[POLL] AOSP, ICS, or Sense? - HTC EVO 3D

So I've always wondered how many people use ICS on our 3Ds. Hopefully this poll won't be an inconvenience to answer.
EDIT: The AOSP option is for gingerbread. If you are using AOSP ICS, choose ICS.

I use mean ROM with go launcher so I vote sense
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA

I personally prefer Sense, but I've been using ICS over it lately. As soon as ICS Sense is available I'll hop on that, so I voted for Sense.

No comp so can't actually vote atm but Sense is a definite win for me.
Sent from my EVO 3D using Tapatalk 2

I bought HTC so Sense Duuuh.

Are we voting on which is the least broken?
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2

I vote sense. Can't wait until the Sense 4 port is good enough for a daily.

If I've helped you in any way... hit the "Thanks" button.

AOSP ICS owns everything.

options
I cant answer!!! I flash back and forth so much Idk what to choose... I dont care wat it is as long as its android 4.0 and/or sense. But if had to choose it would be sense 3.5. Only because the other two have there limitations.

Im the odd AOSP since im using a rom in which i deleted sense.
If i had the option to go AOSP gingerbread i would, but with the broken drivers i cant fully do that...
Also ICS isnt fully functional so cant do that.

Can't vote because I'm using Tapatalk but I use SPB Shell 3D.
I guess there needs to be an option for other launchers bruges vanilla Android and Sense.

This has nothing to do with launchers though.

I prefer for sense, but it must be nice if it come with all of it, sense and aosp in ICS..

Sense, why else would one buy a HTC?

Sense. Been switching between 4.0 and 3.5 but on 3.5 right now just because I like the 3D camera feature which is one of the reasons I bought this phone.

Exactly.

Sense!
Been using ics with my broken n1 (no camera, Bluetooth, fm radio). For now leedroid offers everything I need on the evo. But I'm curious about sense 4.

Sense 4.0
I'm using the sense 4.0 and ics 4.03 rom that was released today and I don't think that i'll be switching back anytime soon.

Either ICS (AOSP) or I buy an iPhone.

I think its safe to say that nobody knows. Supposedly were supposed to be getting Android 2.3 with Sense 2.1 but thats still a rumor
I hope so. After seeing videos of the new Sense on the Evo 3D I can't wait till it comes to the TB! Hopefully they'll be a custom ROM in the future.

I actually prefer sense 2.0 right now. That's what I bought into, not 3.0(which I'd never even seen) My device is running really fast and smooth and who knows how 3.0 will run on the T-Bolt. I'd rather try it thru a custom ROM than have HTC/Verizon do an official update.
It's 2.3 not 3.0.
Its runs smooth on my G2. I think it's a huge improvement over 2.2.1. I agree with the above poster. I'd rather flash a custom port than an OTA.
bleh, my sense seems to hang up when i go into my txt mssgs, like ill click on a txt, and jus sit there, then open up someone elses txt (txtd the wrong person a cpl times, not good if u dnt wanna get caught -_- lol)

[POLL] Bulletproof vs BeastMOD

Since I can't decide on which one to use.. im gonna make a poll.
They are both great.. I just cant decide.
I hope Xboarder56 doesn't mind.
Try em both that's what I did. And I have to say I llike both of them. Lol

Is poll threads the new trend? If u like sense go with bulletproof if u like aosp go with bestmod. Idnt see how the results of this poll will influence your choice.
Lol I started the whole poll thing!
Beastmod is Aosp like and has a very good battery life. I used one of the older versions of it and it was very good. However, bulletproof is whole sense with tweaks added, I've been using it since it was released and it is very very good. Whether you prefer Aosp or sense just like my poll lol
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using xda premium
They're both excellent and speedy ROMs. I had BulletProof as my daily driver for a while as well as BeastMOD and you can't go wrong with either. If you like the Sense eye-candy, then by all means, BulletProof is for you, but if you don't care much for Sense and would rather save some battery life and RAM, then BeastMOD is what you want.
How about both

It depends on your taste, I like a sense rom so I use Bliss but if i did use a 3.0 it would be Bulletproof plus you have that beats audio on it so its an up if you like music. You also have a very customizable UI its a rom you can really personalize in my opinion.

Difference Between Sense 3.6 & Sense 4.0

Alot of you have been asking this question. Well they ARE different. If you don't want to take my word. Here you go
----
Link : www.pocket-lint.com/news/45134/htc-sense-3-6-vs-sense-4
----
Take a about 5 minutes or more to read the comparison. This is to end all useless and repetetive posts asking. "How is sense 3.6 different from sense 4.0?"
Leave your feedback. Remember, I DID NOT WRITE THE REVIEW/COMPARISON . Please don't go saying that I'm ripping off somebody's review.
In the bottom you'll see a review
-----By tcy148:
" I got the upgrade on my Sensation XE a few days ago and have been playing around with it since. It is
SO much faster than gingerbread - the screens just glide! Games and browsing is also much faster.
I've done a few benchmark tests on it - Quadrant I'm getting 2800 vs 2200 (gingerbread). Antutu 5300
vs 4800. Nenamark2 40 fps vs 24 fps! Browsermark 88K vs 72K.
Plus, I seem to have more free memory now.

So hopefully we'll get perfomance boosts on our EVO 3D !

Seems like the wallpaper won't move during transition like it did in sense 2.x and sense 4.0 .

I was more or less wondering this myself recently after using Newt's Sense 4 ROM. I was curious if there was any benefit of going backwards to 3.6 - this just answered my question. Sense 3.6 looks like a cheap plastic imitation of Sense 4. Terrible!
Thanks for the link, definitely made my mind up.

I think Sense 4.0 looks far more polished than it's predecessors... Plain Vanilla Android has always looked just that, plain. I know plenty of people are more visually attracted to that, but personally I've always thought AOSP ROMs looked like a 'rough draft' of Android. I've run ICS and didn't have it installed for more than an hour. Google obviously doesn't seem to spend a whole lot of time on 'presentation' versus 'performance'. Which is fine with me, as every company puts their own skin on it anyway. I know Google adds cool visual stuff here and there, like transitions and what not, but overall it looks fairly plain. This is just my personal opinion, though. That's the reason I've kept buying HTC is for Sense UI...
They both have ups and downs except for the crayola crayon UI by Sammy lol
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Personally Sense to me has always been my favorite, and in my opinion, Sense has more customization options and more traditional feel for HTC. So you'll never be able to change sense. It's always going to be alike to its predecessors. Unlike stock Android, GB Stock is wayyy different then ICS stock android

[Q] Difference Between Sense 3.6 & 4.0?

What's the Difference between the two? I jumped straight to 4.0 so I never really experienced if there's much of a change. Can someone give me a brief list?
Thanx...
1. The whole look/theme of ui. Sense 3.6 is basically sense 3.5 and ics mixed together. Sense 4.0 is completely based on itself, nothing else looks like sense 4.0.
2. Features. It has more features than sense 3.6. Like landscape homescreen.
3. Animations.
4. Camera.
5. What devices its for.
Besides that, both are pretty much the same.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
transparent status bar (turns normal when you're on another app)
beats and all sound enchanter effect on third party apps (srs rules...)
music lock screen funtional with third party apps (like mort player)
I really like the app drawer, the navigation bar and the settings menu from sense 4 (alot more than sense 3.0-3.5-3.6)
the UI is more light, I think you can notice it with the boot time, and this has have other benefits and......... the scrolling is a little bit diferent is better on sense3.6 but it's strange I really prefer sense4 it's just diferent, wtf jaja
since sense3.6 doesn't give a new feeling, sense4 does, it's give a good feeling of a new phone (well at least a different one)

Since you are in the Evo3d Q&A thread, I will add that since Sense 3.6 ROMs are based on the VM Leak (well, most of them), everything on the 3d works. With Sense 4.0 ROMs, usually 4g (WiMax) and the 3d features do not work.

Speaking of Sense 4.0, does anyone have a recommendation for a rom that has it that will work on the Virgin Mobile EVO V? Don't really care about the 3D camera, even though it's a nice feature, but MMS is important to have working.

I think is the most recently updated sense 4 rom
I think my first post on this site haha. Anyways 4.0 just looks and feels different. not by much but its noticeable. The main feature i love is that adding stuff to the home screens is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much easier and faster. Thats what sold me to 4.0. I do love sense 4 over anything else but until they get working 4g (wimax) i will NOT use any sense 4 roms. I really hope Joel fixes this in the net update...
sense 4 is like a Porsche and sense 3.6 is like a Jette... Jettas are nice cars but Porsches are a hell of alot nicer... faster... more beautiful... more features (imo)

I think the issue is that HTC has not released the source code for the camera driver, so the devs trying to fix it are trying to write their own.

Thanks, I think I'll give it a try. Still may not be a daily driver due to the camera.
The siii camera is available for aosp roms, and pretty good
Just can't beat the sense camera software though. I hear jb and sense 4x have improved camera software. 29fps, better focus, ect

I've been meaning to ask a similar question, this seems like a good thread to bring up a discussion about what parts of Sense you miss in AOSP.
For me, definitely the camera. Beats audio is another one.
You can get the Sense clock widget in a .apk that works in other launchers.
Is there anything else?
Shortcuts, sense has a buttload of shortcuts that I can't live without. Plus the ui is great looking. Also quick settings. Sure everything is in ics and jb as well but its just not as polished.
