Best ROM for performance - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As the thread title says really.
I've been using the FXP117 ROM on my x10i and would like a change!

One word: FeraLab

Thanks

Donut 2.2.6 gives u aright balance of what u call LOOKS and PERFORMANCE.....

If you just want a fully functioning camera in your CM7, give MM team CM7 a go. Looks very similar to FXP CM7 but seems a bit better on the battery, and the camera rocks.
Otherwise I'd say Dixperia 7 looks good, smooth and fast

Champ & ToF37's X10S V8.2
Using it at the moment. Rom is fast, bug-free (mostly) and looks nice. It is as close an X10 will ever come to an Xperia S.
Using X10S V8.2 with kCernal (champ's kernel)

feralab v20 with thkernel v12-4.

DonutHD
If looking for high performance and ICS-ish look, i would say DonutHD!!! Stable and good for daily use All apps testd working
Accompanied with these recom updates zips inside thread/link below, will be perfect :

i have just flashed thkernel.ftf file with flashtool. actually feralab v20 is laggy with ferakernel and also with doomkernel(little bit) but it works smooth with thkernel.

do you flash the .ftf file and then install the zip or do you just have the .ftf file?

LB should flash zip file through xrec
And UB should flash .ftf.... That's it..
Don't forget to Hit thanks if it really helps u....

Yeah, i flashed WB last nigh over doom's last version and got no problem at all.
Fully functional.
There a lot of apps missing in the gaming rom, but you can get the ones that you want from the normal rom, by copyng from the zip to the system/app directory and fixing permissions or simply installing.

Best ROM for Stock

Guys no one is giving any suggestions
which is the best ROM for STOCK kernel....>?????
MiniCM6 v1.0.6 is best for me for stock kernel!
And the best rom for everyone will be different! So you need to check yourself which suits you the best! Happy Flashing!!!

I prefer in stock kernel MiniCM7 pro V21 by Paul...
Just give a try, and decide which is better for you..!
thanks cerebro....but when i was looking for CM7 it said its for zombie and other kernels and it requires to unlock the bootloader because it installs the private kernel on that....
i will go for the custom kernel because i can feel the difference when i use the phone. so if you feel very brave and have more guts to unlock the bootloader you can test all the available kernels.
I prefer you can test that out with custom kernel. if you dont then its ok.
Every user has a personal opinion over rom and kernel. so it is pointless to know which one works with the stock kernel. You can go for a rom hunt and find out which one works for you.
Good luck!
for me best rom for stock is CM7v21 and GingerDX (any version)
also FlameDX.ICS style.

I think you are getting confused... The miniCM7Pro by paul, is this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201116
And it works with stock kernel, I used it for a long time, in fact was the only Rom i prefered before I use the nAa.
So, give it a try...!!
I'm new here, and I'm searching for a while now for a stock 2.2.1 froyo rom because thats the most stable rom for my mini pro processor but i can't find it i found a couple but they have ugly icons of is honeycomb themed somebody know where i can find a 2.2.1 rom with original icons and theme

use the el MiniCM7 pro V21 by Paul!!! this is the best and fast rom for me! 100%...
thnx, i already tried that one but i had some issues with that rom, i have now for a few months mini arc and it works fine sometime a little bit slow and now i have v9 and looks great. i like the rom because the original state of it no weird icons or launchers (i hate that)
I have been using minicm7 pro v21 since it got out and had no problem with it.
I haven't tried arcmini or the latest gingerDX though.
Would Be MiniCM7 Pro V21...

just to make it clear. your using minicm7 right? with nAn kernel...? if so. why didnt you install sony style by paul-xxx, instead of minicm7?.. it comes full with a stock look and is an "refined" version of minicm7.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151499
*doesnt use nAa kernel though. you'd need to revert to stock kernel to use this ROM in your case.
but if you want to stick with the ROM and kernel your using (nAa kernel and minicm7: beautiful by the way). maybe you can find stock theme that works with the theme chooser and download and install it.
hope this helped.*
this is xperia arc theme install by themechooser..

It's not kidding 250mb!!
I believe it very smooth and no lag
Lag can be apps running in the background, use task killer app if not rooted.
Lag can be a bad flash of a rom.
Lag can be slow kernel.
Lag can be alot of things
From XDA on my XPERIA X10-S, powered by DooMKerneL
FeraLab v14 is really smooth and nice...
but in the end, I switch back to ThGo2 v16, maybe I'm used to it.

Try DonutHD 2.2.6 with DooMKernel_v6, ICS theme. I'm using and, honestly, its the best rom for me. Fast, smooth and beauty. Give a shot, you can be lucky!

[Q] Current best ROM for x10

exclude MIUI if possible!!
I'm a flashaholic and just spent the last couple of days finding a rom for everyday use on this device. I've had it laying in a drawer for a year, but since my Desire is away for repairs, my interest in x10 mini reawakened.
The only rom that gives half decent batterylife and just bearable laggieness is latest cm7. This device clearly has limits.
You must try it yourself. Because, maybe for others is good, but for you will not. I been read that FeraRom v20 is good, fast, without lags... But when I was trying by myself, I realize that it's not good enough for me ( have lags, not so fast as they wrote...). I was try many roms( Stock, Feralab's, Achotjan's, Wolfbreak's...)Currently I use X10S V9, and that Rom, by my opinion, is best for me. I just tweaked him with build.prop tweaks and with Rom Toolbox app, and for now, it's best rom I was try. I repeat, you must try by yourself to find out which rom best suit you.

there are many miui rom out there
depend on what you look for buddy
Oodie and Cobrato miui are the most stable miui rom .. but they too old !! based on GB
the new miui based on fxp cm 7.2 there are Cosmic Dan miui and M&M 7.2
M&M is more stable than Cosmic Dan special v5 and v6
im using M&M 7.2 and this rom is great
try them by your self and you chose what you like

In last 7 or 8 days I tried almost all GB Roms available, I liked Xepria S rom, achotjsn rom, feralab, DiXperia 8, donut HD...
I settled back to Xperia S (X10S V9)... Coz it's the mostvstaboe and most smooth, feralab is laggy so not my choice, achotjsn is almost same as X10S so no issues, donut HD has too many files to flash other than that no issues (only thing is not as smooth as X10S), I also liked a Rom called techdevil_evolution coz it's super light and very smooth but for some reason data connection was broke (bad kernel) so for now its a no no for me...
So choose what you like...
