i downgradet to .42, rooted it and updatet it to .69.
before updating, it had root, now after the update root is gone.

Please do not post questions in dev section, you can use any of the multiple threads existing about this topic. But please use before search function. Thanks

Hi,
I'm currently running 4.0.A.2.335 on my Mini Pro,
I've been getting the message to update to .58 for a couple months now, but was waiting to update because I wasn't sure if I was still going to be able to root.
So simple question: update before root or after?
Grtz!
Its not important, important not to use internal wi-fi updater when bootloader unlocked. in any case you must get root after every update, because all data will be removed

You cant update your phone to .58 if your phone currently rooted. You need to unroot first then update then reroot back.
So the answer is update first, then root

That's safe.
For my own information: do you have an AZERTY SK17i, and if so, would you please do me a favour and post your /system/build.prop (after rooting of course, can't access it otherwise) here or in my thread?
I'm looking for the 'generic Belgium' CDA code Currently running a french one but it came with some very irrelevant apps and I have another issue with it.

Nothing has been changed yet (phone is not rooted and hasn't been flashed yet). Stock can also mean, 'running SE firmware' as opposed to a custom ROM, regardless how the SE firmware was installed.

Hello everyone,
I would like to know if there is any (tested) method of rooting xperia pro with firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62. My phone is unlocked. I have no idea if my bootloader is locked or unlocked...
Some say they rooted this firmware, some say they failed, and I would like to know for sure if there is any way to root it.
The reason I want to root my phone is mainly to remove the annoying preintalled apps.
Any help would be great. Thanks!
How To Root Xperia Pro MK16I 4.0.2.A.0.62
I had to downgrade the software back down to version 4.0.2.A.0.58 in order to root the phone. My thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22619413#post22619413 refers.
Unfortunately, as yet, nobody seems to have posted a simple method of rooting the phone with version 4.0.2.A.0.62.
Cheers

I have a rooted 4.0.1.A.0.283.
Will the phone stay rooted if I upgrade to 4.0.2.A.0.62?
Thanks in advance,
Danny
as long as you update it OTA it should keep rooted.
updating with PC companion will remove the root access

And you couldn't ask that in one of existing threads, you need a new one?
We really need facepalm emoticon..
Yes, you can update it.
But if you update via the PC Suite you will lose the root.
Attention !!! Please read before start a new thread

Can you see su-backup file in system folder?
Enviado de meu XT910 usando o Tapatalk 2
Unfortunately not. SU is installed but RAZRbootstrapdoes not have permission SU-does not have access to the root, like other apps
I guess you have forgotten to unroot temp before you installed ICS, right? If so, there is no possibility to root at the moment.

Just be patient. The root exploit for ICS on Motorola devices is done already and the person responsible, djrbliss, is waiting for the official OTA to drop before releasing it so it can't be patched.
We should all be very thankful that we have someone with his skill and commitment doing this work.
So i had a custom rom on my xgo, also it was obviously rooted. I used to connect it to the usb port all the time to transfer stuff, but today i connected it to my pc and it said it has an update available, so i was like hey i kind of wanted the stock rom to be installed again, so i said sure. The update (obviously) installed stock rom, but more importantly, it removed my root. Why was that, is sony changing their minds on the rooting community?

the update that you did was stock rom? so was it is normal that happens, companies do not like the users have root access because we will can not uninstalled factory apps.
This is your question? I apologize if I misunderstood
