[Q] Questions about rooting a nook (ROMs, apps, etc) - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

My brother is going to be purchasing a Nook Tablet soon, and he asked me to root it and install an Android based ROM to it.
Now, I know NOTHING about Nooks. From looking around on the development page, it seems that CyanogenMod is the only supported ROM for the Tablet. If there are any others, what do you recommend?
Secondly, will he be able to use Android apps? I know he wants to get the emulator apps (N64, Gameboid, Gensoid, etc). Will those all work on a CM Nook?
Thanks

There is Cyanogenmod 7 and 9 ROMs, a few rooted stock ROMs, and I think there's one MIUI here in the Development subforum. CM7 is what most people go with since it offers the most features without sacrificing much stability.
He can get Android apps and all of the emulators should work fine. I can confirm that psx4droid and n64oid work perfect, and I'm sure others do too.

[Q] Can apk's from other devices be used?

I was just wondering if apps from other devices can be installed on the prime. Like modded flash 11 apk for hulu and other apks that are in other android threads?
As far as I know they should...

Strange question... AFA they are not specifically designed for a specific hardware, all Android apps can be installed...
Just read carefully the OP if those apps, most of them have a market link, check on market that they are compatible..
You can install other apk from other devices but if they're not compatible with your device they wont open, FC ,or will give you an error that it isnt compatible with your device. Kinda sucks but thats how android is for now until everyone jumps on board to ICS. Atleast that's one of the point of ICS is so apps made for it are compatible across all devices with ICS.

[Q] Trak tPad-7110 E

Hello! I have recently bought Trak tPad-7110 E in Lithuania. It comes with Android 4.0.4, Baseband version: 1.4rc3, Kernel version 3.0.8, Build number 20120713-F712.
I am not allowed to post links yet, but if you google the name of the tablet, you'd come to the website which is in polish. google "Trak tPad"
I believe it is manufactured in either China or Poland. When hard resetting, default language is Polish. My question is, Would it be possible to install a fresh android version on it, without the retarded apps this tablet comes with. It is bogged with useless stuff that slows the tablet down, and that is my reason why I really want to install vanilla version of Android.
What version would you recommend installing? Is it even possible? I have not found any information on the internet regarding this tablet.
Thanks in advance!
Bump... Guys, I really need your help!
Come on guys, please!!
Hey, I'm planning to get this tablet, have you managed to root it?

Well, I haven't really tried yet, as I do not have much of knowledge regarding android rooting, but I was looking forward to someone who maybe did that.
About the tablet... Programs stall pretty often, when updating apps, tab is unusable because of the stutter and lag. With no background proccesses running, it is a fine tablet to browse the net, no stutters there or anything. Same goes with apps.

Help needed with iOS apps

Hi everyone, I'm working for a real estate company at the moment and they are looking to get an app running on the android platform that we can use at our open homes. There is one on the play store called Open Home Register, but its crap, I paid for it and it doesn't work that well.
There is also one on iOS called OpenHome Pro, I've been in contact with the dev, and at the moment they have no plans to release an android version.
So, my question is, if I got permission, whats the work involved porting the app, or even rewriting to work on the android system, both tablet and phone? On average how much would we be spending on a dev to help us with that?
If somebody could help me that world be great.
Also I should mention that I have permission to work on the Open Home Register app, but the way its working just doesn't make things easier for us, so I thought start again using OpenHome Pro as our base because its a much better app.
Thanks in advance guys/girls,
Evil.

[Q] Disguise Tablet as another?

Hi there!
Is there a way to disguise my Tablet (Medion Lifetab) as something different, something more common, like a Nexus 10 or Galaxy 10 or something, so I can access certain Apps from the store? Searched, but couldn't really find something.
Thanks in advance

Apps from Google Play store don't know what type of Tablet you have, it doesn't work that way. I'm just guessing here, but I think it depends what flavour of Android (Gingerbread, Jelly Bean, Kit Kat) your running and the version of the App Store your running as to what you can download. (Maybe someone with more knowledge could confirm this)
Best bet for you is to research Custom ROM's and see what is avaliable, you might be able to run CyanogenMod or something. Look for forums for your specific tab maybe google it.
Hope that helps.
** Quick Google search for "Medion Lifetab Custom ROM" brought this up, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2097162 suggest you start learning to use the internet better ;0)

[Q] [REQUEST][APP] Runescape (2007) for Android

Hi guys,
I've tried to play Runescape (2007) on my Android smartphone for months, but everything is very buggy or unpleasant to use. I've tried Teamviewer and some other alternatives, but they didn't work the way I wanted. There is also a topic on Reddit, where they tried playing Runescape on Android with a couple of apps and some scripting. The only downside is that this is a very difficult method. Plus the fact that there still remain some bugs.
There wereld man threads on XDA as well, but those threads couldn't help me too.
Are there any guys that would like to make an Android app, or have a solution? I'm sure a Runescape (2007) app for Android would be very succesful!
Kind regards,
Jordy
Anyone?
