Hi all,
I am the local computer guy for a small business and I have a bit of a problem with a locked HTC EVO 3D. The user has locked their phone via a pattern lock and forgotten their Gmail password. Normally I would wipe the phone and start over but there is some extremely important data that we cannot afford to lose. I am comfortable using ADB to pull files, but I cant seem to find a way to activate the ADB console without first enabling USB debugging. It seems like there should be a way to use ADB from recovery, but I cannot make a connection. I understand this this seems fishy, but you will make my supervisor extremely happy if you can assist in any way.
Completely stock HTC EVO 3D. Unsure of software versions, I will have to assume it is running the latest software.
Thanks so much for your time.

I've had similar issues sir, but this method worked flawlessly! It's a program called Screen Lock Bypass and you can install it through the market via PC using Google login. Here's the description from the market and how to use it:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New improved version which also allows the password or PIN to be reset so you don't have to reset your device can be found here: Screen Lock Bypass Pro
Screen Lock Bypass has been used by tens of thousands of people to successfully unlock their device after they forgot their password, pattern, or PIN.
Instructions:
1) Login to the web based Android Market.
2) Install this application to your registered device.
3) Then install any other application you wish, it will trigger this application to run and the Screen Lock will be disabled.
Notes:
This application will also run each time the device is booted so you can always bypass the lock screen.
This application does not remove or reset your pattern/PIN, it only temporarily disables the lock screen so you can access your device and backup your data before resetting it.
To remove Screen Lock Bypass, open the application and click Uninstall.
This method will not work on certain devices, but give it a go, it is free after all!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope this helps!!
Damn, need to remove the lockscreen from my phone (broken screen, need holiday photos)

Not without the code. He or she can flash a custom kernel to wipe everything (but I highly doubt that device has an unlocked bootloader and is rooted), but that'll - yup, wipe everything. OP is pretty much f-ed when it comes to retaining data, but starting from scratch again isn't the issue here. OP can flash with Flashtool or PCC, but the data is gone unless ADB is enabled and OP has an authorized PC.
It's a good thing that it's hard or pretty much impossible to extract the data without the PIN/code/pattern though. It just shows that the security in Android is working as intended.
To make is short: Do a full wipe with Flashtool. You won't get your data.

Go to emergency call and dial 911. That will turn Airplane Mode off. Then try to unlock with Android Device Manager by going to https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager If that doesn't work, just keep guessing at the password. I had a tablet that I hadn't used for a year and it took me 89 attempts to get it unlocked. If there is a limit on attempts and you run out, hopefully you can get cellular data by the emergency call trick, or connect to wifi, you can install this app from a desktop, if you have access to your notifications you'll be able to launch it to backup all your pictures and such. If you can't click the notification then restart your device and see if it works.
Of course, this all comes to play if you know ADB doesn't work. Plug your phone into your computer and see if it recognizes. On Windows 7 up the drivers install automatically most of the time. Go into your Device Manager and see if "ADB" shows up. If it does, download adb.exe from SDK tools and run "adb backup" from a command prompt.
Hi, I am trying to unlock a Galaxy J1 Ace SM-J111F/DS for my colleague. The phone belonged to his younger brother who had passed away in an accident, now that he's gone, we have no information as to now to unlock his phone.
I have tried researching and searching around for methods but to no avail. I was hoping maybe someone here could provide some assistance
A factory reset is out of the question as he needed to access information stored inside the phone
Some device details:
Device is locked by a pattern lock
Unable to unlock via Google account(No one in his family knows his account name/password)
Phone is not Rooted
Phone is FRP Locked
Things I have wanted to try and done so far:
Intended to flash a bypass to unlock the lock screen
Attempted to flash a custom recovery in order to flash the bypass, however FRP is locked and it does not allow a custom recovery to be flashed
Attempted various methods of "security exploits" to unlock, but appears to be patched on current firmware
Tried to search methods of unlocking FRP, however all the methods I've seen so far requires access to developers option, or requires a flash of stock firmware.
Tried accessing device via ADB, however it does not work as USB debugging is not enabled
I'm currently out of options trying to do this by myself, we would really appreciate it if someone could help us out in this

Yes, it is "seen", but I can't do anything else to it
If it is seen, there is a chance you can get data off it.
You can install' minimal ADB and fastboot' and the USB drivers for the phone on your PC. If the phone is not encrypted you should be able to browse the phone storage in an adb shell and to copy files or directories with adb pull.

I have tried that as well, the only way I can get the phone to appear under "adb devices" is to select "apply update from adb" via recovery, even then it's only via sideloads, running shell returns an error

Ill jump in this one to. im in a similar situation. I have a lg g vista that no conventional method is working to bypass frp. Device is not encrypted. My prob is. I believe if i can downgrade back to stock kk which the phone was released with it didnt hve frp then so bam im in. But lgflash tool wont downgrade. Always errors. Loads of diffrent settings have been made. Also followed guides to a t.
But in ure case to if it is possible to dlmode and odin back to kk or earlier u should the be able to skil the google login totally. I dont know if ure device came with kk from factory or lolipop. Frp was implemented in loli so kk should be good. Maybe
Two comments:
1) I have a Huawei G8 in front of me. I worked all weekend with it with bootloader/fastboot. I wanted to test the lock screen/adb behavior, But to my surprise ADB does not find it w/ and w/o lockscreen. --> There are different possibilities why the phone does not show up (it worked in the past with this phone/notebook, but quit working). Before you flash make sure that your setup is working (best with an identical mobile). It seems that USB connection can behave different in Bootloader/Recover/Android OS mode.
2) I made a dirty flash (w/o erasing flash) of Lollipop over Marschmallow last weekend. The result was that many directories including SDCard0 where not accessible. Also user data was not accessible. And you have always the chance that you mess something up when flashing and you loose the content.
If the data is really important your friend could pay a data rescue company (if you don't loose your face). I'm pretty sure that programs exist that can be loaded into RAM with bootloader (fastboot boot) that provide an interface to the PC (in the easiest case, adb again).

Does this version support VoLTE Video call?
Has anyone realise sudden changes in brightness to 100% while using ?
Well I happens with my phone. Sometime at night when I set brightness to minimum and using my phone the brightness increases. To set to minimum I change the valve by sliding then back to minimum.
Are you guys are suffering from this problem or its just me.
Does this phone support usb otg?
Why my contact app is showing nickname, how can I disable this, I tried installing google contact, but no success, looks like problem of OS not contact app.

Fixed by M7UUAU1 ROM
@Chupi383 I want to draw your lillte attantion for once to post number #3, #5, #6. These are not serious issue. just i want to know if u have suffered these problem, maybe you have fix to share with us.
The root partition on Android is always in the initrd in the boot partition.
I see no option for video call of any sort on any firmware for this phone. It is designed for US use, and video call isn't a standard feature here.
No, USB OTG is not supported. The software stack for it is present, so some USB OTG detector apps will tell you it's supported, but the hardware for it is not there. I plugged in a few devices with USB OTG adapters that work on my Galaxy S7 Edge and nothing happens -- no power to the device, nothing detected on the phone. Even using a tee adapter that lets me power both the device and phone USB port, the phone doesn't enumerate or detect the device.
I have been using Google's contacts app successfully and it works well. I haven't tried assigning a "nickname" to a contact. It just shows their first and last name as I've entered them.
Brightness does randomly change to 100% on some firmware versions. Best I can tell, it only happens with USB debugging enabled, or possibly only after connecting to the phone on adb. Disable USB debugging and reboot after you're done hacking and it shouldn't do that anymore.

adb dont work on reseted phone, to anable you have to go setting > developer mode > USB debugging.
or wait for 30min to start phone since it take little time after reset
or you have bricked your alcatel
try using
Code:
$ [B]fastboot -i 0x1bbb devices[/B]

Hi, when the Nexus 7 2. Gen came out in 2013, I bought it and used for 3 years until 2016. Unfortunately, I remember I dropped the device and the display cracked and made it impossible to use, and because a new one was 50 Euros back then, I thought it wouldn't be worth repairing it.
Now in 2020 I plugged in a OTG mouse, charged it and tried to find some funny stuff I could have stored like pictures from 4 years ago. However, there's a lock screen with password I have to prompt in which I can't remember anymore. The device is running Android 5.*, but I don't know which one for sure, there is no "Emergency call" to try this lock screen camera bypass bug.
The device has its bootloader unlocked (an unlocked lock is shown when I power on the device), and I rooted it 4/5 years ago so I could use my PS3 controller via OTG (This needed root permissions for some reason). I have also noticed that the tablet is still connected to my home WLAN connection.
Is there any chance to bypass the lock screen and/or recover data from it?
Edit: I managed to enter recovery mode but I can only wipe the whole device here, no backup. My android version is 6.0.1.
If you can establish an USB-connection between phone and PC
Code:
adb devices
then you can retain the data that you want to have by means of ADB, too.
Example:
Code:
adb pull /storage/emulated/0/DCIM C:\DCIM

the problem is that it's not recognized, I probably have to unlock it and then accept that I want to use the phone in ADB.

Hi, maybe you could try to flash an custom recovery to it, since the bootloader is unlocked. After that it'll be a lot easier to delete the lockscreen-password and as well backup the data from it.

This sounds good, you mean something like TWM? Is there anything to consider, do I just sideload this thing via adb?
EDIT: Thanks man, I did it, removed the password file and just got access. Feels like going 4 years back in time.

Nice to hear that everything went well.
So, I am currently having this Samsung Galaxy J2 TV (SM-J200BT, Android 5.1x) that I have been locked out for a couple of months now and I still have some important data there to be fetched out from the device, therefore leaving the factory reset option as the last resort. I have tried using Dr Fone and iMyFone but my device is not listed on their supported devices at the moment. I also have tried using ADB but unfortunately, USB debugging is disabled on the phone. At one point, I even have considered to apply the method which involves copy-pasting a long list of numbers and pasting it into the password field then crashing the lockscreen, but unfortunately again, the phone does not even allow me to copy nor paste anything while it is locked. I also have considered using the GSD tool to install the phone's boot.img file for this matter but the file that I have downloaded for my device seems to be unsupported or corrupt according to the software and carrying the next step into Odin just doesn't do anything either (TWRP included, since the 'galaxy j2lte' file was the closest one I could find).
The only possible solutions that I could think of, at least to some extent, that is still giving hope at the moment is to somehow find a roundabout method in activating USB debugging while the phone is locked or have a proper firmware/file that can help me succeed in installing into the phone and unlocking it using Odin or some other method, while at the same time, NOT LOSING ANY DATA. Any help or suggestion is widely appreciated, thanks in advance.
To access internal storage media ( userdata ) in case of a FRP lock phone's Android must be rooted and USB-Debugging must got enabled.
