Ok I just started blogging on XDA and I have and Android phone which is obviously the LG OPTIMUS ONE.But unfortunately this phone isn't getting an official update from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich. So as I have seen on the internet many times does anyone know any good ROMs I can use? Please give the best possible one and latest one.And when telling me tell me anything that does not work.Apparently cameras and volume doesn't work on some so hopefully those bugs go.And while telling me add in how to download it and where with a link.Thanx!
go for gtr 5.0 download link on first page always follow instructions or you will end up with a brick also make sure your on the right baseband http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529777
Ok so the above is ICS right and what version e.g 4.0.3 etc. And are the instructions for downloading hard as I'm not too good with getting these updates AND are there any downsides for this ROM?I'm happy that camera works and volume too just need a clarification.

No it's not ics its 2.3.7 and yes the instructions are clear
Try looking at android original development for ics

Ok anyone else have any links to an ICS for OPTIMUS ONE?
Look in p500 original android development section. You'll find everything there. Don't go for heavy themed/modded firmwares because they are unstable and in a week your phone WILL lag

Was shouting really necessary? I was going to report you, but I couldn't find the appropriate option under 'Reason for reporting'.
Stop using new baseband. Majority users don't.

And there are already ROMs based on 2.3.3 official LG for the new baseband. Please check the DEV threads before posting here. And cut the crap with the big, bold fonts.
Thanks.
Okay i clicked that thanks button by mistake... :/
New baseband may not get quite good roms as its kinda buggy... also changing the baseband support of the rom is quite tedious... so forget about roms for new baseband... :/

I've been waiting for the gingerbread update for my T-Mobile Optimus T for so long. Googled for update today and here's what I found:
w w w. ehow. com/ how_12120364_download-android-23-lg-optimus-t. html
(just delete the spaces in the URL)
I am at work now and can't check whether this info is accurate. Does anyone know if the update has indeed been released?
Thanks.
Why use official when you have better roms like miks port on Cyanogen or SonyGen (Which I prefer)
Its false. I tried it and it does not work.

Can you, please, provide a link to a Gingerbread ROM that is fully functional with correct baseband? Thanks.
I'm on my phone so it's a bit hard but optimus t being the US version of p500h? It'll never officially get the gingerbread rom I heard somewhere.
Link of rom a currently use:

Great rom for battery life. If you need more help post back here. I and other members will help you out.

Appreciate your taking time. Here come n00b questions:
1) Will this work with Optimus T (P509). Couldn't find any info on which Optimus model this is for. AFAIK, P500 ROMs are no good for P509.
2) Any major issues?
3) It says the ROM uses the old baseband. What does it mean? Will 3G/4G work? Wi-Fi?
4) Oh, and will I be able to revert back to official firmware in case LG decides to release an official update?
Thanks.

1. Yes. All P500 ROMs are compatible with the P509 (but FWIW, you will lose the T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling feature).
2. No. Read the known bugs list.
3. Wi-Fi and data will work with the old baseband (which is what you are using now).
4. Make a backup before you flash a new ROM (it is also possible to download the original firmware from LG).
1) why wouldn't the rom work on optimus t by the looks of google image its the same phone just renamed. I can check in the specs tomorrow (11:40pm here and class starting at 8:30am).
2) old baseband is what you want to keep. The new baseband has some sort of new feature which disables the Data transfer so you want the old baseband.
3) you can always get the original firmware back to your phone using the kdz updater thibgy which is made by LG but I highly doubt you wil want that. I'll link you up in the mornig if I've got time or maybe someone else will.
I noticed somene else replied and well I didn't answer the questions in order

IIRC ROMs for different Optimus One-based models (One, V, S, T) may not be compatible with each other as they work on different 3G bands/frequencies. This is what I heard so I just want to confirm. Thanks.
Can you, guys, also provide a link to a guide on how to backup and flash ROMs/firmware? I am relatively tech savvy when it comes to computers but an absolute noob when Android is concerned. Million thanks.
BOGUS as others have stated.
The below site lists all newly released LG roms and the 509 ain't on the list
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/agent_phonesw_notice_list.jsp
Optimus T and Optimus One have slightly different 3g basebands.
Fortunately, Andy and mik are in no hurry to support the new baseband and with the FD bug why would they.

They are not all compatible; only the Optimus T (P509) is compatible with the Optimus One (P500). I don't have a data plan, but AFAIK, there isn't an issue with 3G when using a P500 ROM on a P509 with T-Mobile US.
This guide covers most of the steps.

so im a little bit let down right now, after the update, i didnt get exactly what i expected. i went from 2.2 to 2.2.2, which i suppose any update is better than none, but i had been using the p500 2.3 kdz for a while now and was excited to see i may not have to manually input my APN settings everytime for my data and mms to work after a restore..
hopefully the p500 is a sign that well be recieving 2.3 eventually, just not right now lol
so I installed the V10S which broke the root ability even with Gingabreak I cannot get it to root.
Do you guys have any tips on what to do?
Also I would like to test 2.3 on my Optimus T because the canvas element should be accelerated and run HMTL5 based games faster.
I am currently developing a game and thus would like to test this speed improvement.
But honestly after spending days on the web I am more than confused about if there is a Android 2.3 rom for the US T-Mobile LG Optimus T which also runs stable and supports all functions including the Google apps.
Help to put an end to my noob level would be much appreciated !!!

Gingerbread for LG-P509?
MechanicaIMan:
I really like the information you have contributed here, I'd like to get my P509 running the same rom set up you have, but I'm not sure if I can because I updated my baseband when I flashed my current ROM. By the way is there anyway to manipulate the CPU to an ARMv7?
Here's my phone info:
Model: LG-P500 (actually a P509)
Android Version: 2.3.7
Baseband Version: LGP500AT-00-V20g-OPEN-COM-JUN-14-2011+0
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.10-cyanogenmod [email protected]))
CPU info: ARMv6-compatible processor rev 5 (v6l)
Mod Version: CyanogenMod-7-02202012-NIGHTLY-OptimusOne
Build number: GWK74
Thanks in advance.
Somebody PLEASE answer....
like someone said earlier, i too was let down when i saw the update was for a 2.2.2!!
Is the Optimus T getting/has an "official" gingerbread update?
if so, please send link and or fastboot instructions. Thanks.

i dont find any third party app yet,
Why cant you upgrade to ICS, stable versions are already out...
make sure which model you have from under the battery slot, I9100G or I9100
mine is I9100 not I9100G..
can you please provide the easy installation link for upgrading GB to ICS?
better you learn basics first from the sticky threads, to know rooting, flashing, stock roms, custom roms etc...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442549
Official update is through Keis only,
apart from the Kies update, you can manually flash official ICS roms through ODIN software,
There are many custom ROMs available in this forum, which can be flashed from the Recovery of your Phone, but for that first you need rooting+CWM on your phone.
Keep in mind that Rooting, flashing another Kernel & Rom will void your waranty.
let me know which way you need to upgrade to ICS
i want to do using official update as you mentioned via kies..
what is the procedure for that?becoz i dnt want to spoil my warranty
you are very helpful for me..
thank you friend for helping a newbie in android world...
samsung has not rolled out the ICS for complete regional wise previouse versions of the GB yet,...
first of all you have to check your firmware version, to know whether your version is among the eligible list of firmwares samsung released the update for...
you can use the "Check Fus" application from market for this...
sorry..showing here this one is the latest firmware..
sorry then you will not get through Kies,
what is your firmware datails?

yes this is Middle east version, for which the ICS update has not been released yet.
only the options for you are to wait or flash update mannualy as I described above...
so just wait for some-days,if nt comng the official update i may go to the flashing
thank you friend..
one more doubt..
why my status in gtalk not showing robot?so others can understand i am in mobile..
I dont remember the settings of old talk,
now I can see a setting in my version (4.0.3) Menu/settings/your account/tick mobile indicator...
Android symbol is ok now.thanks

Hey all, before I had a Motorola Defy, now I am with an Atrix 4g
My basic question is, what should not do to brick my phone? should I update it? Like I said, I came from a Defy, Defy has a locked bootloader so it is almost impossible to brick it, now I am a little scared with the Atrix hehe. Thanks !

you shoudn't flash an sbf file that is not the same as your current version. to update or not to update, that is entirely up to you. if yoh're satisfied with a gb os (2.3.x), don't upgrade. if you want ics (4.0 4) or jb (4.1.x-4.2.2), then update. just unlock the bootloader, root your phone, and enjoy

you could if you wanted, but most of the updated versions are available through the rom superthread thread in the development section. just be sure to pay attention to carrier specific roms if you chose to use one of them. and i did just see your post in another thread saying that you were on froyo. after seeing that, i would say yes, upgrade your phone to a better os. gb works great, ics and jb work well and will work better now that we have the new kernel, but expect bugs to be present, but they are still very usable roms

Can you imagine the chaos if every new member decided to skip all the reading and just opened a new thread?

You have a lot of tutorials about upgrading to official (moto stuff) roms or about installing custom roms, when i bought my razr it came with gingerbread, one of the first things i do was upgrading to ICS and then i start using custom roms with safestrap, but that dependens on what you want/need from the phone. Also you have to check if your phone is CDMA or GSM, before installing a rom or at least ask if that have a patch.
here you have a post with a los of links and a tons of info. Hope that helps

The European retail jellybean formats your whole phone, so you can flash it and have your phone back on normal.
