield a kinda jagged appearance and obviously some will see it and some won't depending on the apps they use.
It may be worth it to experiment and determine which fonts we would eventually like to incorporate into roms and mods.
For example, if you enable the 4x1 beautiful weather in Beautiful Widgets you'll see the temp fonts look rather jagged. If you happen to use Audio Manager you will notice the font is even smaller than the BW fonts but look much better. Mobile Signal Widget has the worst example of what's on my device. The signal strength font looks horrible.
The screen in amazing, the colors are superb and for the most part it's super sharp. We should help it along as much as we can.
Someone on another forum pointed out the red text in the Youtube app, that looks bad.
For the most part, for what I use on a daily basis, I have no complaints.
Ya, 98% is perfect, its only those certain situations, that's why I think they could be easily avoided.

I'm using the Robo-ICS font for a while now and also applied it to the Razr right after rooting it. I'm pretty much satisfied with it. It will however not solve the issue with red graphics/letters, because especially with red, the typical pentile effects are more visible than in any other situation.

Your right. Roboto looks fantastic.

Are you guys using Font Installer? It sure threw my phone into a bogged down mess. Had to reboot twice after the font install to get it back to normal. Sent the battery temp up to 37c very quickly.
It may not be for everyone but the Droid font looks really sharp as well. Especially the smaller text.

Make sure you're rooted and install Font Installer or ROM Toolbox, or whatever else. They have it pre-installed.
I just installed it. It did reboot on me 1 time. Now it seems OK. Thanks for the heads up on this. Very nice and clean look.
Just installed the roboto font and it does look slightly better. I'm just glad to have at least a little bit of ability to customize. I really miss my X for that reason. But, on the up side, my wife loves it! I Gabe it to her

Hey anyone know the exact name of the stock font?
Does anyone know what the name of the font for the clock on the lock screen of the droid razr is called? I've searched every droid forum I could and I can't for the life of me figure it out, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bump... Need this too... I need t to create a duplicate lockscreen for MIUI. Need help and it will be greatly appreciated.
Just had a good old internet search but couldn't find a definitive answer so I thought I'd ask the lovely people at xda. Hopefully someone will give me an answer before everyone gets pissy and this thread gets locked.
Anyway, slightly deceptive title as I'm using a ROM based on stock, so, not entirely stock (Chameleon 1.2). Just made a switch away from Cyanogenmod due to the fairly awful battery life I was getting, hopeful this fixes that somewhat. However, I'm already really missing being able to make the font smaller, to a point where I can't use this at all.
Is there a good AIO solution to this? Or am I gonna have to suck it up?

Hadn't though of this for some reason. Works quite well but I'm pretty happy with a dpi of 240 so if anyone else knows of a way I'd love to hear it

Cheers, I'll have a peek to see if I can find a smaller sized Roboto font and apply that :good:

Good stuff. The persistent notification is rather annoying though, but the font size seems to persist after killing the app, so I'll live.

Done and done. Very nice, and you can turn the notification icon off. We have a winner! Cheers bud.
I've been messing around with it and was wondering if anyone found a perfect density level for our phones to be in.
Right now I'm at 220. I'll probably go lower later on as the demand for more space on my screen increases.

I haven't played around with that much myself, but here's what b.huss2, the person who originally ported Paranoid Andorid to the Evo 3D, recommended for tablet and hybrid mode with that mod.

I don't think their is an ideal LCD density. It really depends on the person and their preference of how much they want.
Personally I think the default 240 is just fine.
I've set mine to 256 to match the physical screen density. Makes things like the keyboard and other buttons bigger so I find myself mistyping much less often.

I think that density may work best with the tablet and hybrid mode of Paranoid Android. I haven't tried it with any other ROM or launcher.

What's the lowest you've been able to go on ics stock? I also couldn't goto 160
I'm not all that impressed by the stock resolution, need smaller icons and more room! ANyone else?
I've noticed a few screen issues. I think once more apps are converted to being able to make use of this resolution, things will get better over time.

No, I want t take advantage of the 2k screen, Honestly I cant even really tell the difference between stock form g3 and my S5.. the icons are huge and lots of space is wasted on the page indicator.

Totally. You can make eye charts with Nova's grid. I'm enjoying the size of the icons for now, but I figure I'll tighten things up eventually.

if you root you can change ro.sf.lcd_density in /system/build.prop to a lower number like 480 looks very nice. However the LG custom apps will not work.
You could change the LCD density, if you're root. That's what I did with my S4 to make things look smaller.
changed my DPI to 530 no issues and everything fits better. wanted to try going to 1080p to see if its a real diffrence, when why i tried everything looked too big and not as smooth

edit build prop. or use a dpi changer.. you need to root tho
Well
Be careful on the DPI settings. Gotta be root, and I used a DPI changer. It worked fine. Until I couldn't get my actual phone app or contacts to work. I got around this by getting an app, but I was still having issues. I thought it was because I went thru the system and deleted a bunch of apps, accidentally deleting something important. So I did a reset. And doing a reset doesn't fix the DPI settings back. After being an idiot for a few minutes, I learned it was because of the DPI settings. Changed them back and it fixed the issue. So I've just left it alone and went with Nova. I contribute some of that ignorance to alcohol.

I edited the build prop and rebooted and for some reason that didn't work for me so I grabbed Texdroider_DPI from the play store and set it to 530 and it worked.
Looks much better!

Did it not make your lock screen wallpapers look all screwy though? It zooms in on the wallpaper and makes a dark shadow on the top part for me. I couldn't find a way around it when lowering the dpi.
Interesting... as I'm reading these, I'm thinking... some of the lettering is somewhat blurry, or has a weird look to it... is that just the IPS or the fact that no one has adapted to 2k reso?
530 is great for me. No issues so far

Yeah, the wallpaper does zoom in, and the smart notice widget gets messed up. Could probably fix it if you could resize it.

I would use Nova anyway, so hopefully no issues with a resolution change.
Long time Fold user, got myself a Find N today, and love it.
Except for one teeny, tiny, massive issue.
The launcher is... dreadful.
No matter. Install Nova.
No joy.
No matter. ADB. Delete...
Hmm... error.
So, stuck with Launcher from 2011.
Has anyone rooted the Find N? I assume it's *reasonably* simple and allows me to delete the default launcher. The bootloader can certainly be unlocked.
Any thoughts?
Do it! I plan to as well, although I've never rooted a phone before so it will be a new experience for me. The launcher is really holding this thing back.
How do you root? I'm planning to, but haven't found how so far
yes!! we absolutely need someone to root it
What is the big issue with the stock launcher?
It doesn't have outer/inner layouts, and it's limited to a 5x5 grid, which specially in the inner screen makes no sense at all.

Any luck trying to root, anyone?
Root possible or not ? Apps for banking work with route phone or not ?
